The way you improvised that steamer with the aluminum was ingenious! I would've have never thought to do that. You're the best, Marion!

Marion, my kitchen muse, this is the video that turned me on to you and now I’m hooked. I made this dish a few days ago and it was spectacular. Unfortunately, my store was out of green onions, but some beautiful watercress and red onion saved the day. Earlier this evening I made your version of Mongolian beef... green onions and all :) It was amazing. I can’t wait to try your spicy garlic butter linguini.

I tried this dish yesterday to great success with salmon. I used the steam bowl of my normal steam cooker and it did the job. I followed your advice to leave it for 20 minutes, which is the normal time I use for salmon in the steam cooker. Thank you and regards from Greece.

Hi Marion! I must thank you for this recipe! The addition of a bit of lime juice does cut through and tones down the saltiness of the soy sauce, and I added a dash of honey too. Taking the comments into consideration, I stirred the soy/honey/lime juice in a pot to cook it down a bit. Thanks again for your recipe, easier to steam than the Chinese style here in Malaysia.

Hi, I’m Filipino, we make a very similar dish but we don’t steam the fish in the soy and we fry some (A LOT) of garlic in the oil, add the soy to the oil and then pour all of that mixture onto the fish. So yum 😋

I’m Cantonese, we don’t steam the fish with the soy sauce, because the fish would absorb the bitterness of the soy sauce. We steam the fish with ginger and spring onion first. After it is cooked, pour the extra fish water out, then put cooked oil and then soy sauce.
