He ALWAYS put himself in the way just so he could save damon from his impulsive actions, and thats clear on the earlier seasons. When he goes with Klaus i think its the breaking point, because things turn around and then Damon starts doing the same for Stefan

Stefan felt guilty the entire time about convincing Damon to complete his transition to become a vampire; he felt like he owed it to him. So what he did in the last episode was not surprising to me, but it was painful to watch him die like that. :/ The ending was heart-breakingly and beautifully made and I still haven’t recovered from the entire show yet regardless of how many times I’ve watched it and how many years have gone by. This show is a masterpiece ❤

It’s been a good while since I watched this, but I thought that for the cure to be passed from one person to a vampire, it would take ALL of the person that took the cures blood. If one syringe would do it, why wouldn’t Stefan be running around curing everyone?

@@jenmccune2321that was Katerine that Stefan was holding. However Damon was always planning on taking the cure to live a human life with Elena. Damon was just waiting for Elena to wake up before he took it. Damon had planned on taking the cure the night of Alrick & Joe's wedding but Kai linked Elena and Bonnie together and put Elena in a coma until Bonnie dies which is why Damon had to wait to take the cure.

No, no, that was the point. Someone had to be WITH Katherine on the other side to ensure that she was indeed dead. Also Stefan 100% COULDNT snap Damon’s neck simply because he wasn’t strong and quick enough (because he’s human).

Nah, Stefan died for redemption especially after killing his brother's bestfriend/bestfriend's partner and Elena's bestie's partner aka Enzo. He could've lived but for what?? Elena would've hated him for hurting Bonnie and Damon by killing Enzo then letting his brother die. Yeah he had Caroline but he was her 4th choice after the twins and Ric so tbh he had nothing to live for atp.

I love how each one had different intentions, Stefan stayed to make sure the plan went through,for the greater good so his family and friends could live in peace with KPs constant torture but Damon, Damon was pure vengeance, spite. When KP says that Damon is enjoying this, it's because he was, Katherine was the first woman to ever break Damon's heart and it destroyed him, so it's obvious he wanted to relish in the moment knowing he was KPs downfall. Love it!!

Katherine “died” couple times and came back again. He wanted to make sure she is gone. Also I feel like that was the epic ending for them because Stefan was the one made Damon drink blood and become vampire, he made his brother’s life miserable when they turned. Damon never wanted to be a vampire. This was his way returning Damon’s life back.

I sometimes think that Stefan sacrificed himself not just for Damon, but for the fact that Damon had someone in his life who would help him, Elena. Stefan didn't have anyone, Katherine manipulated him and turned him into a vampire. Elena left him for Damon. He had Caroline, but she confessed her feelings for Klaus. So in the end, Stefan Salvatore really had no one ij his life. Its honestly so sad
