OMG two of my favorite VanLifers in ONE vlog?! I LOVE IT! Chad’s arctic journey was Epic!!! One of my fav things abt Chad’s vlogs are his wilderness skills in extreme conditions so I was rollinggggg when Nikki stepped inside his well-equipped, trail-tested, rugged van n called it ‘cute’ 😂😂😂😂 I know it was meant as a compliment but it was also hilarious, given the context.

Been watching since the Prius days. My doggie gadget, recognized your pic in the thumbnail on RU-vid here. She went crazy with whimpers. When I clicked off of it, she barked at me, a lot. So I clicked back and started the vid……she sat down instantly right infront of the tv, quietly……I think she has a thing for camper. 😂❤

FYI - Showering doesn't get poison oak off. You literally just need a towel & you need to vigorously scrub the oil away. Once the oil is off, you're good..

I don't know who I like more but, let's face it, Camper is the star of the show. I've always kinda wanted to do this but, you can't live in a van. What's wrong with you? But you've been such an inspiration... when I retire in a couple years I'm building out a van and setting off across the country. As someone that lived in SD for nearly 20 years and then had to move to Wisconsin for work this video makes me equal parts happy and incredibly sad. My wife and I got married outside just down the block from where you guys camped. That city is awesome, even though you visited during prime May Gray/June Gloom time. If you end up there again head downtown to Lola 55 for some seriously life changing tacos!

Beautiful San Diego, I lived there for more than 30 years before moving to Oregon and then to Arizona.

I sold my condo in Lajolla about 10 year's ago. I loved dog beach and Coronado. Sandiego is awesome still have family in Sandiego 🙂

So glad to see you in my home town. There are so many great beaches here and camping areas in and around the city. Hope you've enjoyed it. Dog beach wasn't always there, but it's been one of the best additions. Wish more beaches were open to dogs, but tourism and all. Ocean Beach (OB), Mission Beach (MB) and Pacific Beach (PB) were all hang outs of mine. Not sure how camper would like it, but if you're still here on or around the 4th of July, the San Diego Country Fair is going on up at the Del Mar Race Tracks and they always have great fireworks seen for miles. Not all pups can handle it though. Again, happy to have you here and hope it's been a great time for you both.

Huh! This video is very nostalgic for me. I was in the navy station there and owned my own van, and when I felt like it I went to all the beaches to go body surfing. I spent nights in my van at Ocean Beach. However, what it looks like now is how it looked back then. There definitely went that many van at that beach when I slept there overnight. It was me and perhaps a couple of cars scared around. The place you spent overnight with Chad I had never been to. You had Coronado Island in the background. Ships have a different colored paint job than I remember. I’m sure it has properties to my it stealthy to electronic scanning devices. But the ideal place to have met up at would have been Sunset Cliffs. Oh wait, the sky was overcast, so it wouldn’t have made a difference. No glorious sunsets to watch. I had a similar accident with a skateboard going down the to to launch boats into a lake. I jumped off the board to get out of the way of trucks. My leather sole sandals just slid out from underneath me and I had some large patch of road rash on my tush, back and elbow. Which took weeks to heal. I didn’t get off as easy as you did. I haven’t learn my lesson though I still own a longboard skateboard, and if I was there with you two that ps what I would have rode along with you. So what did you guys have for diner? Oh Chad’s garage area set up is awesome with an innovative design I liked. So you know how they can detect blood splatter with a black light. I’m wondering if there’s a light that can detect poison oak, ivy, or sumacs? This way you know where it’s located on your body or in your vehicle. It was nice to stroll down memory lane, but the place ain’t like it used to be. Too crowded.

A couple of things: Don’t get overconfident with those locking diffs. In the early 1960’s I lived in La Mesa, CA briefly. I miss the area sometimes. Ask around about Mount Helix. Go there-You’ll find something special on the summit. In Balboa Park go to the Automotive Museum. Observe the Mattar Cadillac. You, of all people, will have a unique appreciation for that car(no ordinary ‘47 Cadillac, mind you). Safe travels from Minnesota.

@NikkiDelventhal One of the best Uploads ever! First, seeing Chad and spending time with him was awesome. Chad was my initial Creator for #Vanlife and back when he had the Westfalia Volkswagen were some of the best. The detailed way he would go about showing his bushwhacking skills was unparalleled on You Tube. Then, later, seeing Nikita Crump and her Fiance' and spending time with that Group was epic. You should definitely think about getting more collaborations with these other Creator Groups. I hope they did some content filming themselves that they'll upload. Nikita just started doing full You Tube Channel Uploads and her content has been largely Reels and Shorts, except for the Builds. She recently did a lengthy video on "Hate Mail" where she discussed some of the misconceptions about her content. That seems to be a good subject and one you should do more often as well.

Nice antique shops there too, if you've a mind to browse. La Jolla was my special place back in the 1950s and was never crowded then. Hard to imagine today. Be well always!

Chad was the first van life video I started to watch - his drone / camera work of the back country was so cool for someone outside of the US to see more of the stunning scenery.

awww Camper ripping that box was priceless I love watching any animal be 100% an animal or themselves... Dogs howling literally is like music to my ears it almost makes me cry its so instinctual and amazing and I've never had a pup that I could get to howl.... I have a 2 1/2 year old little boy (human) lol that does things that are instinctual that weren't taught to him and it has the same effect on me if not greater

Yup, lived there for 4 years with my other pup. She passed away in SD in 2011 and I left SD soon after. Returned to san diego 11 years later with my buddy, who I adopted 5 years later after my girl said goodbye. We were back in SD in september, october 2022. Delmar is a great dog beach too. Coronado as well. SD is great for dogs. Can even get to snow in October at Mt. Laguna, check out the Outpost bar/restaurant on Mt. Laguna someday.
