Well yeah but it’s also heavier and more expensive and noisier. If you’re not protecting your windows from fuckin hurricanes and shit then you should go for aluminium.
The box which contains the shutter is on the feeling so the space is not important, who cares if it’s makes a noise for like 5 seconds during operation? Steel is much stronger than aluminium which is the primary purpose of installing the shutters.
Looked like one box was inside a house. My partner lived in a flat in Madrid. The neighbour would wake us as her external shutter was ridiculously noisy. It would easily wake a household if inside.
I would rather have something strong than quiet and appealing. I am pretty sure that those who will try to break in will not care about the aesthetics. Or am I wrong that aluminum is stronger than steel?
aluminum would sooner bend than break; steel would sooner chip off than bend because it is harder. So aluminum would receive blunt impact better than steel without chipping off, keeping its integrity. Piercing and slashing an aluminum plate is much much easier than steel. A shutter will not prevent break and enter. It will cause much noise and effort. You should prolly consider what the intruder has to break and enter. An axe ? A baseball bat? A crowbar ? .. All different tools will have different effects and different times on each material. I went aluminum. Because in case of an emergency, services may try to use an axe to hack into the house. Where as, intruders usually have tools that have better explanation and defense capacity at court, like a baseball bat or some potentially daily routine items. Breaking and entering through an aluminum shutter with a blunt tool is noisy and requires a lot of energy. When finally it gives in, you are already aware of the threat and less tired than it.
@@kadioglumelih That is exactly opposite of how steel and aluminum work. Steel will bend, aluminum shears into sharp pieces much easier. My buddy that is a body guy and works on a lot of newer F150's with the aluminum body's. He shows me pics all the time of how weak they are compared to steel body panels. For me the point is moot. Either one is strong enough to slow someone down enough for me to grab a handgun or rifle to blow their asses away!
@@onebadjack1313 DING DING DING, all these do is buy time.... Lots and lots of time, but they are uber unlikely to stop a burglary. Baring them failing to breakthrough before police arrive. I suspect a axe could make it through either of these in 10min or less. (Depends on how thick that steel is.)
I love the idea of having thermally insulated (quiet) strong shutters built into the walls of my house protecting the doors and windows. The house would be cool in the summer and require less heating in the winter: and perfect black-out for sleeping or tv/cinema rooms! The panels would be a huge deterrent to burglary and reduce damage to windows from extreme weather; hot and cold. Fire alarms would need to be upgraded as it would take more time to get out: candles would be banned!
Are these shutters bullet proof? If not I want something stronger and I would install the box on the inside because on the outside it can be ripped of and there goes the whole shutters, and I don't care about the design as long as it keeps me safe
@@falconi786 that's an ignorant statement, since China , Australia and India account for most of the world's steel an Europe rules when it comes to high quality and specialty steel.
If a burglar is already in the house, the roller mechanism would be too slow to stop the thief from entering the space. Install a heavy solid door as you normally would. Then install an iron security door on the inside which stays locked at all times while having the freedom to leave the outer door open when you’re home.

So lame. Noise? The size of the box? They look virtually the same. These are not considerations for a buyer. What is? Does it do what the buyer needs and price.
someone trying to break in your house you got the alum ver your so @$##@$ especially once they realize Gallium literally eats alum like hot knife through butter !!
