This is great, you're not even running at the lowest so it's possible to remove those dips and lows, doing some ini changes could make the game perform even better aswell, nice video

Steam deck has 2 built in mics(the holes on the top of the glass). It just needs to be enabled in the game's menu. For Apex, you can set it to Open Mic if you don't want to assign it to one of the buttons for Push to Talk.

i tried playing with my steam deck on apex and the game wouldnt load not even screen it would pop up steam loading circle and crash how do i fix that

I played this last night. There was a new Steam OS update to v3.3. After the update Apex will need to precache Vulkan shaders which took about 20 minutes. Assuming you didn't cancel out of that step, delete the game and reinstall it.

Is it easier to played on steam deck controller or better just hooked up with xbox controller? Currently playing on xbox series X and planning to grab steam deck..

It is not easier. The button spacing is different. Also the acceleration curves on the analog sticks are different than a PS4 or Xbox controller. You'll have to manually make a preset so the stick response is closer to a console controller.

@@John4Real it really isn't, you can change the deadzones and response curves and it feels fine. you can also, if you wanted to, manually swap out the steam deck analog sticks to hall effect joysticks for no deadzone

This is the PC version of Apex. You can download Apex Mobile for iOS, but it's a differenet game. I also have uploads of Apex Mobile on iPad Air 4 and M1 Pro.

Apex doesn't have aim assist. You can verify this in Firing Range with a friend. Turn on friendly fire. It only gives a very slight tug while hip aiming and only when very close to an enemy. It does nothing past 20 feet and nothing aiming down sights. If you hip fire semi-auto almost every shot will miss up close. If you do full auto up close it does nothing to cancel the muzzle climb pattern on your gun. Also the acceleration curves using Steam Deck analog sticks is different than using a PS or Xbox controller.

@@Mike5GSR Apex do very well have aim assist and it helps A lot. I've been playing on pc since start and switched to controller and oh my.. No cap big difference.

Yes. You'll need to go into the Steam menu and select ReOrder controllers to make the Xbox the primary controller. I do not consider what Apex does as aim assist. You can turn on friendly fire in the Firing Range with a friend to test it. It does not help with aiming.

Is it possible to use the right trackpad at the same time as the left joystick? I’m wanting to have a bit of a hybrid setup as I can’t aim with a joystick on right hand but can use the trackpad

Yes. I've briefly experimented with that input combo. I haven't figured out yet if there's a way to change the sensitivity or acceleration curve on the trackpad. It's says it's 1:1 in the Steam menu. For Apex it makes it really easy to control recoil on guns, but it's a lot of effort to turn since you have to swipe your thumb multiple times.
