Absolutely. He dropped the term “beatnik” and THE MICROPHONE...like simultaneously! (.... and then without skipping a beat or dropping the ball.... He goes and picks up the microphone so that he can keep dropkicking all these dudes... going way back before 1963... And set it straight as he has continued to set up a team that is setting records.... ... and acknowledging that it doesn’t “just happen” ... and it’s not just WORK.... it is WORK + FOCUS. (....nothing against the media.... but there ain’t no OBJECTIVE CHAMPIONSHIP THERE...... There’s hardly OBJECTIVE TRUTH THERE.)
i dont like him or big ben. they never take the blame. its never their fault for some odd reason and every single time they lose it is their fault but always someone else gets the blame
False he doesn’t let his black players stand up for themselves n knell during the white people genocide anthem that nobody of color respects or wants any part of . We didn’t ask to kill millions of Mexicans and native Americans and Vikings to take over this land in a genocide . White Americans and there anthem is a joke n telling players they’ll be fired for standing up for themselves and their people proves he has no back bone , he is not a man , he is a government controlled npc with black skin but a white man
I swear between him and Nick Saban... just listening to them talk is like learning in college or graduate school. It feels like philosophy and psychology. Also just being respectfully honest.
@@firedrakeillusional9862 Anthem is non negotiable- that was never seen as political until recent years But the rest I’m more than happy to trade for no more social justice Do we have a deal?
News networks and Donald Trump forced themselves into sports, not the other way around. Some players silently protested in favor of police reform as a social cause in support the families of those unjustly murdered by a system intended to protect them.
@@adustgaming5651 You can't define the term liberal because your angered by propaganda prodding at your fragile ego. I'm a centrist btw I just don't think that if you wear a shiny badge you get to act like a bully and get away with murder if that makes me a hippie I wonder how whipped into submission you might be. Cuck bootlicker 😂
He is a football coach. He has a million things going through his mind probably about the kickoff. After the game if you ask him if he’s black...he probably won’t remember ....until they fire him for losing in the playoffs.
Except the number of spoiled squealer fans who are "#7 or nothing". When it's not one win b/c the other team's D got 30 yards of penalties or losing on a first pass in overtime- or to the Patriots w/Belichick and Brady, they can't be satisfied.
He had time to hold a Hillary fundraiser at his house in 2016. If you don't think he's up to his eyeballs in the current political posturing, you're delusional.
I’m gonna go out on a limb & guess that “charged“ questions by the press are meant to piss the individual being interviewed off a bit? Get under their skin a little, for a better story, or better TV?
Even as a ravens fan I love Mike tomlin. Said exactly what I would have said here. Couldn’t have possibly said it any better than this. No more politics in football or sports. Players just want to play and fans just want to watch.
I think if 2020 taught us anything, it’s that players definitely do not “just want to play”. Just because you “just want to watch” doesn’t mean that they are here to serve you and your needs. If you don’t wanna watch, you don’t have to. No one has a gun to your head. Go watch your local semi-pro team. And to go back to Tomlin’s point...political unrest and inequality within their own communities could most certainly be a part of the “myriad of things” going through a player’s head, and contrary to his point, could serve as a huge motivational factor for his players. “Politics doesn’t exist in this space because I say so” is a curiously dangerous (and, ironically, EXTREMELY political) stance for a coach in a league that just saw their commissioner issue a public apology to the most polarizing player (politically speaking) in the league, and a historic franchise change their name to the FOOTBALL TEAM. He comes off a little tone deaf given the current political climate in the country. I understand what Coach T is getting at here but I think it’s a little too small minded for a great man like him to take the ostrich approach here. I assume those that share his sentiment also like the phrase “shut up and dribble”. It’s as though people think these athletes are their playthings, only existing for their amusement. POLITICS and SPORTS have ALWAYS and FOREVER will be intertwined. This is an undeniable and irrefutable FACT OF LIFE. 1936 Olympics, Munich Games, the rise of Muhammad Ali, etc. The examples span millennia.
@@nathannascimento1665 as a conservative I hated the “shut up and dribble” comment. It was extremely offensive and one of the reason I stopped watching fake news fox. But I have 0 problem with a player or coach talking politics, I simply have a problem when the nfl shoves it down everyone’s throats, forcing the players to do this and that to fit in with the different trends. It’s ridiculous. If they want to stand up for something they can. If they want to talk about politics they can. But bottom line football is football. When the game starts that’s all the players care about, and they aren’t worried about politics. Players just want to play the game. Coaches just want to coach.
Real talk from a grown man that's grown man talk right there some folks don't like it well that's on them.. but that's real right there..PROPS coach Tomlin
Well said coach Tomlin. Well said. I wish the Steelers good luck against Cleveland. Let's go Steelers. This is just what the Steeler Nation wanted to hear.
amen but god damn i HATED all those presidental commercials like geez no one gives a flying fuck about the vote we wanna see derrick henry run a fucker over
As a eagles 🦅 fan I respect big Mike , we having coaching issues this time around and hearing mike just reminds me what MY team is lacking..keeping it real you the only team that has a chance to knock off them chiefs come postseason, good luck #PENNSYLVANIA 💯
We have a lil bit of a chance ,we beat them once, couldn't practice for them 2nd time but I'm keeping hope alive We'll see them 🃏s again hopefully our Defense will be on point w/o penalties
So I'm guessing you're over the fact that he stood in Jacoby Jones way on that kick return? Also you can't help but like people that speak facts, that's why you have to like him despite the fact that your favorite team is a rival to his, like me, I'm an Eagles fan and yet I've always had respect for Dak Prescott so it hurt to see him get injured like that
Chris McKee I don’t know how you’ll feel about this, but I’ve been a lifelong Steelers fan, but if the Ravens are in the SB, I always pull for them. I’ve never hated the Ravens, or any other team currently in our division.
My favorite thing about my AA group is that we have a written rule that we won't get involved in anything political. That's not our goal, that's not our business.
Why hes contradicting himself. He preaches hes about football out on that field and not politics, but wants to make a political statement by staying in the locker room with the rest of the team, excluding the one steeler who stood for the flag.
@@williambriggs4574watch th whole video, he said while that anthem is playing we all have a bunch of opinions running through our mind, that interview is for football, not politics, I watch football to get away from politics
@@unpricedhydra3492 thats bullshit. I was at the game, no one was blocking them. And if they were blocking them, then that one guy who was standing out on the field wouldn't have been.
Bruh it's sports stop trying to make it about politics that stuff is everywhere now it's like the plague, for once, leave politics out.. good job Steelers for having a backbone
Whenever people say "take politics out of sports," some jerk replies with "but everything is politics!" Fine. Everything is technically politics. So I'm going to stop saying "take politics out of sports" and start saying "take divisive topics out of sports."
@@bens5859 it's about not creating an opinion where sports is. Unfortunately in life we aren't always right, regardless of opinion, it's about competition not who can get fresh water and tax the rich/poor sob story.
Well said, I'm sure at that point everyone is focused on the opening drives, guys are probably nervous of making sure they know the plays and routes etc etc
We need more ppl in all leagues like this. Not a Steelers fan but always had a respect for his leadership and direction. You see this man cares that his yearly salary is solely focused on the duty he’s hired to do and not any outside distractions. No wonder players love playing for him.
Something this society is straying away from. Reality, realness, truth, facts, honesty etc. people are scared of truth that’s a sign of weakness. No discipline, order, nothing. Just a bunch of people living in fantasy land
@@Saixjacket I've never really liked there QB. He's good. I'm not taking that away from him. Since I'm a bama fan I've been pulling for tua at Miami. I know there not a great team I just like there qb
I recommend #7 Ben Roethlisberger people can criticize him all they want but you arent going to find a quarterback any tougher than Ben. I am sure that a lot of these people who arent steeler fans who criticize Ben would be more than happy to have Ben on their team. You know how it is people are jealous of someone elses success especially when their team has been terrible for a long time.
Might as well get over it brother and make the most of it (Life) you're here. Whites don't give a fuck about you and they never will. Complaining to them on TV won't accomplish anything.
Firedrake Illusional im all about what you said minus the “white people dont care”....the amount of generalizing in that statement makes you look like a fool (logically speaking, not an attack of your character at all)....im Caucasian...grew up rural midwest in a small town. A place an ignorant person would assume is full of bigotry...well my friend i wish to share with you my life experience as a Caucasian man...my best friend is from Liberia...moved to my little shithole town in the middle of nowhere when we were in 5th grade...my teacher made me be his ambassador for the class and I will tell you from that moment till now him and i have been inseparable...grown adults now, i was his best man, i am god parent to his beautiful children...i would do ANYTHING for him and his family, and hes not my only good friend who has a darker skin shade as me...so it worries me there are people out there that would generalize me into some sort of hate group when my whole life is based on trying to be as morally good towards everyone that comes into my life...am i a piece of shit to you even after telling you this? I dont hate you based off ignorant assumptions, matter of fact i respect the shit out of your comment before the “white people dont care” line....if you want true genuine progress that right there is something you need to move past as well...are there racist ass white people? Absolutely, but please dont inconsiderably throw me into a generalized group like you did....are there factions of rich white men with privileges beyond ANY poor person? You better believe it but it would be my dream to see that faction of greedy ass men dissolve out of the world of leadership and authority...verbally attack those Factions of whites, not the entire collective of people who who share skin color..by all means verbally go after and call out the anglo-Saxon group that really do think darker skin people are lesser than them...as a white man that whole thought process disgusts me...but let me remind you those bigoted people ignorantly generalized all black people as beneath or lesser, and if you REALLY want equality, well then my friend YOU and everyone else needs to take a step back from generalizing mass amounts of people, as much as you might not wish to confront the issue that those ignorant generalizations are exactly why racism continues to exist...i didnt become best friends with my buddy because his skin was dark or because of some made to believe inherited guilt for him, I became his best friend because hes amazing person. We pushed each other in track and placed in state in the mile together...we both work with kids at separate YMCAs...we have so much in common it scares me a little....meanwhile the only reason i have to tell you hes from africa is to make a point that i indeed do care a whole awful lot, and im incredibly disheartened i have to explain a friendship and even bring up the color of our skin...him and i have moved on from racism, so how do i get generalized into “not caring”? Do you not understand how that indeed is not very far from the nature of racism which you and i agree is morally wrong? Mad respect and this is no argument, simply a testament of my own experience in life...i wont disagree that some areas have more bigotry than others...mostly segregated larger cities, but it still doesnt justify generalizing ALL people...there is no progress in that mindset...none at all, no matter your skin color or moral compass...generalizing is one of the most dangerous things intellectually and physically. Much love
As a fan of watching and playing sports for 40 yrs. I don’t care what an athletes political, religious views are. I’m here to watch and root for my team to win. For them to give 100% on the field, ice, court ect. When they leave the playing surface I don’t give 2 shits about them. Sports are entertainment that’s it.
He’s so right! My uncle was a pro athlete and he also couldn’t name who sang or held speeches or whatever before games.... His mind was focusing on game plans, strategies etc!
