When you realize Maisie advocates child murder, the scene just doesn't seem to carry as much weight.
@hekiryuu1
@hekiryuu1 5 лет назад
@@dirtdiv3r you mean termination of fetus? Lets go through stages of development: From 0-2 weeks of pregnancy, Its germinal. Literally just a cluster of cells with no real order. 90% of the time, a miscarriage happens at this stage and noone notices. If you have been pregnant before, that 90% odds drops quite a bit. Then from 3-8 weeks its Embryonic, where you show early stages of evolution in your development, but lack any heart or really most organ like structures. 75% of the time, a miscarriage happens at this stage, and most women just think its a rough period. That said, it can be really rough, especially if you knew you were knocked up. After that the pregnancy is in fetal stages til the roughly 9 month period. At this point you start developing the features and structures that start making you more human and less blob. Chance of miscarriage drops to 25%, even lower if you have given birth before. Then you are born, and assuming you you are not stillborn, mortality rate significantly depends on where you are born in the world, but even in the US, it happens through natural means. When you are born, you are a baby (or infant), typically for 12 months. You are still not a child. From 12-36 months (aka 1-3 years old) you are a toddler. Still not a child. After 3 years of existing outside the womb, you are finally a child. There is a whole slander and libel difference between being pro-choice and "advocating child murder." On top of that, there is a whole slander and libel difference between being pro-choice and being pro terminating a pregnancy. For instance, I personally don't like the idea of abortions, both for personal beliefs, as well as personal history. With that said, I am pro-choice as I believe that A) the govt should have 0 to say what we do with our bodies, as it is none of their business, and B) I believe god gave each of us free will, and it is not on me to impose my will on another human being. They have a God given right to chose for themselves, and if there are spiritual repercussions for that choice, thats between them and their maker. It is very anti christian to assume you have the right to judge people for their actions. According to the bible, only god can judge sins, and it is an unforgivable sin to think yourself god. Likewise, At no point should the government tell me what I can and cannot do with my body, especially if they are basing those decisions based on how someone interprets a religious text. Should the government make laws forcing women to walk 10 steps behind their husband? Should they make it illegal for a woman to talk in a mans presence without first being addressed? the answer is that is ridiculous, but that is what happens if we use the bible to make law. A fetus is not a separate life yet, and its up to the mother if she wants to be an incubator or not for something that some day might or might not become its own person. That is the science, and that is what we should be making the decision off of. Go fund better medical science so we can grow these abortions in test tubes, and then you can say they cant abort, and instead can donate. Also also if you are truly pro life, I hope you also foster kids, as if you are gonig to force unwanted kids into the world, you should also take some first hand ownership of the problem that creates. I want kids of my own, but not everyone is me.

This hits too close to home. I had a neighbor who was a WW2 vet, he was there my whole life and he always loved spending time with me, and i did aswell. But, as I grew into my teens, I started getting more distracted and more shy. I used to be fine talking to him and sitting with him. But then I just stopped going over to see him except for holidays where I would briefly go and tell him to have a great day and that would be it. He one day collapsed and went to a hospital, I visited him but I naively thought "Oh he'll be back soon, I just want to go home". Then one day my mother told me he passed. He was 95. I just wish in his last couple years I could've been better to him and paid him back for all he ever did for me. Please, cherish the time you have with loved ones, you never know how much time you have left.

My mother passed away from Alzheimer’s about ten years ago. It’s rough. Your dad may stay in the stage he is in now or he could regress further. All cases are different. I would take my mom out for drives, just to get her out of the house but it tended to disorient her and make her angry. Yet I’d give anything to have her back. Enjoy your dad as much as you can. The old sense love and affection even when they’re confused. It’s all we can give them but, at the same time, it’s all they really want. Wish you both the best.

I cared for my grandfather before he passed. This guy reminds me of my grandfather. Like how I could sometimes talk with him and suddenly his perspective shifted and he had a whole different story going on in his mind. He didn't know me most of the time. Once he thought I was going to attack him and shouted for the police. Once he scolded me for 'leaving the house at late night' because he couldn't see me cleaning in the kitchen at 9pm. Once he called me Mummy, clung to me and didn't want to let go. He was my source of comfort. I felt like he was the only person who truly accepted me and listened to me as best he could, the only one I could not disappoint because he didn't judge me. It's easy for me to not judge him but to receive that in return from someone who saw you as a stranger means so much. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, he would be there to listen and give unrelated but sweet advices. I miss him a lot. I hope you guys caring for your loved ones make wonderful memories together.

Ms. Williams has expressed doubt that she's "not hot enough for Hollywood"... meanwhile some of us on this side of the screen wonder if we're looking at the beginnings of a new Meryl Streep or Katherine Hepburn kind of career. "Thrones" gave her opportunities to play a HUGE range of emotions, more so than almost anything I can imagine. "Hotness" has the ability to trap an actress, witness Michelle Pfeiffer playing a waitress in a diner, "Frankie & Johnny." Just... can't be done. Stay unhot, Maisie, we'll be with you forever.

I watched this film twice so I could adsorb everything the producer is trying to say to us..wow I got even a better perspective the 2nd time round. What a great short film. Better than any Hollywood film that lasts for hours. A young woman who's lost her son and an older man who lost his mother when he was young. Their connection is beautiful and the way you show how they each have something to share with each other is real. The irony in him finding his "silver" meaning the pictures or memories from his childhood. Their worth silver to him because that's his past. Much respect to you for making these films.

My stepfather was a wonderful man, a WWII veteran, and had a zest for life. In his mid 80's he developed dementia, and I quickly learned to play a role, much like an actor. The script took place in whatever year he thought it was, my role was whomever he thought I was at that moment, and in his imagined tragedies, I would be that person who came to calm the storm. It kept me on my toes, and I had to speak English, French, and Spanish to make it real for him, buy not a day goes by that I'd don't miss him. It also happened with my aunt who was childless, and also a WWII veteran. I would stop by to see her everyday as she was dying. I would read her mail to her, and would make up little stories about one of her letters being from a long lost love who just wanted to say hello,. I don't know who the hell I was channeling when I made up those letters, but as I conveyed the words to her I was often surprised.

An incredibly beautiful and poignant short film. Economical with the story - I wondered where it was going, right up until the last few minutes when everything came together and I was hit between the eyes with so much emotion. Of course, this could easily be a much longer film. Well acted by Maisie, who portrayed her character convincingly. Tragic and emotional. Wonderful. Thank you.

When I visited my 95-year old dad for a month in a small town in northern Ontario, none of the neighbors across the street or beside him ever visited with him. He'd be out there mowing the lawn in the summer or racking the leaves in the fall or shovelling the snow in the winter at that age and no one helped him. It was sad that he's lived in that house for over 30 years and not one person cared. Most were young couples with kids and although they didn't have anything in common, you'd think someone in all those years passing by would have stopped by to chat or check in on him but nope. Sad when we see neighbours decade after decade and continue to act like strangers. (This is what this film reminded me of.)

She has said that was an issue especially because she can’t seem to get jobs playing someone older or in s romance. She said it might be because of her looks, or that people had seen her grow up and feel uncomfortable casting her. When she was in Doctor Who I think Ashildr was at least 18, but she acted like a kid with a wild imagination and you only realise she is older much later.

This is like the 5th Onletto short that I've seen in two days. They are all so good, and I figured out why. Realistic, yes. Well written, yes, always with a well chosen cast, unknowns but always well chosen and acted. But that's not it. It's the feeling, the emotion. Despite the sense that there might not be a lot "going on" there is always so much emotion rippling through every scene that it hard to turn away. Well done again!!

An incredible range of emotions all the way across the board. These are the sort of stories that lead toward Oscar considerations. Of course the elephant in the room is that this is starring someone who is world known, except there is an element that everyone can relate to this sort of story in one way or another. Very impressive, well produced and directed. Worthy of awards.
