The dialogue is great in this "Despite the fact they will obviously kill you" Also I like the brief moment at the end of the house being on fire as usual, rather grim implications this time
- What a great luncheon! Now for a cigarette to make a night complete! Oh! Man that’s good! - Seymour, i was thinking, maybe we should get another smoke detector in case that one trips out on us? - Ho-ho-ho, why bother mother, one smoke detector is enough for an ex-Green Beret. Now let’s hit the sack!
Because he is subconciously beginning to realize that he has been stuck in a time loop since 2018 in which the beginning of every loop erases his memory of the previous loop. He cannot stop it and no longer has any recollection of how he was able to travel back to 1996.
I had a darker interpretation. I thought Skinner lit the house on fire after he smoked his last cigarette because his life is ruined and he doesn't want to live anymore.
Two comments: 1. I can't believe this is the first time I've heard Seymour say "Oh egads, my life is ruined!" in one of these memes, it's so perfect. 2. I had to do a double take after scrolling past that thumbnail. 😅 Ohhhh my.
"Why does there smoke coming out of your ashtray Ceymore?" "I smoked" "You smoked? At this time of year In this part of the country Down by yourself, All alone inside of your kitchen?" "Yeah" "May I try one?" "No" "Ceymore the house is smoked" "No Mother it's just the fog from the swamps nearbye!"
I kid you not there was a job I once worked in a Target store and it wasn't for Target it was for a third party selling cell phones and it was at a time when I was still being trained on the job and still new to everything and sometimes there would be some kind of technical problems I don't actually quite get yet and whenever I wanted to ask my supervisor to help me he was literally never there because he was out in front of the store smoking. I'm not kidding. I mean if we are working long enough shifts the lunch breaks I believe or just half an hour I don't recall it's been a long time since I worked that job, but he'd often be out for like an hour and a half and there wasn't really anything I could do about it because I had to keep handling the customers by myself even though I hadn't been fully trained yet. When he's actually in the store doing his job he really does know what he's doing and he is pretty good at training people but geez he just could not help himself but be taking these incredibly long smoke breaks.
"my life is ruined. but what if...* looks out window *" *realization * " * smokes another cigerate * " * realization that i expected things to take a darker turn *
Seymour set the house on fire to claim insurance and kill his mother consequencially so that he also wouldn't have to take care of her, and ran to Krusty Burger for an alibi, ho ho ho, delightfully psychopathic Seymour
