A fly-in for Stearman Biplanes in 2009. The opportunity to fly off a grass field in the springtime is a real treat for big biplane fans. Everyone had a super time and lots of rides were taken. A once in a lifetime moment. These big birds are just fun. Massive construction and lots of noise along with miles of fabric and dope. The pre-war yellow and stars are such a colorful.scheme. Given enough engine these planes can aerobat nicely but stock engines make for a gentle ride. No flaps so you have to side-slip to make a short field landing. The early inertia starter sounds crazy as it cranks up to speed. The Stearman Model 75 is an American biplane formerly used as a military trainer aircraft, of which at least 10,626 were built in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s.
Engine type: Continental R-670
Range: 505 mi
Wingspan: 32′ 0″
Cruise speed: 96 mph
Top speed: 124 mph
Weight: 1,936 lbs
Unit cost: 11,000-11,000 USD

The text on the video says 2009, is it really 2012?
