I have lived in my Toyota Prius for four years. Oh, I definitely do not have that room, but don’t need it because I do not spend much time inside except when it’s raining…for those long rainy da6s, I do wish I had more space.

@@DenaliDad yeah I only camp in my Yukon and it rained one weekend and it was mess plus I have a 75 lb german shepherd and she needed to be walked needless to say i went home, moisture in the car and getting below freezing that night was not going to be fun. That's when I realized I needed some outside cover to get out of the rain but not have to go inside the car.

I have turned my Honda HR-V into a car camper in preparation to take a six-month road trip around the Western US. Took out both rear seats (super easy to do - only four bolts.) and with the front driver's seat folded forward (but not pushed up at all) I can lie flat in the back. (I'm 5 ft 10 in tall) Of course, this channel was the inspiration to take this trip. Thank you Bob for all that you do!

One great advantage of a large SUV is ground clearance. But if you don’t need the ground clearance, a minivan has more space. I have a 2024 Toyota Sienna minivan. I easily get 36 mpg, you can’t beat that!

I wish I could go the minivan route so badly... but I live in an area that gets boat loads of snow so having AWD is basically a must to stay mobile...

I have camped across the country in my 1st Gen Toyota Sequoia. For one person, it is plenty of space compared to camping in my Prius. Another benefit to the Sequoia is the bullet proof 4.7l V8 engine. I get about 20 mpg, which isn't close to the Prius but the Sequoia is a much more comfortable ride. Thanks for sharing.

Dodge Caravan with stow and go is an excellent option . Removing the seats gives you a great deal of below the floor storage space. Years ago I would nap in my Caravan after a long, overnight shift. It was a 2000 regular Caravan. Plenty of room. The newer Caravans with Stow and go would be an excellent full time/part time option.

I went for a few days in a small SUV with a cat…talk about CRAMPED. Not really pleasant trying to move around. The seats were not removed and do not fold flat. This big SUV looks great inside.
@priestesslucy3299
@priestesslucy3299 3 месяца назад
Yeah the only rigs you can really keep all the seats are trucks (because the seats aren't in the living space that you build over the bed) and vans with proper fold into the floor seats. Anything else and you need to remove all or most of the rear seats (leaving one of the far back seats for use as a chair can work pretty well)
@NoZenith
@NoZenith 3 месяца назад
@priestesslucy3299 If you aren't extremely tall, the Subaru Outback has some pretty amazing options that you can buy for a foldable mattress. I seriously considered getting one of those lifted wagons just because it would be so easy to sleep in being six foot tall. I drive a Golf GTI and I would be able to stretch out so luckily I'm a side sleeper, but that means I need really good padding underneath me to be comfortable Which lifts me up and gets bulky... I love my fuel economy in comparison, But I would definitely have to take a backseat out of my car and build a little platform to get myself a little bit more open space and probably even put a little modular platform like a stool in the rear passenger floor board after pushing the passenger seat all the way ahead to really get a good place to sleep.

What a great setup; I thank the owner for allowing the filming to help others. I like the streamlined thoughtful choice of quality selected items and the bins that stack and have doors. They are a great lightweight and flexible use option. Curious if there is a water basin/sink/catchment of some kind or if that is handled in a simpler way. Having one very bad knee and frightened of injuring the other, i cringe when thinking of living like this and find it fascinating that many, even older people, decide they will be ok! I I'd rather have to crouch a little though that, too, is uncomfortable and very bad for your neck and posture. 6 I'll be able to afford a vehicle a bit taller when i sell my current home. I love the organization, her cozy bed, and great adaptability! Inspirational as usual! Thank you, Bob, once again, for sharing how simple it is to get a foot into changing our lives for the better!!

Oh, thank you so much for sharing your home on wheels at all, and please don’t be ashamed. It’s just part of the time we are living in. It’s practically a normal concept to me now (I’m 36). It’s a great SUV/RV conversion!! It seems very well planned!! I know probably nobody’s heard of him, but David Wilkerson had a vision of a lot of calamities befalling the USA, but he also had a brief random vision of a bunch of people getting in their cars/vans etc and leaving the cities and practically living in vehicle villages-out away from the cities. He said he didn’t know what happened, but something happened and people started leaving the cities and living in their cars in droves. It’s pretty wild because when he was alive he was considered a heretic for the visions he had… but he’s gone home to be with the Lord now. April 27, 2011 he passed. He got to listening to the news in his later years and you can tell by the sensationalizing tone he takes on momentarily in his later sermons, something he preached against as a younger man, watching the news. For brief moments it sounds like he’s going on about how the sky is falling in regards to the news of that day-14+ years ago, and yet, here we all are. You know how they do on some news channels lol… he sounds like yesterday’s news sometimes. 😅 It’s in an excerpt uploaded 4 years ago from a sermon even more years ago. “David Wilkerson What’s Coming To America (excerpt)” uploaded by Ahava Jerusalem. If anybody’s interested it is a pretty short excerpt considering he could preach for over an hour if they let him. ❤️✝️ Have a blessed day unless you made other plans! 😊

Keeping the jump starter in the car is a good idea but you should tell your friend that every time you let the starter battery go flat it shortens the life of the battery. An isolated starter battery will last longer. A separate battery for utilities is essential. Suggested ; a switch to turn off the battery and protect it would be worth the expense and could be mounted inside so that you wouldn't have to exit the car to turn it off and on.
