I used to know a kid in school who could whistle this entire song. As a result, everyone in class (including the teacher) started calling him "Steamboat Willie". It became his nickname from then on.
@@RedX03 The song used in this RU-vid video is from the Disneyland Resort Official Album, which released in 2013. In the US, under the 1998 copyright term extension act, any works that are renewable have a maximum copyright protection of up to 95 years. So that work will be public domain by 2108 A.D. latest. The short made in 1928 is in the public domain, but the song used in the video is copyrighted.
For those who have never watched the full cartoon ever in your life yet, here is a tl;dr: Steamboat Willie is about a mouse who mutinies against his boss and commits animal abuse. The End
To: Mohit Bansal. Either you hacked someone's account and forgot how to fucking spell, or you created a fake account so people would click your link bullshit. Gfy
Actually this mickey mouse has a colored version which is a bit different than the other infamous one. So we can actually use this version's color scheme
Just one more year and this cartoon is gonna enter public domain. Can't wait to be there. EDIT 2024: Well, finally got by to fix that pesky typo I made (emter instead of enter). Also: yay public domain! 🥳
@@Radder916 No. Forcefully keeping something OUT of public domain is a bad thing. Let's put a stop on creativity alltogether, folks! Disnry wants to make yet another rehash-reallife remake of one of their classics!
Walt Disney is now a star in the sky, but this a relic of the disney, thank you so much for this, Walt Disney, you are a super cool guy! Edit: omg, 77 likes! Thanks everybody!
The funny part is that the “real” version of the beginning (steamboat bill) is so cheerfully morbid, that I honestly struggle to imagine modern Disney using it for anything
And you have a lot of likes, so many people think this is morbid??? Everyone seems to ruin the fun always, and stupid memes full of negativity and some bullshit are always preaised, I hate this world full of fear and hate
@@tntmoxy9697 look up the song “steamboat bill” on RU-vid. It’s a genuinely great and fun song, about a river boat exploding during a time record attempt and killing its captain. In addition, a lot of classic nursery rhymes involve children either dying horribly or coming close too it to a very innocent sounding melody
He now doesn't have to drive the ship alone with his big bro Oswald and their old friend Felix The Cat by their side. Soon enough, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald will also return within 6 years, and the "modern" design of Mickey in around 10 to 11 years. Color and gloves aren't even a problem either because of promotional art from right around the same time. Him and Minnie are no longer forever trapped under the tyranny of a mega corporation. We have won lads.
the fact that this used for cartoon mouse music but distorted is just so good and even mickey is a mouse and cartoon mouse is a mouse they are both mouses
This just makes me feel like I'm in one of those scenes as a character that opens the window soon after getting up from bed and see a bright and shine new day outside starting.
Had the question in bar trivia "true or false beauty and the beast was the first disney musical?" They thought its was true had to pull this up to get my point.
