the steam deck's software allows you to switch the button bindings to be like the Nintendo, but the button caps themselves are keyed in such a way that they can only be put in the way as seen in the video

@@JusFoNo ya I can't deal with buttons being different tho and Noone sells Nintendo button layout to swap them that I've seen

There's a seller on Etsy that sells the Nintendo Super Famicom button layouts in case you're still interested.

Why?

​@@Sneaky_racoon_slyyou can damage it. The internal circuit boards may not be able to handle hot swapping. And the most dangerous thing is accidentally shorting it. Where high voltage goes where it's not supposed to. There's alot of thin wires inside different parts and they will fry and vaporize with too much electricity. So a dropped screw, a misplaced screwdriver, or anything conductive can destroy your device. So, you can't short anything if you remove the source of electricity. Unplugging and disconnecting the battery.

Did you figure out a way to switch it?

there is unfortunately no way to get the steam deck controller to identify with the playstation face buttons, and its a hodgepodge of mods and giving up outright depending on the game you want to have correct face buttons with, and i love every game out there that just lets you pick which style you want (kojima, pretty much every devolver published game - thank you!) but it is not all or even most of them, which is why we should all really be annoying valve more to make the button prompt type of the steam deck controller customizable and able to identify as a dualsense to games that automatically detect controller type. it should technically be possible, but requires a bit of internal working that would really best be done by valve themselves
