A enclosed cargo trailer is the way to go holds its value and can pull behind with most vehicles. More secure and you can build it your way or have someone to build it for you.. In a few states on pull behind trailers no taxes or tags. And you can pull it down the road when you need to. And if you just have a truck and trailer you can even get by with free parking in a lot of places. And in my state a single axle trailer you do not have to inspect it. And most single axle trailers are under a gross 3000 lbs and under for the trailer and the contents inside the trailer.
It was very interesting. It didn't answer all my questions about the cab organisation with 2 dogs, but they seem to make things do and enjoy life. They might want to consider using duvet covers on a curtain pole on each side so they get a better window coverage generally. I think I would want seat back tables to flip down for laptop use, and use the bed to keep things out of the footwells while using the cab.
This is an awesome couple. I would love to do this with my significant other. And I want to thank them for explaining where they hang out. I was wondering how people made hanging out in the front seat work. My problem is I don't like hanging out in the driver's seat because I don't like the steering wheel in my face and my passenger seat is really uncomfortable. I do have a question about what do they do with the dogs when the dogs are dirty, muddy, and/or wet, especially since the dogs sleep with them? Rain, snow, muddy roads, dogs have to go out. I struggle to keep my SUV halfway clean with it just being me. Dirt gets tracked in and dust freaking blows in. I can't imagine having that, plus all the hair the dogs shed, plus the dogs being wet/dirty/muddy. Do they just have different cleanliness standards?
We did Utah, Arizona, California, Nevada last summer. It was hot as HELL. Worst was Vegas end of June. We try to follow the good temps. We sleep until about 4 or 5 am and wake up before the sun cooks us out. Never have used AC in the back while sleeping and we've survived. But we are very used to living in cold/hot elements. 👻
