While I was developing the next Portal RTX Steam Deck mod update, I was using SteamOS 3.6 because a hidden benefit is vastly improved RayTracing, and now that it's reached stable, I can now release the update for eveyone
It appears God of War’s memory leak issue has finally GONE!!! I’ve just been roaming around the Midgard Lake Hub on the ‘HIGH’ graphics preset and there’s no crashes! Memory usage is increasing/decreasing normally and it seems to be able to hold around 30FPS.
@@malikkelly Sorry, yes I meant 2018. I just realised 2022 was the Steam release year. God of War (2018) had a memory leak issue, where the RAM usage constantly increased until the system hard crashed. This happened a lot faster as you increased graphics settings above the ‘Original’ preset and was particularly noticeable in the Lake of Nine area. The 3.6 stable release appears to have fixed it from what I can see.
The Steam deck has really been a great piece of tech, it's not the most powerful but just the constant support has me feeling secure in the purchase for the games I play.
Ordered Oled yesterday here in Brazil. Asus do a great marketing here putting some prices for Ally Z1 extreme almost the same of the Deck, but I STILL HAVE MY PREFERENCE IN DECK 💪
Yet another Brazilian user here! I’ve ordered mine while a friend was traveling in Europe. Got it for an amazing price! The oled screen is so beautiful.
I've been having a NIGHTMARE recently with Bluetooth controllers on Final Fantasy XIV specifically. Keyboard and mouse is absolutely fine but both Xbox Elite 2 and Nintendo pro both dropped out constantly. So it will be interesting to see what the improvements are!
I’ve always found the elite controller to be horrible with Steam Deck. Haven’t tried Switch Pro. I’ve landed on PS4 controller purely because I can map the touchpad to mouse and left click. Helps with launchers and emulators.
@@novelezra Yea it’s purely the connectivity. I’m sure it’s fine wired. Standard Xbox controllers are great but they lack features like a touchpad or gyro.
Have you seen any improvements??? That's what I thought this video would highlight 😂 😂 I sat here as you READ the whole patch notes to me like an Audio book. Here's 1 thing I noticed - When viewing a video from Game page, the moment you turn up/down the volume from buttons.. the video pauses. Thats kinda annoying..
Bro it actually helps it out a lot too. I just updated it and ghost of Tsushima is better. Higher fps. Ghost recon wildlands too. FPS is more solid . Nice
I've been having an issue where using remote freezes after about 10 min (just the image on my deck, the sound continues and my input to the PC actually still works) I really hope this release fixes that. It's a real bummer not being able to play any tripleA games on the deck.
what made you decide to do that? i mean don't get me wrong it is definitely an upgrade in terms of power and how well you'll be able to run higher-end games, but damn there's really such a charm about the steam deck that none of the handheld gaming PCs can quite replicate!
I was already on 3.6beta when it was put it onto stable. The only issue I found was that citra emulators like lime3ds and citra enhanced via emudeck have a vulkan initialization issue on steamos 3.6 that wasn’t there on 3.5
I just updated and mine is way better? The frames are more stable in ghost of Tsushima and ghost recon wildlands. Thats all I’ve played so far but it’s hella better . In my experience.. 🤔
