"You ever been to a Turkish prison?" I love me a Airplane reference.

I can't stress enough how *good* this movie is. The sword fight at the end is freakin' awesome. The guy that played Sho also played Jerec from Jedi Knight. Interesting bit of trivia for the old school gamers in the audience.

Post apocalyptic movies are so damn good to me. They don't age because they are mainly practical effects and its always possible it could of happened in another timeline well besides the mutants anyway. I think thats why I like them the most.
@TheReal008Zulu
@TheReal008Zulu 9 лет назад
I think the lack of a story is one of this movie's strengths. A lot of movies got to (often) too much trouble to explain the backstory, and end up suffering for it because they paint themselves in to a corner and sometimes end up with plot holes and contradictions, or it comes off as bad writing. With Steel Dawn, they pretty much say "This is the world we are in right now. That's it."

Got the Blu-Ray for 7 bucks down here in Germany. The label releases all kinds of awesome 80's and 90's action flicks. I recommend them releases for everyone who owns a region free player or some other device to watch them. DigiDreams with their Platinum Cult Collection and their Classic Cult Collection. There's always a bus load of extras on the discs, and the PCE's come with a booklet, but it's in German.

Growing up, I always heard this was an unofficial sequel to RED DAWN where we see what happens to Swayze’s character years after the events of RD. It’s not, I know, but 12 yr old me thought it was kinda cool.

I first accidentally saw this movie for the first time late one night when a buddy and I were coming down off of some strong acid. Imagine our delight and confusion. We laughed so hard at one point I got light headed and had a bit of a panic attack. Still funny without the LSD.

5:02-5:10 ROFL! I've always enjoyed this film a lot I do love the fact its ''Shane'' in a post apocalyptic setting that's very interesting that you bring up those facts about ''Road House'' and this film I always felt this and ''Next of Kin'' was 2 of Patrick Swayze most overlooked films IMHO. Another fun episode Cecil!

I like the little details, like before the final duel The bad Guy and Swayze look at each other and say "Luck" then "same." It was like that was an old tradition among the officers. They don't need to explain it, but it's just there for you to see,

If you don't mind watching anime, there's a post-apocalyptic martial arts series named Fist of North Star. The main character uses a pressure points based style that makes his enemies explode. If you don't want to watch 200 episodes, there are 5-6 movies that re-tell the story. Avoid the live-action version starring Gary Daniels (or watch it for a good laugh).

I watched this not long after my first CAX up in 29 Palms. I remember not being able to believe these guys could fight to the death at full strength after walking in the desert for miles. You try to walk 5 klicks in the desert and fight, and my money's on the other guy. Still loved the fight though. First time I ever saw a "two daggers v long sword" duel. Eat your heart out, Jon Snow and Karl Tanner.
