All roads lead to Keighley as Stanier-designed LMS 4-6-0s 45596 Bahamas, 45690 Leander and 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier make light engine movements to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in the Winter of 2022/23.
This is awesome, one of the BEST railway steam videos I have seen for years; and the sound, spot on. An extremely creative approach to what is the unwatched and unnoticed night-time movements and activities of what seems to be a lonely signal box in a rural location handling steam traffic which, for many, mundane but for the purist, under-represented or filmed. This really is a glimpse, a step back in time, to what used to be a daily, nightly, activity. I find remote railway stations at night one of the most atmospheric places, almost church-like, to quietly absorb the intrinsic nature and history our our railways. I salute you.
Oh Man you nailed it not once but 3 times. Absolutely awesome . No crowds, no long trains. Just a loco doing what was needed to get home. The single nod from a crew member as it pulled away. A nod of respect for being seeing and recording the forgotten side of both support and things that most photographers wont put themselves out for. magic thanks
Many thanks as ever, much appreciated - I don't think I've ever had Hellifield to myself before so to get it so quiet was a real bonus and added to the atmosphere.
Beutifully done as per usual. The time and care you take giving a real feel for what we love is very special. Can I beg for you to put the 'Black Fives returning from Fort William' on again. I can't understand why it didn't seem more popular as still honestly think it's one of the best you've ever done.
Pure genius David, the care and skill you’ve displayed to capture these scenes, not usually witnessed by many, to create a truly magical sequence is worthy of the highest praise.
Fantastic as ever David , well worth burning the night oil to capture these amazing images. Leander looked like a rally car with the twin lights on the front 😂
Superb scenes from Hellifield David, as I’ve said before there’s something to be said about after dark recordings which all add to the atmosphere of which you are a master at, cheers nige 👍
I’ve caught both Scot’s guardsman and 44932 the locos based in carnforth at earlswood working a tour for the first time to William Shakespeares birth place
Nice video great camera work as usual I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on RU-vid bye for now Philip
Leander will be missed from the mainline sadly as she was withdrawn from mainline service in October 2023. Had the priviledge of travelling behind her when she hauled her final railtour however which was September 30th's "Cumbrian Coast Express".
She will indeed David - I hope you had a good trip around the Cumbrian Coast on her last working - I was out for that also and she sounded in excellent nick: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5LeB98OkoFs.html
