There is absolutely no way y'all talking about this 3 days in a row? I'm a Steelers fan but good lord this is annoying. Now I understand how Cowboys fans feel about media coverage.
Fields haters always conveniently leave out how bad the Bears were during Fields first two seasons. We gave up 35 a game at one point smh. Then we get him DJ Moore and he looks great throwing to him. I love Caleb and I'm happy we got him but I still wish Justin success. Putting that W/L record on him is showing a lack of nuance and a refusal to move off your stubborn point.
All of the national media is stupid and don’t know how Pittsburgh operates. If Tomlin already said Wilson is the QB1 then he’s the QB1. Nothing is going to change that for week 1, period.
@@CKC298 I don't think you understand football. There are 53 players on a team while the QB is important he isn't the only one impacting winning. Russ had 29 TD on 15 games played. Dude had 4 4th QTR comebacks and could have had 3 more had things played out differently. The Steelers had 10 wins with Kenny, Mitchell and Mason none of them played as well as Russ. So simply adding Russ to a strong defense will improve the team. If Russell Wilson had last year's production on the Steelers ppl would not be calling him washed.
"I don't think Russ can make two-minute drives anymore, he hasn't shown it". Russ literally led the leage in 4th quarter comebacks with 4 last season. They say stuff like this but dont talk about Justin fields throwing games a way
@@TaiLePhan these justin fields fans trying to talk about Wilson being washed up, are dillusional. Fields is absolutely terrible. All the talent in the world, but can't manage a game to save his life.
It was also Pete Carroll that extended those plays to help Doug Baldwin/Sidney Rice/Lockett/DK Metcalf/Jermaine Kearse flourish LOL. Those Seahawks receivers would not have flourished without the help of Russell Wilson. Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice, Golden Tate, Jermaine Kearse would not have been as good with Matt Flynn.
Saying Russell Wilson hall of fame chance is riding on a preseason game is laughable, & TJ sounds like a hater lmao Super Bowl Second-team All-Pro 9× Pro Bowl NFL passer rating leader NFL passing touchdowns leader like come one
@@JohanLWill7_ it means you shouldn’t be shocked they say he isn’t a hall of famer because he was never a lock hunter to get in like Manning who even though he had a horrible final season still got in. Aaron Rodgers has had a rocky couple years and will still get in.
Right! They act as if Russell Wilson had Marshawn Lynch and the "Legion of Boom" playing like the 2000 Ravens and he was Trent Dilfer his whole Seahawks career. "The masses" have decided they don't like or in a lot of people's case hate him for whatever reason now he's not a Hall Of Fame quarterback. They act as if he shouldn't be in the NFL. Which is ridiculous. He actually played pretty good last season. If Wilson was they whole problem last season, why did they let go so many players from the Broncos offense from last year? Now a 26 td - 8 int 66.4 QB completion %, 3070 yard season in 15 games is an "awful" season that should end a quarterback's career. Only if the masses have decided they don't like you. There are a lot of quarterbacks starting that are a lot worse than that that people are hyped for to start this season.
Yeah because he has an offensive coordinator for that. Don’t act like Trubisky, Rudolph, or Pickett were going to be the guy. Pickett maybe, but he had no time to actually develop. Give the Steelers a top 10-12 QB and just watch
My honest opinion, I want Justin to sit as long as possible to rebuild his confidence, learn the ins and outs of the offense. Then unleash him next year. Also I would like the OC to install some wide zone schemes and RPO’s. They also need to solidify he Oline and find a WR2 and 3. Center they may be good at (I also played college ball at WV). Tackles are questionable. As of right now they just need to be execute.
Steeler fan over here. TJ who is your mama was a solid number two. Not much of a yac guy. I believe if Palmer doesn’t go down that playoff game in 2005. Maybe…They were looking good honestly. they were up on Pittsburgh. I’m just glad Pitt won… i’m hopeful for Fields he has all the talent just needs to honed in on the quarterback trade … and seeing another quarterback, like Russell Wilson and competing every day, my do wonders ….
We all agree that Payton did not want Russ in Denver last year; yet he had a good season. Why are we acting like Russ all of a sudden has no clue how to play football ? Pittsburgh will be fine.
It was not a good season. It was terrible empty stats, he missed wide open guys every week. He took way too many sacks. Also they dumbed down the offense for him
This is probably the best collection and panel this show has. Substantive conversation with stats from Dave while still bringing great experience with TJ and James.
@@romanmendez9181and?... Doesn't dispute his point. Reid had been to multiple playoffs, championship games and a SB in Philadelphia and KC before Mahomes was ever in the league. Everyone forgets how Mahomes was a project coming from TTU. Reid hand picked him.
Idk why it rubs me the wrong way when the comments be calling acho corny. Why? Cuz he’s articulate? Just say what you really wanna say because if you disagree w his takes that’s one thing but it’s rarely that, it’s usually his persona ppl always cracking jokes about, what would you prefer he act like?
Fields is qb1 Now in pole Position Last week y’all blamed Justin vs a decent Houston defense He technically went 7/7 This week Russ looked worse against a worse defense & yall blame the oline Justin rushed 4 more than Russ passed 4 on less attempts Russ was always carried by a great defense & great running game Justin has never had either Remember when the Seahawks traded 4 jimmy graham & things went left 4 Russ Remember when Justin got Dj Moore & he set career highs that he’ll never sniff again The bears franchise is literally over 100 years old & they fielded the WORST defense they have ever had during his time there The bears led the league n dropped tds during Justin’s times there Russ had arguable the best defense of the century Justin had the least amount of 100 yard games from his running baQs during his time there Russ had lynch This ain’t close @ all & any1 saying different is a hater There’s a reason a 1/3 of the bears fans R still rooting 4 fields
Fields is certainly not in pole position. Fields had the opportunity to take the job from Russ and didn’t. Keep in mind Russ missed training camp with a calf injury and came back last week in raw/rusty form. Fields spent the entire camp with the starters and in two preseasons game did nothing. And you saying Russ did worst, he was playing agaisnt actual starters. Fields literally look like a mouse running every which way and missing wide open reads on the PA Boots. The fact that everyone in the facility as seen more of fields and still wanna go with Russ should speak volume on what they see in fields. And Arthur smith also mentioned not playing certain calls for Wilson nurse that injury so I wonder if tmrs play calling will be much better
bears fans has watched Justin throw 30 ints and fumble 38 times since they drafted him.. the only fans that like him are Ohio fans or just fans of the fact hes fast lol.. either way he is not a good Qb at the nfl level
@@PatriotWatchUSA Man you are on every Justin Fields thread. Aren't you a Bears fan? Don't you have something better to do? Go watch Hard Knocks and your sub-par coach Matt Eberfloose, the most losing coach in the NFL.
Steelers fans need to understand this about Justin Fields, if he can make the Chicago Bears #1 rushing he definitely can make Pittsburgh #1, he is a weapon
I guess everyone forgot the Bears defense for 1.5 seasons gave up 30pts a game on average & the WRs literally dropped/fumbled 5 wins away in one season alone, but yeah it was all Fields fault
Congratulations…You beat the Bengals backup Qb twice…Browns backup Qb once…Struggled against the Ravens backups in week 18..And in the game with the Ravens staters they STILL struggled..but keep gloating those unimpressive wins
@@CvFromMiami weve swept the ravens like 3x in the past 4 years.. do your homework.. the same ravens who has the top 2 regular season win percentage since lamar has been the starter
@@CvFromMiamithank you for pointing that out. I’m a Steeler from the 70s Tomlin is not that good, think about this 16 years with A one of the best QBs in history and solid defense and one Super Bowl 🤷🏻♂️
Lol…Steelers rank 30th in Offense over the past five years..Fields is the worst 4th qtr qb in the league and Russ has regressed..But say whatever makes you feel better
The Dilemma with those both QB is their ceiling isn’t that high. Only Mike Tomilin was able to combine both of their skills which is Justin fields Leg and running ability with Russle Wilson’s arm then he would be in good situation. Both lack the trait the other player is good at.
I know many people are going to try and disprove this from Fields in one preseason game with the backups, but Steelers fans Fields can get you many games with 21 to 28 points on the board. Take a close look at his career, it is much better than Pickett. Do not let the trolls tell you he is the ONLY reason they lost in Chicago. Fields has multiple games with 3 to 4 TDs a game and still lost. What does that tell ya.
@@jamesfetcho6315 No it actually isnt. The Chicago Bears from the second they traded Roquan smith were the worst 14 week defensive PPG since 1970. It frusterates you that he is not as bad as you think.
TJ is a certified hater, Russ is definitely gonna be in the HOF, one bad season can’t outdo 11 good season and one average season (last year). And he talking about the Seahawks, the last remaining LOB left in 2017. Post 2017- the Seahawks were in the playoffs every single year, he threw over 3700 each time and had 30+ touchdowns throughout that span. So don’t make it seem like Russ left because the LOB was stealing his shine or something because statistically, that’s incorrect. I think he should’ve stayed with the Seahawks, but I’m not gonna tell someone to stay where they don’t wanna stay. We don’t know what was going on behind closed doors between anybody. Sherman can go online and spew his personal vendetta and hatred all he wants.
And anyone who watched Bears games with JF as starter could clearly see that more than half of those losses were not because of Fields..why do they insist on using that record as the justification for why JF is no good is beyond me
@@zeiddaas8038I'm rooting for the dude, and he has undeniable talent. But to act like 38 fumbles in 40 career games (among other turnovers, and often in critical moments like the 4th quarters of games) didn't contribute to that record in some way is crazy.
@@zeiddaas8038 Did you watch the Bear games? He was terrible Tyson was better QB. JF will never start in the NFL after this year. 31 teams spoke and said NO. Six took B within the first twelve picks when they could've had JF> Go get your shine box
This is my opinion. I feel like Tomlin wants to start Fields but he's making Russell and Fields play these preseason games to show y'all what he is seeing so he don't get backlash and scoop me for starting Fields over Russ. He's going to let the preseason games and analyst do their job to where everybody else sees what Russ doesn't have anymore in the tank.
@@getsomemoney2433facts, he's been that way for every position as well. Not just QB. I think it's for the best, Fields gets to develop, Pittsburgh hangs on to '25 fourth round pick, and they get to address some of the other glaring needs on offense (like play calling, IMO)
@@zackhurwitz9441 I disagree I feel like starting Russ is just a waste of everyone’s time. Fields doesn’t develop sitting on the bench. And we know Russ most likely isn’t taking you to the Super Bowl so why waste another year of prime TJ and Minkah.
You mean the Chicago Bears have. Winning and losing is never just on one player. There’s absolutely no game a football player can win or lose by himself.
Agreed. But I'm worried: JF still has to prove he can read the field. Or maybe that he isn't scared of throwing the ball. There is something holding JF back that I can't pinpoint, but it's there.
Well nobody has to worry about that... because there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO UNLOCK BUT ANOTHER CLONE OF RYAN LEAF, JAMARCUS RUSSEL , CADE MCKNOWN😂😂😂😂😂
@@jeanfourcadeFields can see it he just doesn’t trust it…when he over threw that receiver in Bills Preseason game…notice that when he loaded up that throw…the receiver started to break inside and then he stopped…. Watch the All 22, that pass would have been PERFECT.
Interesting conversation actually appreciate this more than anything else they have been talking about with the strelers qb battle. One thing i want to point out is the first two games with danver last year were CLOSE and that was with the defense being BAD. Broncos didnt figure out their defense until after the dolphin burger. The other is i love coach carol. But one thing i will always hold against the man was how he let the team implode. He had the team built around def vs offense. With two people playing both sides. And when it mattered the most he let the qb take the blame for the loss and let that franchise winning dynamic die.
This is the convincingly best session I've ever seen point-for-point about two people that just don't matter. The Steelers will be drafting a QB next year.
Tomlin and Russ have the same career! Russ won the SB instantly with a HOF defense then lived off it with 'good' stats afterwards. Tomlin won the SB with a proven SB-winning QB and then just posted 'ok' non-losing records for the rest of his career.
That’s a bad take Ocho Russell Wilson has 9 pro bowls and two Super Bowl appearances and one win. That’s definitely HOF material. He’s literally next to Aaron factual in some stats. Russell Wilson deserves more respect
Fun fact..Russell Wilson's last season in Denver was better than Aaron Rodgers's last year in Green Bay..but they speak on black quarterbacks like they always have to prove something and white quarterbacks are always given the benefit of the doubt..
@@PatriotWatchUSA only racists hate talking about racism or try to ignore it or act like it isn't occurring..your entire life is based off of racism just like everyone else's is rather you know it like it or not..and by the way you're not tired of being racist yet are ya..right
The Steelers have handled this QB situation perfectly. Russ was always going to be the starter, but they manufactured that Fields is on his heels, making sure to keep Russell engaged and motivated. The Injury to Russ seems to be manufactured IMO so they could really give Fields reps and see if he's worth keeping him next year. Tomlin surely thinks he can make Fields a starter in 1-3 years, and if Russ can play as well as last year, with the Steelers D they will be a playoff team with a shot a winning the 1st game of the playoffs. Fields has major issues with his accuracy and decision making, but can they be fixed?
The Steelers got both these guys on cheap one-year rentals for a reason. They’re not goin far no matter which guy takes all the snaps, they drafting a QB with an early pick regardless
Its so funny how ppl think a Qb who was 40 touchdowns with 30 ints and 38 fumbles since being in the lg is supposed to be the starter for the Steelers over a qb who threw 26 TDs and 8 ints while not even playing the last 4 games of the season.. ppl who think Fields should start just because he can run is insane
Idk where the Acho hate coming from lol. He states facts and opinions always making sure the difference is clear, always gets his point across without being bias, doesn't show belligerent showmanship and always speaks with substance and sense, him & ryan clark the only ones that speak sports how its posed too be done.
This is what I would do. Study which downs Russel Wilson statistically does best, and have Fields fill in for 1st and second down, Wilson 3rd and 4th or vice versa ect. Use them like a 2 headed snake, don’t make them compete for the starting job, give them the confidence to succeed on the downs they are responsible for. I honestly think alot of these mediocre teams should start playing around with that idea!
Bears fan here laughing at the fact they said Pittsburgh has two QBs who can win you a game even if the defense doesnt play well. Its not like we watched JF lead us to a 14 game losing streak or anything.
Really this is ridiculous. This is way too early to be prejudging Russell Wilson on a couple of drives in the preseason game with the same level offense that we've had
Wilson isn't good enough to start the entire season without getting benched. They should just rip off the Band-Aid and deal with the controversy now instead of having this conversation linger throughout the season. What Russell Wilson gives you as a starter is finger pointing, lots of sacks and a divided Locker room.
Justin Fields need to set back and learn from a Veteran, which he did not do in Chicago, he still has a lot to learn. Tomlin, stick with Russell, who has way more experience than Justin.🤔
Otcho has zero integrity. Just a minstrel doing anything for the network. I understand you’re dedicated to your career, but how can care so little about your character?
The more Acho fights to make it seem like Russ is the one to trust, the more I’m like “you’re right. I absolutely can’t trust Russ with my mortgage. Fields for starter.”
This is EASY. You got Wilson for a case of Gatorade. Let's all drink it for 5 or 6 games. Then if he stinks up the place, hand the keys to Fields, then see what happens. Worst case scenario..... you draft or trade for your future QB
What are the “good parts” of it? You guys are talking as if he’s Stafford or something, who can make some careless or reckless plays, but he’s also putting a lot of points on the board. That’s not Fields. This whole offseason everyone has been saying that Caleb is walking into the best situation possible because of the Beats roster. The same basic roster that Justin couldn’t do anything with.
Wilson gonna start, no question. When in doubt, use the proven weapon, even if it's a WWII M1-Garand. Arthur Smith has his work cut out this season to develop JF into a reliable QB while designing safe, fool-proof schemes for Russ.
