More Steely Dan courtesy of Patron Hugo! Thanks man. This one features a really cool bassline out of Walter Becker - only the right notes, nothing fancy, understated, and perfect for the tune. I researched it and I couldn't find anything detailing how he achieved that tone on the album, so I took my best guess with a palm-muting approach. Not my strongest technique on the bass! So it was a good challenge for me, too. Enjoy the chilled funkiness!

Im always down for a Dan tune! Great job! I think Walter played a Sadowsky, palm mute with a pick.

Thank you! And thanks for the info. Yeah I thought about a pick at times but the tone was so warm. That sounds right though. Great palm-mute pick playing with a bit of studio magic in there to fatten the tone up even more.

yes he does get a great tone from his modulus bass. but i kinda feel its a little too laidback. when i play this tune live i embellish it quite a bit and they havent kicked me out of the band yet!
