Pro Tip, Loosen the nut but do not take it all the way off, that way when the wheel breaks free it does not smack you in the lip and then you need to explain to everyone at thanksgiving dinner why you have a busted lip.
So sick! You went into all the details really well but the battery airbag situation still makes me nervous: Aren't you supposed to wait like an hour or two so any capacitors storing energy dissipates first? This is a best practice I read from other car airbag work because every car is different you don't know if the airbag can still be setoff. But hey it looks like you survived lol. Also what torque do you retighten the steering wheel to? Just muscle down till you can't anymore?
Looks incredible steering wheel with carbon fibre/leather. How does this not void the factory warranty? Or worse, air bag does not deploy in an accident>😖😳???/
If you are worried about your install skills, bring it to a shop so you do not deploy your airbag haha. It's not going to deploy from this, the manufacturer has been making them for many years without issue. Regarding your warranty, heck yeah, your factory steering wheel warranty is mega voided! oh no!
Are these wheels thicker than OEM and stickier/more grippy? I feel like the OEM is OK but needs to be fatter and not so slippery. I also do not want any ribs on the backside of the steering wheel on the aftermarket one I pick.
