Want to give a little info. W. Va means West Virginia. Mothman and Jersey Devil are not the same. Mothman is said to be seen before disasters and isn't really considered bad, but an omen. Mothman is known to be seen first in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, but has possibly been seen in other places that have had disasters, like New York before 9/11 and Japan before the tsunami that messed up all of those power plants. From stories I've heard most of the testimonials in the game were from real life. Hope this helps.
I only just learned about Mothman's story a couple years ago thanks to Expedition X. Kind of wish I had known about this strange story sooner... it does make one wonder if the cryptid is real?
there's a "myth" that powerplant workers saw it around the NPP in Chernobyl before the meltdown and on the bridge of death where residents where watching the fire and received a deadly dose of radiation. No idea if it's tru or a made up internet story though.
@@Foxtrot12345 It's not, 9/11 had A LOT of eyes in the skies that day, if Mothman was indeed real someone would have seen it, it's basically the same as those "Big Foot sightings" that to this day still get claimed, just a lot of tomfoolery.
I was born and raised in Parkersburg, Wv. A few hours from Point Pleasent. This is all you heard about from the locals. Fun story: I purchased a book at a local book store about the Mothman. There was a paragraph saying that the cave where the Mothman would stay was in Parkersburg, Wv. On Quincy Hill. More like a deep cut into the side of the hill, but I use to explore it. Unfortunately, they have flatten out that cave now and is no longer there. I'm so glad to see a good Mothman game taking inspiration from the true lore and history. Thanks for playing this Fooster!
Thank you, fooster, for making my day better. I am sitting in the hospital again. I have a golf ball size tumor in my head and watching your videos make my day alot better then in pain
hey get well ..... last time I was in the hospital an older guy came in and said to the doctor hey doc i can't hear our of this ear so the doctor took out his otoscope and looked in the mans ear and then said well here's your problem you have a suppository in your ear the old man says well damn it any way guess I know where my hearing aid is then .. HAGD
Tip to the devs: Old landline phones didn't rely on power to the house because they had their own power source. They would work in a power outage unless the phone line was knocked out. Consolidation and conglomeration is rarely a good thing.
For the record both the Jersey Devil and Mothman have been connected to disasters according to legend the Jersey Devil was sighted on December 7th 1941, the day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, and Mothman was sighted before the Silver Bridge Collapsed in December of 1967 as for the man in the suit, that is Indrid Cold, also know as the “Smiling Man” he is an urban legend that is often connected to Mothman.
First of all, are we sure it was the father that died and not the son? I've never seen anyone so comatose after seeing WHATEVER that thing was! I would have been back in my truck and halfway home by the time that thing disappeared. Just sayin.... Also, thank you Foster for ringing that doorbell. 😂 Not only do I have my little Pomchi (Pomeranian Chihuahua mix) but I am puppy sitting his litter brothers. Yep, had to calm them down as they barked at nothing haha. I decided I had better wear my headset after that LOL. No, we don't hate you for that. They were all napping, and it was good that they all got up and expended a little energy looking for the delivery man in the front yard (and weirdly enough, in the backyard lol)
Was about to comment this. I guess this game is made by a young dev that never had one. I grew up with one at my parents house and the power comes through the landline.
i gues there is not old people making this game... then they will have known that the phone do not go out when the power goes out. it has its own power in the phoneline
DDT gave me chills... Can cause ' breast cancer, diabetes, decreased semen quality, spontaneous abortion, and impaired neurodevelopment in children' Great ole early 20th century chemistry.
Here is some information about the mothman that I found from a book: The Mothman was first spotted in Point Pleasant in 1961 by two people driving past Chief Cornstalk's hunting grounds, a park named after a Shawnee Indian who died here fighting the British in 1774. Since then, Cornstalk has been haunted here On an icy night in December 1967, the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River collapsed in Point Pleasant in the middle of rush hour, killing 46 people. Monster hunters blame the mothman for it A woman who met the mothman dropped her baby in fright (it remained unharmed).
The mothman has been known to be the harbinger of bad things to come an omen, where as the jersey devil is a winged creature that haunts the pine barrens of New Jersey, it's suppose to look like a head of a horse, the body of a strange looking dog with claws and bat like wings, it flies around The pine Barrens (a national forest or state park) in New Jersey.
Another scarefest! My day is made! Thanks to you, I just bought my first gaming pc and having a blast on Steam. Love all your play throughs! A big thanks!! Please don’t ever stop!
It's the morhman you are thinking about, he is believed to have been seen by several people before the silver bridge incident in 1967, I do believe it was a month or two before the bridge collapse that people started reporting sightings of the morhman.
Regarding the pathology report. Edema (or oedema in UK English) is essentially fluid build-up in deeper skin layers, leading to swelling. Erythema is redness of the skin from increased blood flow. So as described in the left, he had redness and swelling of the skin around the eyes.
Hey Fooster, have you seen _The Mothman Prophecies_ with Richard Gere? It's one of those movies that I saw as a kid that, whenever I look back on it, still seems very surreal and dreamy, even though it was pretty mainstream. It also takes place in Point Pleasant.
I was on party-line telephone, back in the day, and like others have said phone doesn't stop working when no power. Unless the whole pole went down. Newer generations just don't think of that when designing programs/games
It's weird but the mothman sightings happened during the month i was born 1967, November just before the bridge there collapsed, so it has been almost 58 years ago! God, i feel old! ha ha
Home from the train show, sit back, relax, take a nap-NEW FOOSTER VIDEO!!! Hmm… any badgers to pet, my Farcry Primal Bite Club Brother? My childhood poodle’s ghost is probably barking now thanks to your fascination with doorbells. A more somber note, but maybe something to consider: I know your dad is proud of you, Fooster, wherever his soul is now, resting or watching over you. If you can, maybe do something special on his birthday to let him know we all appreciate him, even though he’s no longer with us? Hearing the waver in your voice early on in the video when you heard the narration of the game saying “it had been six years since the fight with my dad”, it told me you thought of yours upon hearing that narration. He raised an amazing young man. So, why not do something special on his birthday in memory like a livestream some day? That way, we could all join in with you. Never met my own father, myself, but would gladly remember yours with you.
Bratha 30 seconds in and I find out it’s a bout a blody mothman??? FOOSTER, I AM TERRIFIED OF BUTTERFLIES (and anything that resembles them, aka moths...) It’s time I face my fears... the things I do to support you man T-T
We used to live a few miles from Point Pleasant . Very small community. Very beautiful area in the foot hills of the Appalachian mountains. Nestled along the eastern banks of the Ohio River on WV Rt 2. Go south along route 2 and drive along the river through some beautiful land . While headed that way stop by Hill Billyhit dogs for s fun and tasteful lunch. Lol. We lived on whe west side of the river off of Ohio rt7 a few miles south of that area. Thanks for sharing thus game
Honestly, the only problem I have is the phone bit. 14:10 Power lines run separate from phone lines and actually carry a small electrical current. That’s what made them ring. But the power going out would not necessarily mean the phone would go out as well. Ask anyone that grew up before cell phones were invented. Other than that, seems like a really fun and creepy game. Great job. And I love Fooster’s reactions to literally everything 😂.
Foost on your next channel logo you've got to incorporate a flashlight! Every video is a "lumen check!" Haha.. love both you and fisks videos, much love from bonnie scotland.
OMG I’m old!! 😂😂 you can still make phone calls on a landline when the power is out! Phone lines draw power from a complete separate source than the power supply the house runs on! This is something that only people who are old enough to have used landlines will know and it’s something that makes me laugh every time I see the younger generation get wrong 😂😂
Hey fooster, you should play the demo for a game called We Harvest Shadows, the creator is a really interesting guy and the game seems right up your alley
Bud, I hate to say it, but I don't think you'd last a week in a country home. Noises of all kinds are common, but you don't panic. The power goes out now and then, but you don't panic. You see things (lived near Wright Patt for most my life and, yes, you see things), but you don't panic. Aliens/UFOs may come by, but you don't panic. Anyone from the city will likely have a rough time in an area like this because they all seem to go nuts over the slightest things, but us country folk will tell you, out there, it's just part of life.
I think, when you are stressed or afraid, you start laughing and when you laugh, you make me laugh too. I can admit that Scary game with you becomes fun instead of scary. Scary game only with you Fooster💫✨Thank you for playing this game.
I’m almost two hours from point pleasant. They have a festival every year for the mothman that’s pretty fun .the TNT bunkers are pretty cool to visit and erie at night !
The man who got out of the space craft was indrid cold.. he was called "the grinning man", thats the man you saw in the window. VERY interesting story of him and the guy who saw and spoke to him "Woodrow derenberger". He said indrid didn't verbally speak to him but did it telepathically. There's interviews with Woodrow and documentaries about the whole thing. The mothman is one of the most interesting cryptids out there. I highly recommend watching some of the documentaries. It's about time somebody made a game based on it.
14:15 Lol! Real! So many years ago there was a power outage during the night, and it was right after we finished watching the first Fright Night movie. I had taken my shower and the bathroom light had gone out mid-shower! 😂
"How was the phone ringing? The power had gone out" Well, you see, the game developer doesn't know how phones work. They can work off the voltage in the phone line, which is separate from the power lines.
The story goes, in 1799 a woman who had 12 children who lived with her hubby and kids in a cabin in the pine barrens gave birth to her 13th child, but what she gave birth to was a devil, which flew up the chimney and escaped into the pine barrens and has been wreeking havoc ever since. I think that is how the legend goes with the Jersey devil, i could be wrong, but that is what i was told?
Erythmea is said like: Ah-RITH-mia. Its a heart condition. Hope that helps Fooster. Its when your heart is not beating normally. I almost died from it before when I had reaction to a medicine I first took for a tick bite to prevent tick borne illness.
3 phases of the moon sound a lot like the 'witch' moon phases. Generally represented as a single picture a circle (full moon) and crescent moons on either side of it. Rising moon, Full moon, Descending moon aka maiden, mother, crone.
We have a farm that borders McClintic Wildlife ManagementArea. The area is called TNT because they used to make tnt durning WWII. You can walk to the old bunkers where they stored the tnt. Pretty cool to see a video from you about my backyard❤
TNT isn't explosive it's flammable a common misconception thanks to cartoons, Nitroglycerin is what everyone confuses it for. Got recommended the how to make TNT the other day and probably now on a list for sharing what I learned
You had it right the story goes sometimes they see yhe mothman the day of a disaster, it's not a natural disaster, it's any disaster. Sometimes they see it a day before or after. Look up the story of the bride collapse in point pleasant. Or just look up the mothman on the internet.
0:35 I got a letter. The name on the envelope said "Mary", my wifes name. Ridiculous, it couldn't possibly be true. A dead person can't write a letter...
