Steam - How to Fix GTA 5 Not Launching! | Complete 2024 Guide 

MY FIX !!!This did not work for me. BUT I did after months of trying to figure it out, finally found my problem. The GPU. It was the GPU. After launching Task Manager I noticed that GPU 0 3D was set as the GPU engine. That shouldn't be. So I opened up the NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL and clicked on "Manage 3D settings" then opened up "Program Settings". Under "Select a program to customize " I found " Grand Theft Auto V (gta5.exe). Scrolling down to "OpenGL rendering GPU" I found that the game was not using my video card at all. It was on " Auto-select". I just opened that setting up and set the game to use my Video Card . It worked. That was the problem the whole time. Now I don't understand why NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL wouldn't just set my NVIDIA CARD as default but oh well.

Thank you man! I thought I completely toasted my game for a second. Tried a bunch of different game versions and game configurations, DLC lists and a whole bunch of other surface issues. Was just about to wipe it clean and start a fresh game setup but saw this and it worked for me right away. Thanks again 🤙

No, Not worked with me. When I open GTA V from stream, Rock star error appears "A game is currently running. Grand Theft Auto V is currently running. By choosing to exit, Grand Theft Auto V will be quit and any unsaved progress will be lost."
