I think it's cool how you talked about and touched on grounding about the sandles. Those are cool. Being a pagan and a nature child I ground myself while hiking with a walking stick I made from driftwood. I placed a copper coil on the bottom of it and a quartz crystal on top of it to cause positive energy and vibes as negative energy gets grounded through the bottom.
Whew, you had my heart pounding too, that damn leaf🍃. Glad you didn't end up with an extra hole in your head. Epic adventure, thanks for sharing it with us.
Man I’d love to spend my birthday weekend having a personal trip with you man! I love adventure and if we can make it happen that would be the best 25th anyone could ask for!
I just finished watching river king's unsanctioned packrafting video this morning, and I was thinking about suggesting a packrafting adventure for your channel. Then I saw you posted this one yesterday. How awesome.
I sure have! But the time and resources I would have to use up make it pretty difficult. Hopefully with some more hustle I can create a channel where I can afford the time and resources to do things like that.
Your camera shots are getting so good! Also i need more adventure videos! would you consider quitting your job and doing RU-vid videos full time? Obviously if it paid enough to be able to quit? Thanks for inspiring us!!
Hey thanks Paige! I would absolutely love to do adventures full time and it is what I'm striving for. Still a long ways away from that point but I just have to keep pushing ;) You're welcome!
Hey Trip, you have to try kippered snacks! You will never eat sardines again after you try 'kippered snacks'. It's smoked herring packed in water. The brand at my grocery store is: "Brunswick Herring fillets"
It's a good idea to wear sunglasses or clear goggles when roaming through the brush. A scratch on the eye will ruin your time. And it doesn't seem like it will happen until it does.
AWESOME Trip(and I think I know wherev you are and what lake it is ;) lol). I lived in Florida for about 6 years or so and the old saying was, "if there's water, there's gators in it". Don't you worry about those critters?
Lol You probably do ;) Nah, don't worry about them at a place like this for some reason. The days I was there, never saw one. Typically in that weather, if they were there I'd know about it.
I think a good skunkape suit would be effective for slipping through those sketchy areas with less chance of trouble. Right over the pack. What could go wrong 🤪
you need a carbon element below your sawyer, it cleans up the taste and smell. ive drank Brazos river water for days at a time with the regular sawyer and Platypus carbon. the mini has far less flow too, the large will filter on its own so you can walk away while it filters. anywho, love the videos. keep it up!
awesome adventure!..in the future when you have to "bushwack", always stop and look at your back trail every so often..the trail always looks different in the opposite direction!
Amazing video as always. I recognize the lake you are at. It is a gorgeous spot. I fished there a time or two as a kid. Either way keep up the great work.
Dang, somehow RU-vid knocked all your videos out of my notifications because I haven't been getting them! 😡 On the bright side, now I have a whole nights worth of new Trip videos to watch. 😁
Trip, I really agree with your sentiments about development and nature. At the current rate of growth in USA/Florida, undeveloped places like this will definitely no longer exist in Florida within our lifetime. And that's sad. With federal/state parks becoming so commercialized and developed under the guise of accessibility, the 'last line of defense' is private timberland like this; but with timberland losing value at increasing rates, it won't be very long until the rest is finally sold off to real estate developers.
Thanks again for another inspiring adventure! Why did you bring the Aqua Marina and not one of your other boards (RED, Black Fin...)? Is it the lightest? By the way, go and buy some spare D-rings and glue on some handles on that board :-) ...I'm just about to do that myself on my Aqua Marina board (Triton)...wonder how that'll go... Cheers from Denmark
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! I brought the Aqua Marina because I felt like it rolled up the smallest and I wasn't sure how much space I would need in the bag.... I think that will go just fine as long as you use the proper adhesive ;)
I think I vaguely know his starting point and where he climbs the fence. He seems to enter and exit the lake from the East. But if he is parking on the main road, I don't understand why he walks by the populated area first. I would've started two squares to the West, and gone North and then Northwest, arriving at the lake from the South.
Great video as always Trip. Can I ask you where you got your hat from as I can't see a link to that bit of kit. Looking forward to your next video. All the best from the UK.....
Hey buddy, I know about where you are. You say “untouched” in this video. Right up the road from you is a place called the fitzhugh-carter tract. It is FWC managed land and lakes. It is untouched and definitely a nice place to go explore and fish. You should check it out. It may be 5 miles from where you are in this video.
Trip Love your channel and your videos. i have watched most of them. I have never heard you mention if you carry or pack in any type of firearm? Just curious.
Thanks Ryan! I used to from time to time. I don't anymore.... Not that I'm against it at all I just don't really see a major need and don't want the hassle.
You need some snake boots Trip. Not trying to be your mother or anything but a pygmy rattler is going to make a believer of you on one of these expeditions. Nice video as always.
Cool video don't know if I would have drank out of the old Pepsi bottle though, survival situation ofcourse. You should of brought a fishing pole it weighs 5 times less than that bottle of water you brought 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Being in Norway I just jumped straight onto google earth... Just sitting here wondering where in the world you are... :-P And I think I'm onto something... (not!!) haha!
I spent about 10 mins of the video on google earth and then looking in the comments to see if I was right. When you cut the audio out and know BBL it’s easier to read your lips. Lol
If you are up in North Georgia or plan a trip near PCB I’d love to tag along. You could do another subscriber 20.1 trip. Just got into kayaking this year and now ready to hammock camping with the kayak.
@@TripSmith yessir I think it’s awesome that you reply to all of your fans too! Let me know if you’re ever around Tallahassee, I take my kayak out all the time and love exploring new places to paddle and fish so I’d definitely be down for an adventure!
Too bad a trail camera wasn't on in the area you were lying on the ground. That would have been hilarious to have to figure out "what in the hell is that man doing?"
Trip, I love your material and love watching each of your adventures. You are very great at what you do. You inspired me to try and get my own channel up and going and hopefully soon the action camera my wife ordered me comes in and I can start recording soon as She hits.
@@TripSmithHa! I found it, too. It's on the Google Map, not too far from one of the narrow creeks you ran on the paddle board, the one with lots of beautiful clear springs :). Looks like some kind of amazing place from the satellite view. Might have to sneak my kayak in there some time. What a cool adventure!
Check out the OnX Hunt app. It will give you a one week free trial and it shows property owners on a map. You can also track and calculate distance for paddling trips.
