Stede Bonnet saying "Don't debase yourself for a man who doesn't have a single TUREEN on board." gives the same energy as Aziraphale saying "I have STANDARDS!"
@@so.many.questionsI dont remember where I read it, but there was a post that headcanoned crowley influencing stede into finally leaving his family and living his pirate dream and aziraphale talked to ed and suggested maybe he could do something more with his life than pirating and I love the idea of that
Stede asking if the kids painted the lighthouse and then Mary saying "i painted it" and Stede almost immediately saying "ooh you can tell" is the BITCHIEST comment i have ever heard him say. my jaw literally dropped when i watched that scene that man does not hold back
Btwn this scene and the "What, are they C H R I S T' S oranges?" scene, I will be a nightmare in the produce aisle forevermore. They don't go back in! The teeth don't go back in! 🍊🍊🍊
Stede being a bitch is so important to his character. He's genuinely not the best person (I don't blame Mary) but he can still make other people's lives better
I think if you made a compilation with all the clips of Stede being a bitch and another with all the clips of him being kind and showed them to different people, they would walk away with very different impressions of him as a character. He really contains multitudes. I love him.
4:00 why does that remind me of that one ep. on buzzfeed unsolved (true crime) where ryan and shane went treausure hunting and shane goes, "maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way" and ryan says, "no, I want my fucking gold"
@@sunflowersreputation I'm not on twitter, but apparently he tweeted his way through the first season, talking about how all he wanted was for these two middle-aged men to kiss.
He's completely imperfect but still gives it his all, he's never lost himself and that is more than most people have. Stede stays true to himself to his detriment or for the better and that's what makes him so fascinating- I don't think people talk enough about how tough and brave he is, he's been bullied all his life and thinks he's unlovable (which is also Ed's problem too) but emotionally he has the skin of a rhino and isn't afraid of being vulnerable or sensitive. In short, I love this dandy. 🖤
@BloodInTheStrawberries it was all that passive aggression training he received in "civil society". Guy can take you out at the knee with just a few words.
The way he says “yes” after the crew backs him up with the “talk it through as a crew” bit near the end always makes me tear up. You can tell he’s surprised. And moved. It’s so sweet. All the work they’ve put in and it made a real difference
watching 0:07 and realizing maybe I'M a bitch bc that's EXACTLY how I react when my elementary students show me their art and I don't understand what the hell it is they're showing me 😭😭😭
Five cumulitive minutes seems like such a short amount of time until you watch it, then it feels like forever. What i’m saying is, Stede is a bitch and i love that about him
People who watch these kinds of videos are already fans. They're made by fans, for fans. It's called Our Flag Means Death which wouldn't have been hard to find out yourself considering there aren't many characters out there called Stede.
