Leadership is about finding a way through, not a way out. Diggs is an exceptional athlete and football is his lifeblood…no question. The problem he has is that it’s a team and the collective is comprised of not only different personalities but also a gradient of dedication to the sport. Leaders know how to recognize this and adapt and work with what they have and extract the best response from each member of the team to get to where they need to go. In addition, we have coaches who ain’t closers which is not helpful. This has been a pattern for him. There’s nothing idiotic or emotive-driven in observing his divisive behavior. His retorts to the press were taunting, jeering and disrespectful. Those tweets were disrespectful, unprofessional and divisive as well…to a fan base, community, team, and his quarterback. Personally, I agree with you and believe both Diggs brothers deliberately orchestrated this disruptive and divisive "hand grenade" into the middle of the Bills' locker room at the moment of greatest adversity facing the team (and QB Josh Allen in particular -- a phenomenal talent in need of support and without whom this team is going NOWHERE). Moreover, the operation was executed GUTLESSLY and selfishly in a manner to try to give Stefon Diggs "plausible deniability." The more I think about it, the angrier I get. As far as I'm concerned, this is STRIKE 3 for Stefon Diggs. He's simply a BAD TEAMMATE and I'm happy to move on from him -- "addition by subtraction" as they say -- excise the cancer from the team. a) Strike 1: Selfishly causing problems in Minnesota and forcing his trade to the Bills. I was willing to "give him a second chance;" even though against my better judgment honed by life experience that detests malcontent "teammates" causing problems and then going public, I was willing to defer to Brandon Beane's "judgment." b) Strike 2: Diggs' outrageous, unprofessional, petulant "melt-down" and public "showing-up" his QB on the sidelines in the playoff loss to Cincinnati -- the same QB who he claimed to "love like a brother" after the Ravens playoff game his first season here, and the same QB who gutted out most of the season with a damaged passing arm/elbow/ulnar ligament and kept playing when most QBs would have shut it down upon being injured. And, as if that wasn't bad enough, Diggs never stopped his pouting ALL OFF SEASON and into training camp, and was (and apparently still is) utterly UNREPENTANT over all the strife, consternation, and "negative energy" it inflicted upon the team. c) Strike 3: Now this latest nonsense ... which, to be fair, MUST actually be compounded by the fact it hasn't occurred in a vacuum. Diggs certainly knows his own history, "reputation," and ADVERSE IMPACT he generates. Given that awareness of HIS CUMULATIVE history -- some of which is mere months old -- he nonetheless CHOSE to (at a minimum), go along for the ride on the nasty train with his brother RATHER THAN SHUTTING IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY -- which is what a true friend, good teammate, and team CAPTAIN would do. Period. Full Stop. End of Story. To think Josh Allen kept making excuses for Diggs' bad behavior and providing "topcover" for him all off-season (and even now) just sickens me. This is the thanks he gets for his loyalty to his BAD teammate. JA is a true professional, a genuine LEADER, and much "bigger man" than soon-to-be-30-year-old immature "man boy" diva Diggs will ever be.
