Hi, all this is an update for 2 months of having this headset, and I will admit it is one of the greatest headsets by far. I've seen some comments online and even on this video saying the surround sound sucks or whatever it may be. Well, you have to download, the steel series app on your computer then switch it to surround sound. afterward, you have to see if you are in the correct setting for the headset. There are two settings, arctic 7 chat, and arctic 7 game. For surround sound to "work" you have to be on arctic 7 game, so go to the bottom right of your desktop and click on sound and switch it to arctic 7 game, you also go into the sound setting and just disable arctic 7 chat. For me, this worked and I can hear footsteps clearly in MW, Apex, Fortnite, etc. The surround sound is exceptional on this headset.

I bought the Arctis 7 a bit more than 2 years ago and at first was quite happy with it. It is very comfortable, soundquality is nice, the mic is great and the overall design is amazing. After about a year the charging-port broke off due to poor soldering. This meant, that i couldn't charge the headset anymore and because the mic only works when connected wirelessly, the product became useless. The CS at Steelseries took forever to reply and then asked me to provide pictures of the broken part, for which i had to open up the headset, which they in turn used as an arguement to deny replacement/refund. After quite a bit of hassle, they eventually agreed to replace it. One year later, the same problem occured and this time the product was just outside the warrenty period. Instead of taking responsibility for selling a fundamentally flawed product, they simply shut me off with false simpathy and didn't even give me the chance to respond by marking the case as "solved". Having technical issues can happen, but you have to take responsibility and should never use formalities as an excuse to deny decent CS. Never again Steelseries!!

Awesome review. I just picked these up today at best buy, and I gotta say I love the way these steelseries headphones fit on my head, super comfortable, good sound and mic quality, and I really like the way they look. Great video.

Man, finally a non-boring review video, I love the energy. Question though, you mentioned it won't work wirelessly on Switch. But, what if we plug the wireless adapter on to Switch's dock and play on docking mode? Will that work?

I have owned this headset for just over a year. Here's my review. First and foremost don't let any reviewer tell you these things have great sound. The sound quality is "pretty good" but they have NO bass. With or without the Arctis software EQ, custom settings, etc, these things have very little bass. If you think these have good bass, then you've never had a good set of headphones before. The Logitech G series, for example, have WAY more bass than these and are much cheaper. Second, they are constructed tough as nails. This is why I bought them. I have a tendency to break headsets and I have not broken these yet. The headband is made of steel and they are very durable. That being said, the piece of cloth he points out that lines the headband is super comfortable but WILL stretch and wear out very quickly. After three months use mine no longer fit tightly and fall off my head when I lean back or forward too much too quickly now. No amount of adjustment will compensate for this after the cloth stretches. Side note: Everything he says above about how they fit and feel is SPOT on. If these things weren't built so tough I would never buy another pair due to the "-ish" sound quality and the slackness of the fit over time. Third, I don't like the location of the "Game/Party Chat" button. You WILL bump this roller button ALL THE TIME. You will CONSTANTLY be altering the levels unintentionally just from bumping it. And nothing is a frustrating as to trying to diagnose a no sound problem when all it was was this stupid button that you keep bumping. And lastly, after a year now, for some reason mine has some type of a short in the left earphone and the sound comes and goes depending on how I tilt my head. Obviously something is loose inside the earphone. I tap it and most of the time it comes back for a while. Then you need to tap it again. In conclusion: My head spins every time I hear someone say these things have great sound... I just shake my head and feel sorry for that person never having heard a good set of headphones... Buy them if you're "meh" on your requirements for good sound. If you're not picky, then these can be an excellent choice. If you're looking for something very durable and don't care all that much about the sound, then these are definitely the ones you want to get.

Can you connect your phone to the usb hub via 3.5 cable and still take calls/use the mic at the same time as hearing in game audio? (example) Uub connected to PS4...phone connected via 3.5 to hub.....would you be able to hear incoming calls/listen to streaming music/audio?

I would like to know something. Will the 3.5mm from the headset work while also connected wirelessly? For example having the headset connected to a ps4 controller via 3.5mm, while wirelessly connected to a pc. Or the headset connected to a phone via 3.5mm, while wirelessly conneted to a ps4. Also, I'm curious about the same question for the Arctis 1 wireless.

The cool thing is these settings transfer over to the headset and you can play the on ps4 or whatever with the same settings

sooooo i was looking for a good wireless headset. i currently own the hyperx cloud2 which is great. i got the arctis 7 off amazon. arived yesterday, unpacked installed everything after 2 hours of setting up the sound was still not centered, or the left speaker was broken it was a little quieter then the right side. also the software is a nightmare. i really hope i just got a broken one, sadly i had to send it back today... sound quality and mic quality otherwise are very good, quality on the material also great. would be a good headset if it worked haha and they should work on the software its very buggy. also dont plug the transmitter into usb 3 it will completely slow down and bug your windows (at least for me) usb 2 everything back to normal lol... thats my honest review thumbs up if you want more people to see it :)

The weight on the headset may is the battery. Because the normal Arctic 7 headset has 4 more hours of use than the pro version. I’m not sure, but it maybe is.

*UPDATE* i had recently posted that i recently bid on these through Ebay after watching this review. I won the bid at $80. I have received them and they were brand new even still had the protective film on the cups and joints. I gotta let anyone know that are thinking about getting these especially if you are getting them for ps4. They are AWESOME!!!! I absolutely love them. I highly recommend them!!

is it possible to have the headset wirelessly synced to your computer, and have it wired to your playstation? So you have two audio source's at one's? Cheers

I bought these this week, returned them the next day. They sounded amazing, however the ear cups were just too dang small. My ear was pushing into the drivers which was causing pain within 15 minutes of me wearing them. I actually gave them a good try, I wore them for about 2hrs and by the end of that time my ears were killing me. I really liked them, if the cups were a little firmer or thicker I would had kept them.

hello, the sound is good can i adjust sound on my laptop and play with it on ps4?

Its 2021 and i decided to get this after checking so many reviews on certain products. One your vibe is good to make folks wanna get it. Two you explained really good and detail is very easy follow. So i got them at best buy for 149.99 since its my first pair for gaming i didnt want to go too high or too low price wise. Manual is so flushed under the package inside i would have been lost if wasnt for your review. Main thing is out of box connect wireless adapter to ps4 pro and went into setting and see that ps4 recognize it. Then I remember hold power and the button on wireless adaptor for like 5 seconds and they pair. Without plugging them into pc to see if any updates it works. Then mic i was like press and it turn red so i thought mic didnt work. But after a bit i realize that if it blinks red means mic is muted. So i will connect to pc and let you know if anything new. Overall sound is okay, mic is okay, and comfort is okay. I have sony xm3 wireless noise canceling so i know what a premium sound and noise canceling is suppose to be like. Maybe i can tweak and see when i connect to my computer. Hence why i said everything is okay. If folks can hear me im happy. Feel a lil heavy after hours of gaming but i got long hair so if i cut i will lose some weight. Overall being my first gaming headset im not dissapoint. Im happy since its easy to connect. And havent really charge them since i bought and its going after 6hrs still of gaming. Thank you and will let u know if i do run into issue. Noise isolation are pretty good.
