I'm glad you went into detail about why the steam deck might be a better portable gaming platform for some people. I heard it in a vague sense from other reviewers but they didn't really explain clearly. Your example puts it into perspective thanks
Im loving the fact that the Steam deck has fulfilled its purposes for existing, one of them is to actually push this idea of handheld devices to be more produced. People might prefer either the Deck or ally, but I think everyone can collectively agree that if it wasn't for valve's idea to push this idea that none of this would've happened.
I guess Nintendo is just chopped liver? I mean all of these devices LITERALLY are just copying the idea and design of a switch entirely... Sure they are effectively PC's instead of a "console" per say... But lets not give so much credit to steam when Nintendo basically started this trend...
handheld PCs have been a thing for long (Valve is not the one that started this) since Ayaneo, and GPD, however they are expensive and out of touch for common people ... Valve just kicked the door on pushing the handheld PC space on making it affordable and accessible.
@@Am4t3r4su so because the steam deck and other pc handhelds have controllers and a screen in the middle that means that they are copying Nintendo? Does that also mean Nintendo copied the psp and ps vita?
I love the steam deck but my best friend recently bought the Legion go and you can really see it's still in it's early stages like the steam deck was at launch,I really like the legion Go as device and that screen size feels like it's the perfect size for me as the steam deck screen is a tiny tad to little for me. Both are great devices and lenovo joining the portable pc handheld market with their own innovations seems like a good thing for the future.
@@aternialaffsalot But somehow it still has the best UI/UX of all handhelds to come out after it. Not everything is a numbers game, remembering about ease of use for your consumer plays a big part in capitalizing the market. The Go also still has the worst UI of all the handhelds on the market.
@@FiberFrenzy That OS is what puts it above the rest. The console like pick up and play experience that none of these other companies can get right. And then on top of that, Valve *still* allows you to put windows on the device if you want to.
@@aternialaffsalot I’ll be using it almost daily, if I remember you after 2 years atleast I’m make sure to let you know if the hardware aged fine or not 👍
This video is pretty much the entire decision making I had to go through in the last week in picking between the 3. I ordered the OLED. I have a fairly top end gaming laptop for work and heavier games or more framerates + stream. The OLED was the go to in my specific case.
Personally, for handheld gaming devices I think that battery life, heat, fan noise, ease of use, stable performance, and a pick up and play nature are the main priorities. I think the Steam Deck hits the right balance of these attributes. I have a powerful desktop PC and a PS5 for when I want even greater performance.
Rog Ally - Performance Productivity And Portability, Monster Legion Go - Switch Lovers Paradise With Room To Grow No Matter Proficiency of Buyer On Windows And Multimedia Lovers Wet Dream. Steam Deck - Like A Cadillac Of Gaming Always A Comfortable Ride And User Friendly Always Doing What It Does Well Also A Modders Best Friend.
Yeah was on the fence between Go and SD Oled. Got the SD Oled in the end and I'm quite amazed with ease of use and how it performs. Having good desktop PC is my go to for gaming new AAA titles and game pass but Steam Deck fits the bill for older games and AAA before 2021 which I have a ton of backlog on steam so every time Im not at home Ill have this baby to get me by :D. Oled visuals with HDR are jaw dropping like seriously Ori and Divine Original Sin 2 just pops more than on my lg oled tv which doesn't hit 1k nits. One thing to realize that on oled display older games and indie titles ie Vampire Survivors just look great.
As older guy looking to enter the gaming world the Legion Go seems more attractive. That way if I decide I’m not much of a gamer or succumb to frustration I can still use it as a tablet. I am going to buy the Legion glasses to go with it.
Sold my Steam Deck and bought a Legion Go. Not a perfect device but I have no regrets. The bigger/better screen, more power, and having access to all my games from multiple store fronts make the annoyance of windows worth it to me. I mainly use it during my commute to and from work, which is about 3 hours total round trip. With my power bank, the battery life is more than enough for that.
@@Tass... I never understood why people hate windows on these handhelds so much. The steam deck and the legion go have track pads if you find touch to be inconvenient. Even on my Ally it’s not a problem once you switch to desktop mode. Isn’t Steam OS basically just steam big picture mode? Just set it to open at startup and it’s the same thing 🤷🏾♂️
Okay there are several reasons. The main one is that something like steam OS gives a genuine console like experience. You can turn it off and resume it whenever you like and the OS is very console like. You don't even ever have to interact with Linux if you don't want to. That's very appealing to many people. No interruptions for windows updates. No having to check for driver updates. No tiny little clumsy boxes you have to try and interact with on a windows touchscreen. Then you have power consumption. Waaay higher. When you add all this up and the argument for the Legion Go is just "it has a bigger screen and is more powerful" you are then essentially just making an argument for a windows laptop which will have a better battery and more power that you can use an Xbox controller on for the same price as a Legion Go. At that point why do you even want a handheld console? Because at that point I see no real benefit. A handheld is supposed to offer convenience. There is absolutely NOTHING convenient about having a windows OS on a small screen. It's not designed to be handheld friendly. Steam OS is built from the ground up to be on a handheld. Very different user experiences.
Thanks for the review, Glad i found this video, I have watched a ton of reviews on the two today and you are the only one who has mentioned that the steam deck can be "turned off" and picked back up just like a switch but the Legion go not being able to do that. I was 90% certain i was getting the Legion go but was trying to find how it looked when in sunlight, you just changed my mind, off to by my steam deck. A little sad, i wanted to play kingdom hearts out in the hammock this summer
@@crestofhonor2349 That’s one thing that I like about the Rog Ally, it’s small and easy to carry around. Especially with a carry case and backpack. Windows is just too finicky with non desktop devices.
I think the issue that handheld developers are having that Valve figured out. Is that hand held gaming isn't about just cramming the best tech you can into it. It's about building a system that works in harmony with itself and provides a great over all experience. The issue is, a lot of these companies are PC companies and the trend with PCs is to just stuff the latest and greatest into them. And while that works there, we are seeing with Steam Deck still being the industry standard, that mentality doesn't carry over well to this market. Handhelds need to be built to be great handhelds.
This guy knows, I had the Ally for a week and said nope. They didn't think about the user at all. Not to mention, all the flaws included the memory card issue!! Legion Go FTW!!
I also got the new steam deck. It's really great. I highly recommend the anchor to try haolocm's ar screen protector, which can lower the reflection of the oled screen.
I relate to the Galaxy Fold analogy. I had Galaxy Fold 3 and switched to an iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPad mini for less than the price of a Galaxy Fold 4 at the time which is crazy. Using it like a regular phone sucks.
Im a current Xbox Gamer who plays mainly MW3 Due to being a dad and not wanting to block our main TV , I want to get a handheld console to play MW3 on (possibly somewhere down the line games like god of war, red dead redemption or similar but I’m not into Indy games or such PC stuff) Having this in mind, do any of you guys have helpful input on which handheld to get ? I actually just ordered the Steam Deck OLED 1TB yesterday but thinking about returning it and going with the Lenovo legion go instead (not really interested in the ROG Ally as I prefer the bigger screen) I heard that getting MW3 to run on the Steam deck is quite the hassle due it not using windows 11 and the anti cheat thing So any help or input is highly appreciated
@@bigpoppa5759 feel you! I went with the ROG ALLY and I must say I’m pretty happy with it Only downside is the battery life is pretty poor However it does not bother me too much as I play only at home anyway Lately I havent played since about 4 months because of the warmer months and more activities but overall I’m happy with the purchase Played COD, Marvels Spider-Man and God of war 👌🏻
Edit: I was your 667th like. I saved you from Satan! Haha. This is a fantastic comparison. Good job. My thought on the legion go is similar to what you said. Why get the legion go when you can just buy a small gaming laptop? Then the battery life just doesn’t make sense. I own android based gaming handhelds(Odin 2 Pro and Retroid Pocket 3+) and let me tell ya, you don’t know battery life until you’ve used one of those. Those things last for days on end. But you can’t play really any steam games or anything unless you stream them and that technology just isn’t there yet in my opinion. That’s why I bought a steam deck oled. It’s like the best of every world. I can emulate anything basically, I have access to my huge steam library, I can stream games on it, and if I want I have the option to tinker and get game pass or epic games going on it. To me, the steam deck oled just makes the most sense for everything I personally want to play. The battery life is decent too. Lastly, you know people are going to throttle down the legion go to a lower resolution and lower wattage to gain battery life, basically making it a steam deck with a slightly larger screen. What’s the point? Just get a steam deck.
I just bought mine from best buy for 400, too. But I had a bunch of gift cards from over the years so I only spent 50 dollars of my own money for it. And for 50 dollars, I think it's the best out of the three.
the proportions are mess with my head, first time when i purchase the steam deck and i saw it ( come from switch) i was mind blow how big it was now i ordered legion go and I WILL be amazed again for that big screen
Thinking of getting the legion go I love big screens 8.8 is enough for me. And in a couple of months for gaming / tv watching and emulation but can it run Pcvr 🤔 like quest 2 and 3
When your talking about an upgrade from the deck the Legion is the Upgrade that the deck should of did...meaning bigger display 8 Inchs or more...the hardware Legions z1 chip which makes gaming that great for those AAA titles oled can't play so for the extra bucks Legion is its worth every penny ...
Damn. I’m debating on which to get. I had the first steam deck but sold it due to needing the funds. What I agree about it was just that I could not access my Xbox games (Cloud gaming is an instant no go for me, too much latency, and can’t play delisted games). I mainly want a windows handheld for 1: forzas. And for 2: I want to play cyberpunk with mods lol. I’m leaning towards the Go. Mainly for the bigger screen. And also that I hear the Go runs games way better than the ally
I have the steam deck and legion go plus a desktop and ROG laptop. My laptop gets no use. At home I use my big comfy desktop. On the go I play call of duty on the legion go. If my battery dies I pull out my steam deck from my backpack and play street fighter or maybe mortal Kombat. The ROG laptop needs to be plugged in to get the performance and doesn’t have built in controller.
So does the resolution not make that much of a difference on the legion go? I'm not so much concerned with portability/battery issues, I'll be using it around the house/in bed. You've sold the issues you experience with the legion go. But do you never find yourself playing the steam deck and look over to your legion go and think "man this game would run better/look better on the legion go, I think I'll pick that up instead". That's my biggest concern that's stopping me buying between the two just now. Everyone says steam deck, but I'm concerned I'll regret not getting the higher resolution/better fps on go. What is the actual REAL resolution that most games are ran at on legion go? I think if I knew that, I might realize it's not that drastic of a difference. But I went from 1080 to 1440 on pc and couldn't go back. Then when I went from 1440 to 4k I felt I couldn't go back. So it's really stopping me deciding which to get.
Half the time I put the legion on standby ( or ally) when I go back to it the screen is stuck black from being on standby and I have to to a hard shutdown. It would be huge if they could improve sleep mode to be like the deck
I have ROG ally Steamdeck OLED And steam deck LCD My ROG ally only functions as a medium for watching RU-vid and Netflix. My LCD steamdeck now being used by my 7 year old son. And I myself am now using an OLED steamdeck for personal gaming use. Sorry ally
I had sd oled and now got legion , Legion is way better the fact you got windows and steam on Legion and bigger screen makes it a game changer and with Xbox cloud built in and you can get the ps play app which is miles better than chiaki
Nobody talks about not being able to play most AAA online games on the steam deck. Like to play cod or bf? To bad the anticheat wont work so you cant play it.
Not a pc person at all but I picked up the SD OLED and was incredibly surprised at how much I loved it. My sister, a switch fan, tried mine out and she ended up buying one as well. Taking it to work after Christmas to let a few coworkers give it a spin.
@TechSpaceCowboy I know you've talked about thus before, but how „bad“ is the input latency on the (Oled) Steam Deck really? I really want one, but am concerned the input lag is gonna destroy the experience for me...
Normal steam deck is 6/120 frames Steam deck oiled is 4/120 frames PC, PS5, Ally, Go, Xbox, are all about 3/120 frames when I do a 120fps test So it’s a lot better. I was competitive on my deck, however still not as good as the others
@@TechSpaceCowboy thank you for the fast response :) But how noticeable is this 4/120 to 3/120 difference really? And what about when I play a game in the Steam Deck on like 40 fps, is it still about 4/120?
That what i said before. If i want to play AAA games in Windows. Why would i buy Lenovo Go. I would rather buy and play on a LAPTOP at the same price but much powerful.
Your comment aabout wanting a 120hrtz screen for the refresh rate on the steam deck is weird, having a higher refresh rate always means it is loosing a lot more in terms of it's battery life.
@@TechSpaceCowboy I’m just saying cause 120hrtz tanks the battery life on any device, even on my phone there is a noticeable difference in battery when you switch to 60hrtz.
I think this answers pretty well. The steam deck is software tuned to be a console as good as the Switch with access to the Steam library instead. The Legion Go is by far a better gardware device with the caveat if youre willing to force windows to run on it, as it's already costing battery, but no where close to as tablet or gaming console friendly.
For me, the Steam Deck wins out in the areas that matter, quality control, ease of use and battery life. Would I like to have better specs? Yes, but not at the expense of battery life, and I think this is where Valve got the right balance with the Steam Deck, basically, from videos online, the Legion Go seems to perform worse than the Deck at 15 watts and in some cases, a lot worse, but when giving it 20 watts or more, it performs better, which for me defeats the purpose of being a portable device, especially considering that historically speaking with portable gaming devices over the decades, weaker ones that have better battery life tend to do better than ones with better specs. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have better specs, but I'm mindful of the purpose of getting one of these devices, which is to play games and I find that gamers play games differently on portable devices then at home, probably because if I want to play higher end gaming with a lot of the bells and whistles, I would play them on my gaming rig and big screen, whereas portable devices for me feels like a pickup and play a bit, put it down, play some more a little later on so on, which for me, the Steam Deck is perfect for that. I also like the idea that a lot of things are taken care off for you with the Deck, you don't have to worry about updating the bios, drivers, OS, setting them all up and maintaining it and that for me is the biggest weakness of the Legion Go and ROG, it's a generic Windows PC with all the problems that come with that, which ironically, they would be more appealing if there were a SteamOS option that's fully supported and integrated like it is with the Deck, and in the end, the Steam Deck is the closes we've got to a hybrid PC/console, with a lot of the openness of a PC and much of the ease of use of consoles, that for me is why the Steam Deck wins by a long shot.
So for the legion go 90% of modern games cannot run 1440p, however all the old games can and will look a bit better. And then for me I have never played in 720p once, always 1080. There is definitely some games where i can only get 40-50fps after lowering settings; but there is the amd fsr for a lotta games now which is awesome. And the dynamic resolution scaling too. I have tried playing in 720p but playing in 1080p with a 80% resolution scale with 10-20 lower fps is a better experience for me at least. I cant imagine having to play these old games in 720p like come on its 2023. The steam deck having the OLED tho really makes the 720p games look soooo much better. I have a oled switch and the lower res looks much better with vibrant colors and deep blacks.
Man the Lenovo is absolutely a beautiful handheld. I'm still fighting on whether i want to get the Lenovo or the zaddy steam deck OLED, they both kind of have their ups and downs like anything but it's a battle in my head & i can't choose! Lenovo's huge screen is what i've always dreamed of plus the LED analog sticks are really beautiful but then the Steam Deck feels a bit more user friendly, more portable & gives more "Gamer" vibes plus it's a lot cheaper & can get the job done. However the Lenovo also has detachable joysticks, which remind me of the Switch which is kind of nostalgic. Then there's that gorgeous OLED screen on the Steam Deck & i go INSANE for OLED screens. Ah! the pain of life & 3rd world problems 😭This is a 10/10 review! Amazing video man
I bought the Legion Go and love it. Steam deck is awesome, but more restricted do to it's OS. Legion Go running on windows 11 means you literally have a PC in your hands, and that means you can do pretty much everything a PC can do.
I know this is late but that gaming laptop you showed performs basically the same as the legion go thats why the z1 is extreme at $699 is a great deal because it’s a basically a 1650 pc in a handheld form
I prefer having the Steam Deck as a companion to my desktop PC. It has a stunning OLED display and the better battery life compared to the Legion Go. The Legion on the other hand is more powerful, but I use my handheld gaming device on-the-go and in those scenarios I don’t need to most power since I play games more casually on the road anyways, all the sweaty games that require the highest possible framerates are played on my desktop gaming PC anyways, I don’t need 144hz display while playing Disco Elysium for example. Also windows is just atrocious to use on these little touch screens, I much prefer having a Linux based Steam OS that’s user friendly.
I still recall when the legion go came out and OLED wasn't announced yet, I went to the Lenovo store just to try it hands on. highly recommend anyone to go try it in your hands first. The screen is great but when the OLED was announced, it's history. Got the limited edition OLED without a thought and sold my old deck. I am glad I didn't buy the legion go becuz it would be a clunky mess to deal with that's Windows!
I got the legion go. Its absolutely amazing pc! Love the fps mode and display is incredible! Call of duty runs buttery smooth. The only downside for me is the controllers, really dislike the feel/button layout. Ps5 controller paired to is amazing.
Ya I haven’t used my deck since I got mine. ..that screen is a big one.. I can’t go back to the deck size, which was my issue before. And the resolution.. omg, resolution..
I haven't played with my Steam deck since I got the Legion Go since launch and now that most of the updates fixed a lot of issues with dead zones ..menus etc. .the device is phenomenal..Legions display is the best size for handheld gaming is just right anything bigger is a overkill
Specially the right joystick I feel it’s way to close to the screen. More precise aiming games you can definitely tell you’re thumb doesn’t set/rest right. I’m really hoping someone releases different controllers versions for the legion go
I'm genuinely glad you enjoy your new device, but you kind of proved the points he made toward the end of the video. You dislike the controllers so instead you use a ps5 controller. For a price of 700+ why not just get a controller and a gaming laptop that would be more powerful + has an actual form factor capable of fully using windows?
I’ve used both the Rog and Steam Deck Oled. I get the appeal of the more powerful handhelds (rog and legion go) for some. While I appreciate a solid 60fps, I’d rather cap at 45 and have a much longer battery life on the oled. Battery life is kind of the point for me. I’ve never been a frame counter and just want my games to work with minimal tinkering
Personally, I say personally, when you’re accustom using oled and hdr, it’s hard to go back to lcd. The steam deck is the perfect handheld gaming pc. Anything else you wanna do, get a console or gaming laptop, even a pc set up. There, it’s my perspective and I would encourage you to get the steam deck ☕️🗿 Ps. It’s steam, games on the go. Windows handhelds? Drivers, updates, viruses, crashes…. Choose wisely.
unless you are in a country that doesn't sell the steam deck, then you might as well get a more powerful windows handheld for about the same price importing the thing
As someone who owns the Ally and the LCD Deck, i can easily say without a doubt in the universe that i’ve spent far more time trying to finesse the correct version of Proton to get my games to run or trying to get practically any multiplayer game to boot given their anticheat of choice etc. The steameck really hard limits the user behind multiple levels of limits: 1: It’s limited lifespan of triple A performance due to its SoC 2. Unless your savvy enough, it’s steam games only. 3. On top of it being steam games only, it’s only SOME steam games only, which even on top of that, then it’s Deck Verified games (not only, granted) I still have my Deck, but it’s running windows now as well. I don’t use it though my girlfriend does and it works great for her. But my Ally, for sure had a shit ton of updates the day i bought it but its pretty much never had to do that since. Every once in a while you’ll get a driver update from Asus but its clearly presented to you and you just tap install and restart and it’s over. And now i can just play literally any PC game I want on any launcher I want from Any era of gaming I want and do it with incredible performance
@@rfx8459 1. The deck came out Feb. 2022, and assuming it was in production a great while before then, it's specs are what it is. Still a hell of a beast. Of course devices that came out later are gonna have better specs. 2. I don't think you have to be "savvy". The SD community is extremely helpful, from reddit to youtube anything you want to do is usually laid out for you step by step. I'm a novice to PC gaming and was able to accomplish a lot with just basic computer knowledge. 3. Much more than just steam-verified games work on the deck. Hell, there are even games the deck can play that the Ally can't due to it's track pads that function as a mouse. Idk, I feel like people like to bring up proton layers and all that stuff to make it sound more complicated than it actually is, when for the most part, it's just going into a sub menu that takes less than 5 seconds lol. Only caveat of the Deck I would say is no EAC support, but even that can be fixed in literally *30 minutes*. Dual-boot windows, and bam. Now you got your Call of Duty, Destiny 2 and your gamepass games. For the price, the deck has quite a lot of value; it's ease of use, it's helpful community, and the variety of things that you can make it do. But most importantly is that if you *don't* want to do any of that and just wanna pick up and play, you can. It's stock experience is great as well.
@@h.serafin1489 I’m pissed that I can’t play any games on my steam deck LCD 512. As soon as I boot up a game maybe 5-10 min in I’ll get a black screen followed by Verifying Installation. @@buckroger6456 honestly it’s pretty dope, I can play whatever I want and the gaming performance is excellent. my biggest concern is Lenovo supporting after their next handheld.
Well this is for an international student, overseas worker or your going on a vacation or on a cruise out of country for a couple of days, going on your parents, friends, brother and sister's house or just renting in a dorm and other more you cannot bring your desktop overseas or in other places that I've mentioned but can still plugged in while playing. You guys should stop including desktop on a portable video because people who watches a handheld review is looking for a handheld not a desktop. TF Why buy a desktop if you can't even bring it anywhere? It will just collect dust and just be useless.
In my opinion, the steam deck is a portable console with retro ps vita and Nintendo switch like style, simple and cool for playing games and emulators on the go without any extra work. Legion Go is a powerful Windows tablet for people who want a powerful device for more than gaming.
how come emulation on the steam deck works easier than the legion go? i just ordered my steam deck oled but have some buyers remorse over the lenovo go. so far i still like the SD oled but may have rushed the order over the lenovo go
I really like the fold analogy. There's things i really love about my fold but tons that really annoy me. I've been debating getting the legion go for a while for what it "can" do. But at the end of the day i just want to be able to pick up my device and play my steam library. This really helped me make my decision. Thanks for the video!
@@traceyclaver6076 OLED Steam deck. Yup I'm happy with it. I had plans of all this cool stuff I wanted to do with legion go but at the end of the day. When I get home from a long day of work and I wanna lay in bed and play some sf6 it's perfect.
@@traceyclaver6076 there's a lot of things to weigh out and everyone is different. I think the handheld PC wars is just getting started. Hope you find what you're looking for.
I agree with your points. I don't currently have a gaming pc or laptop and want something that can kinda be that. I know that if I want power I should go for the Legion Go or ROG Ally but the fact that the former is kinda too heavy to be "portable" and still first gen and the latter lasts less than 2 hours really puts me in dillema. Right now I have definitely ruled out the Ally and am trying to understand which I should go for between deck and Go. Thanks for your insight, I'll watch more reviews. @@pyrom3744
Legion doesn't need VRR... it runs games very smoothly with that 144hz refresh rate..also the updates as of late fixed most of the issues Legion had. So it's night and Day
Just got an ally after I sold my steam deck. Yes, the battery life sucks, but personally I’m fine with that cause the deck’s battery life sucked too. The only handheld that has decent battery life to me is my switch. The tradeoff has been being able to play all of my games with far better performance. The screen is also great and while it’s not oled it’s the best lcd I’ve seen on a handheld. Also, VRR is great for someone who’s very sensitive to frame drops like me. The only thing I can say though is don’t buy this at full price, I got an open box Z1 Extreme for 500 at best buy and it works/looks great.
I'm hoping Microsoft implements a proper handheld / TV mode for Windows that: - Boots straight into a handheld / TV interface. No login / lock screen crap unless I want to. - Is easy to navigate with a controller. - Blocks annoying popups from taking over. - Integrates all stores and their games. - Integrates device-specific settings into the Settings App. - Forces manufacturers to distribute their apps and drivers through a unified update system like Windows Update.
i get 3-8 hrs on most games on my steam deck oled the battery is 2x better than the original lcd model, u’ll probably only get 1-1.5 hrs on the ally lol
Skyrim gives you ~3 hrs on the Switch vs ~4 hrs on the Deck (at better settings on the Deck mind you). If you play Switch level games on the Deck you'll get similar or maybe even better battery life.
@@SvGPlayer831same here play mostly indie games.. but whats makes me surprised i did able to play stardew valley in 5w for about total of 11hrs without plugging in. And plus the inferior sleep/ resume mode of deck helps me alot
Im torn between the two tbh i have a ps5 and sx for new AAA gaming and would use the hand held for games i never pkayed from the past like mad max and arkham knight for example and some old clasics i like but anything new id play on my qd oled on my ps5. The sound of the fans on the go is a turn off a little cause playing in bed or anywhere someone's trying to relax would probably anoy them
Wouldn’t it be nice if the battery of handhelds lasted 10 hours? Hopefully in a few years we’ll get that 🤞. Personally, I prefer the Legion Go to the steam deck, but the steam deck is still nice.
I’m going to be honest, I have an Ally and I’ve been considering upgrading to a LeGo for the bigger screen and also looked at all the Windows PC handhelds with a >=8” screen size (A1 Pro, Kun, OneXPlayer 2 Pro, Win Max 2, etc).. I’ve also tried my best to steer clear from all the Deck stan cries for “gEt A StEaM DeCk”.. but this review has honestly been the final blow and I’m now sold on just getting a damn Steam Deck OLED. I’m going to be commuting via train a lot here soon and I know that sleep suspend feature is just going to come in clutch as well as no longer having to fiddle around with Windows jank. I have a gaming PC. If I want to do more than the Steam Deck can handle, I’ll just play on the PC or stream to it. I’ve noticed I’m mostly playing lighter games on my Ally anyway - PSP emulation, Skyrim, some Switch which the Deck should be fine for handling. Thanks for the review, subbed.
Hope that Microsoft will further improve on the interface of Windows OS when comes to handheld device/console. It is just not that user friendly to use a handheld device the same way with a laptop/desktop. It is like people is using iPhone but running with MacOS instead of iOS.
Playing 60 fps games while having display set to 120hz makes no difference then 60hz ... You need 120fps stable to use 120hz ... Or let's say locked 60 or 100 fps and VRR on
