It pisses me off when people assume things and spread misinformation. It was Denny Dias who played the Sitar solo on this song. It's not within Shankar's ability given his very different musical style and background.
Nobody claimed otherwise. The title of the video clearly states that is features the Ravish Sitar PEDAL - you know, a little digital device that alters the sound passing through a signal chain - not the famous Indian musician.
The Ravish seems like a really cool and versatile pedal, except that you can't really get close to the classic "electric sitar" tone, for example as heard on this song. Has that been your experience? EXCELLENT job on the solo.
