This is entirely spurious. United had to declare their accounts - including their allowances - because they're listed on the New York stock exchange. Other EPL clubs aren't and so their accounts remain confidential and their allowances weren't made public.
@@brianshockledge3241you realize United is a gigantic club right? 😂😂 Like Real Madrid gigantic. Some things don’t apply the same way to the club as they do to others. Issues are scrutinized more and clarifications must happen when mistakes are made.
@@FountainOfYoot A glory hunter comment if ever I`ve heard one. That gigantic club went bust on numerous occasions and wrote the book on sugar daddies. No support and continously bailed out by Manchester City for five decades even voting to keep them in the league when facing oblivion. Practically everything about the club is a joke including their badge. Claimed to be founded in 1878 which is not true. The red devil nickname taken from Salford rugby club just being one of them.
@sitaylor I'm no legal or financial expert like many on social media claims. However, what came out after their last video on this it seemed like they we're saying United cheated the rules. A week later they bring this out, most likely they got a call from lawyers and they had to just say united were just a little bit more clever in what they did but didn't do anything wrong or cheat. Why else would this segment.
@pung4759 Never said it was a retraction, but it was definitely a segment to clear up any insinuating of wrong doing on their behalf. The first segment they done was taken by many that they cheated, and it spread all over social media. A week later, they have this segment basically it came across like we never accused anyone of cheating but maybe many people took it this way and we want to clear that up so we aren't brought to court in what many though was them insinuating United cheated.
haha there was no risk of being taken to court you dummy. Borson made an informed observation based on the evidence in front of him. He then speculated that the only way around utds losses would be to obtain an exemption from the Premier league. This hypothesis has basically been confirmed to be a correct one. So what exactly do you think United could sue him for?
Probably saying it because it hasn`t affected them yet debt free and immaculately run. On the other hand the swamp dwellers are operating with £1bn debts and struggling to make the PSR regulations.
@@pimpin598 I don’t doubt every word he says isn’t fact, but the depths of legal detail, hearings and micro analysis of minor changes in legal proceedings don’t make for great radio. Blows my mind this is what drives modern football punditry
Borson: There's no allegation that United have done anything wrong other than be cute with... A curious choice of wording from the former Manchester City financial advisor.
My word United fans taking this as any sort of backtrack, proves that people will see and hear what they want to. He's not backtracked, you heard it in the clip from last week 'we don't know the reason for these exceptional allowances'. It's been confirmed that they got some allowances that other clubs didn't without much explanation why other clubs couldn't have done the same. He was consistent on saying Everton and whoever else were right to fight their corner, to ask for their exceptions/allowances(which they did) but it still appears nobody has had anywhere near the amount of allowances that got approved for United. He mentioned Arsenal's being 20x lower, to show you don't just scale up the costs because they are bigger(nonsense argument). He also pointed out UEFA denied United those same exceptions, but everyone is pretending like the PL were right and nothing is wrong. If this were City there would be a media melt down over this and yet look at the raggies they are having meltdowns. Making protestations that sound suspiciously like innocent until proven guilty, moaning about conspiracies, unfair press treatment(they have to be joking, this was nothing, it was more aimed at the PL) suggesting law suits and reputational damage... The lack of self awareness is astonishing really. You couldn't make it up.
What facts? Some Sheikh Mansour employee getting a regular spot on national radio to downplay City's violations and bore us all to death in the process? No thanks, he's already been wrong numerous times anyway, so clearly you don't know if what you are listening to is "facts" or propaganda.
It's not about having good lawyers or accountants. The numbers are the numbers, this is especially true with MUFC who are listed on the NYSE and have to comply with SEC regs, so there is no room for "creative accounting".
@@burlhorse61 Is it corruption that Everton were given a £57m allowance for player impairment? MUFC is the only club that hasn't used player impairment as a deductible for PSR.
Man United are the only club in the EPL on the stock exchange. Doesn’t matter how good your lawyers are if your accounts are literally public information 😂😂😂 United couldn’t hide even if they wanted to unlike some others.
Backdrop, City’s case is completely different and far more serious. It’s harder to prove and City maintain innocence when Everton and Forest admitted it. Meanwhile the Premier League are granting £75million waivers to United so they don’t fail. Corruption???
TalkSport walking this back after a clearly inflammatory segment last week. It was obvious that Borson was using the word "exceptional" in a very loose way and no one on at the time was smart enough to challenge him. I doubt this will stop fans of the usual upstart clubs whinging about it though.
Borson was a lawyer so he knows how to use language in a very bland and boring way which ensures he says nothing specifically libelous. We all know what he's implying but he's a slippery snake who knows how to manipulate language effectively in legal terms.
Borson is building a case for City (his ex-employer) by doing a Trump on Utd. Borson has not said sorry for previously stirring the pot when knowing full well that Utd's PSR claims were justified and accepted (as Simon confirmed is a club's entitlement/gift) - something Borson intermittently states in his 'defense'. He is deflecting and going to great lengths to assist City with their charges.
It has nothing to do with Trump in any erroneous parallel form whatsoever. It's clear you do not base your political worldview on actual knowledge and understanding. You probably voted for Starmer because he likes the same type of ice cream as you or something. You shouldn't be allowed to vote because you're completely ignorant and you don't know what you're even voting for.
A) he was never employed by City, his company provided consultancy advice to them 17 years ago. B) United’s figures are posted publicly as they are public limited on the NY Stock Exchange. Borson isn’t the only one saying this, Kieran Maguire who is a Brighton fan, and the most respected football finance guy in the country has highlighted this.
It is a private business, but you also need to understand that a club requires competition against 19 other clubs to exist. Without competition against them clubs there’s no matches to sell tickets for no TV money , so then you are the private owner of nothing. So everyone gets a vote on the rules and regulations of said competition.
@@tomadams94 well they’re implying that a private business should be able to spend whatever money that they want. That’s all well and good, but you can’t have a nation state with unlimited oil money vs a successful businessman with £2B in their bank account.
Some of the allowances were the cost of staff. United continued to pay all of its fulltime and partime staff as if games where full attendence, both liverpool and arsnenal put staff on furlough. over a season this is a significant amount
A quick google proves your statement is wrong. Liverpool were going to furlough their staff but reversed the decision and Arsenal even asked their players to take a 12.5% pay cut. Any more lies you'd like to tell?
Not all breaches of PSR are the same. NOt all breaches of regulations are the same. Saying it's a conspiracy is nonsense. Everton and Nottm. Forest's cases were unique and not as complex as Manchester City's.
The world is corrupt in all areas. Money and power corrupts, that's the way of the world we're living in. Call it a conspiracy all you like, it's just a fact and claiming it's nonsense is just shameful ignorance.
The reality is, the league will function perfectly without Newcastle and city, but it would collapse without United. That’s just the truth that everyone hates to hear. The league needs United more than anything else for the product to maintain the value it does globally
If MC get away with this without incurring serious consequences, then the FA need to call it a day and resign to a man. That's not because i have anything against MC - but if you can take action with Forrest and Everton - coming back for seconds, in one season - then given the level of charges, (and i think you will find there are not 115 separate charges, quite a number are duplicated and mentioned more than once - that's how the legal process works, here) but significant levels, you must make the majority stick and demotion(s) can be the only outcome. Has to be..
Stefans point is that the premier league clearly have favouritism towards United. That’s why it’s not United’s fault. It’s a strange bias from the premier league. This isn’t a retraction of the statement from the last video, incase you’re a United fan thinking he’s backed down by reading the comments without watching the video 👍🏻 basically it’s like a parent with 20 kids, 1 gets fed so well that it’s big n fat and the others are starved of food and love. Can’t blame the kid for wanting to eat the cake can ya? But we’re all looking at the parent n thinking…. Wtf?
I think every journalist at talk sport signs some sort of agreement just to have a go at man utd for clicks. These guys spend nearly half of their entire time at the euros taking about utd and ETH. This got to be some sort of agenda
Easily sorted utd had to show their allowance because they were were on the new York stock exchange so all these plant pots on here phone your plant pot clubs to show their allowance s have a good day plant pots
There'd be no clicks or engagement on any media outlet without a United story... heck, the league would be less relevant globally. 😂 It's all about the mighty Reds.
This guys been dropping bombs on all these clubs but nothing comes of it!! I think he knows stuff all and when fans of these clubs message him to give proof or clarification he can't Jog on tool
I actually like listening to Stefan. He may not have been 100 per cent this time but he generally is on the money and explains it well to myself and uneducated ones like me.
@frankford1115 his failed businesses was brought on from overborrowing from bank s and not his own money. He put s his mouth where he should be putting money.. but it's OK it was never his money to begin with. Greed and risk mate
He’s still worth a lot of money and lost money in a business where the majority are in the red each year anyway, it was more of a hobby and dream for him, he had already made it before CP
I don’t expect good things comes out of Simon Jordan , sounase , carager most ofmainstream and co to say good things about united and they can go…… themselves!!!!
Basically hes saying that the premier league are bent ! ...and I'm sure Mr Pannick KC representing MCFC regarding the 115 charges man city are facing is listening to this with interest CTID 💙💙
Getting a 40 million pound allowance when others haven’t is treating teams differently. Newcastle had to sell two young prospects to comply and Manchester United get given 40m 💩
Pretty much 😂 it’s embarrassing, we’re cheating for the first 20+ years of the premier league on the field to make them a relevant club. Now they’re just cheating off of it.
@@Fbdhdbrbdjxn What a nonsense, moronic comment. What cheating on and off the field?? And to make us ‘a relevant club’?? I think you’ll find that all of the biggest, most popular and supported clubs are always relevant.
So TalkSport get hammered by listeners and fans for having an anti-Ten Hag agenda, but they’re also guilty of favouritism towards United… So which is it??
@@Draper99 If you cant see what is plainly staring you in the face £75m handouts to save them from PSR sanctions it`s pointless me trying to explain it to you. Particularly when other clubs got £1m handouts.
