You don't want to put the roof screws in the valleys of the sheet metal. Put them on the crowns instead.

You are right normally it's how it should be done! Still, my client asked me to show it this way so...

Nikki Moreaux - If that really is the case, then you missed an opportunity to inform your client on the correct way to install the panels and the reason why. Personally, I wouldn't have agreed to illustrate incorrect procedure so as to not misinform those who might implement it as such. Just my 2-cents.

FOAD RIGHTNOW to play the devil's advocate, I must admit that good neoprene seals are probably sufficient for this kind of use. But for sure, if I had developed the product myself, I would had used steel calottes and long screws like as you can see in my other movies. Still, thank you for your message :-)

I have a 2 car garage and I have a little deck which sliders in front of my home I would love to do away with that deck and have one of these go up to my patio and have the roof of this my patio is this strong enough to do that please comment back thank you so very much and I would attach this right to my garage door opening This would be ideal for that please comment back if I could use something like this

Good animation but a design flaw on the roof side. The Bolts are to be secured on the top rib of the panel not of the valley side. Also I would up rip guards under the roof panels for better support. Optional I would have a slop to the rear of the Garage so rain water will drain to the rear and not to the front. Other than that good straight and affordable plan forward with simple C-channels it should last 50+ years no problem.

Nice Video! Excuse me for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (do a search on google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for building better sheds and woodworking minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got astronomical results with it.

Hi Imtiaz! This structure is exactly 4 m W per 4 m L per 2.5 m H (excluding cladding) ; these C lip channel are 160 mm H per 55 mm W, 2.4 mm thick Best regards!

The engineering behind it is way more complex than you might think. Basically it depends on the size/type of bolt or weld, and what kind of forces are being applied to each. For something like this, your standard ASTM A325 spec bolts are more than enough. However, it never hurts to weld the plates after bolts are installed, but it would make disassembly a pain in the @ss.
