Hey guys! Hope your all doing well and trying to make the most of the current world situation. Another night car camping and a good distraction from lockdowns and not being able to travel! 🤟🏻
Metal oven tray under burner!!!...... cheaper than 4 chocolate chip cookies 🍪 or a burnt out van! Fire extinguisher great but in confined space with a fat fire 🔥 will spread it not put it out if done incorrectly and you’ll get a lung full of dry powder 🧯 #prevention better than cure 🙏👍🏻
Maybe it’s my age (old!!), but I’ve learned to like rainy days! I like the contrast in conditions, and it’s a unique feature of dear old Blighty’s weather that you can witness all four seasons in one hour 🤣😳😉! Travel safely Will, and try and avoid dogging spots 🤪. Some guy tried to pick me up in one, but unfortunately for him I was tucking in to fish&chips, and he didn’t look enough like Matt Damon 😆, so dinner won, and I told him to sling his hook 😁
Hi love your videos- I’m a van life in the USA- for eating I would recommend a small 1 cup rice cooker. There are also recipe books available. The smaller ones use very little electricity and the portions are great for a single guy !
A roll-up silicone baking sheet would be perfect for the cook stove issue. It would protect the bed and could be used as a cutting board as well. When you’re done it rolls up and tucks away.
Get some wind breakers for your windows, then you can keep one ajar, and still keep wind and rain out but still be stealth.Just get a hopping board cheap for putting under your stove, and please get a Carbon Monoxide alarm, buy them any were.keep safe🏴🚗⛺️
As a trucker who lives on the road most of the week. Reference you cooking on your bed. Have you thought about a large chopping board to put under your cooker. Multi function and everyone’s a winner 🤙
Watching your videos is always a fun.. I first found them when you were stuck in Nepal during the lockdown. That music at 15:26 made me nostalgic. You used to include it in your videos back then . Since then I've always been watching them whenever I'm free. Stay safe mate. Lots of Love from Nepal.. 💓💓💓 🇳🇵 🇳🇵 🇳🇵🇳🇵
Your comedy timing is on point "Some serious drug deal going on or some serious dogging" .... next clip "In With The Sausage". Good job no one was in ear shot or you would have had an audience lol
@@WillsWhereabouts it snowed here in indiana on Monday. About 2" First time on snow with my new to me Ford Escape Hybrid. She did great even if I drove 30mph all the way to work!😆
I dunno how much extra room you've got to play with there (seems to be a bit more from the first video though, might need to dive into the interim vids) but here's a thought for cooking on your bed: consider getting a folding snack tray or somesuch. they make 'em in wood or metal, and I imagine the bigger concern is the bed directly underneath the stove getting scorched and starting a fire that way, rather than hot oil going everywhere (although that does seem like it'd be an issue)
Enjoyed that. Best fire option for you I think would be a fire blanket to smother the flames. At least it would let you get out. Meal looked tasty. Stay safe. 👍
Any deer old chap, it's already plural. Richmond Park is beautiful. Funnily enough I have been lost there more than once, as a young soldier on basic training at Woolwich many years ago. This was one of the overnight exercise areas. Interesting to see what people get up to lol. I live in tge country these days, in rural france.
I love Richmond park my mum lives on Richmond hill. When I was growing up in Richmond the park was mine and my mates 2nd home great memories. Done loads steath camping in Richmond park.
@@WillsWhereabouts I don't really know I never asked . Me mates used to made dens use are hammocks sleep in park loads times . We did not have camp fires we just used camping stove. So dark in there at night could not see a thing lol.
@@WillsWhereabouts we met homeless man in park who been camping in Richmond park for 11 months never got court. Don't think it would be allowed because royal park.
I'm excited for a potential Austria in winter video. I spent a semester in Austria from January to April. Beautiful country! I cannot wait to get back one day.
Do you think about stealth camping? Some people bring the propane gas heaters even outside and cook on a camp stove. You could do it with a little planning. That would be a cool video.
Videos are awsome! Did some stealth camping last year in my vw caddy, great fun! You should cut a sheet of ply to the size of the face of the side of your bed that comes off, so stops anything under your bed flying around when you drive then u can unclip it and put it in bed and cook/eat on it!
You do worry me with that gas stove on the bed! But enjoying your vids. At least put a fire blanket under the stove. They fold up nice and small. I have two under my log burning stove/oven that is in my bell tent and its raised off the ground. 😁
Assuming that's a butane stove, carbon monoxide isn't a concern. It mostly produces carbon dioxide, unless there is insufficient oxygen and even then you're using very little of it.
I spent summer 2019 in the Rep of Georgia in a Mercedes Vaneo, rigged like yours. Its a little smaller than yours, basically a stretched A class, with sliding doors both sides. Took it places 4x4 drivers were unsure of. South Africans can drive.
Been digging the vids, makes me want to do this in my Ford Explorer, it's a little less stealth and a bit more cramped but plenty of room for a mattress, can lock and unlock all the doors from in the back, aircon vents in the rear roof, so should be decent! I'm in Australia, the temp issues here are the opposite, got to keep cool! Keep it up brother
Just been bing watching your channel!! Great stuff and really funny guy, brings a smile to my face after a long day of work. Damn, videos like that make me want to quit "normal" life and just do this for a few months out of the year.
Newbie to the channel here. Enjoying your content. Don’t know if you’ve heard of him already, but Steve Wallis a Canadian has some pretty good stealth camping videos. Maybe something to watch while you’re stealth camping. 🍻
Were those dens or bigfoot nests?.... Depends on whether you watch discovery channel lol. Really enjoy the videos mate. Love the camper setup you have going on there, thats a lot of work but it's well done. Regards Wayne
Hey, Mr Whereabouts. Are you into backpacking? You love nature, you enjoy solitude (not exclusively, of course) and you like being resourceful. On my bucket list are backpacking and wild camping in the UK. I only started backpacking in early 2018, so I need to make up for lost time.
You have a new subscriber. I'm like you I find it fun camping out in a tent or a car even in my home town Manchester. I came across your channel because I'm looking at converting a Mercedes stealth van into a home on wheels. Keep the videos coming your experiences are unmissable watching. Hoping the tier system in 2021 calms down. Who has put thumbs down and why .
All good, enjoy your videos but please take a couple of tips from someone qualified in transporting dangerous goods by road! 1) get (as already suggested) a board to place cooker on, that will keep it stable and less prone to catching fire. 2) get a proper fire extinguisher, a 4KG one, in date, professionally checked every 12 months and fix it properly/permanently onto the car. that toy one you have will let you down when you don't want it to 3) Keep going north to Herefordshire, Tier 1. :) Take care.
Hello, I am a subscriber who lives in Korea. The car looks a little bumpy with just a bed. There are houses called goshiwon in Korea. They pay a certain amount of money instead of providing basic food and bed.Sometimes I think that life forms will be different, but instead of giving comfort, I thought that Korean goshiwon, which requires extreme caution, and Miniven, which you live in, resemble a lot.I hope you stay healthy and be free.By the way, I live in Korea and I don't know English, so I wrote this story using a translator. Happy New Year!
Oh hello just found you Whow different presentation glad I found you Watching these videos gives a good insight into people travelling in different countries..look forward to following you cheers from Melbourne.. .
You should have covering for your windshield and side windows so you can sit in the passenger seat and no light comes through the front. That was the one flaw I saw in your set-up when you stealth-camped in the city. You also should have a heater you could turn on to keep your car warm before going to bed, a carbon monoxide detector, and something to cover your bed while you are cooking. I couldn't help but wonder what bits escaped from the pan on to your bed. Maybe in the back part under your bed where there are no bins you could devise some way to have a table or flat wood of some sort come out from under there. You could chop and cook on that instead of your bed. Just brainstorming.
Defiantly a good idea and something I need to have a think about as cooking on the bed is good but perhaps not as practical or hygienic as a slide out table some how!
🤣🤣ferrari micro camper.. i have a renault espace with sleeping and camping possible, i know your thoughts. the ferrari is cool and fast, but a moving room is so much cooler🤣🤟🏽😉
New subscriber and trying to catch up on prev car/van vlogs. Have missed the change to single bed.. what happened to your cooking shelf, could you not lay that on the bed? Single bed set up looks better use of space though..
Good God, just buy a fire blanket sheet, if you insist on cooking on your bed. Not rocket science and it is cheap. Will stop your bedding potentially being messed up with food splashing and protect bedding from smells.
