Steinberger $6 ebay single ball conversion+ review+ Demo 

Where? (In UK). Need double-ball for Transtrem or a string adapter for the Steinberger ZT3. Have had difficulty in the past. Excellent guitar but can't replace the strings on it.

No complaints about it at all. I've taken this thing to open mics every other week, on two trips cross country and 3 complete string changes. It's held up fine. If you don't want to wait 3-4 weeks to get it from China for $5-6 amazon sells the same thing next day for about $8.

I found an inexpensive hatdshell shotgun case from walmart which is well padded and protected for $10 which works wuite well. I is a little longer than need be but i put a small practice amp , cable, and strap in there too and works out great.

It only takes single ball end strings once the adapter is installed. If you want it to work with both types of strings you need one of the j-custom units. They are about $80. Headless USA sells them.

Dov Zazkis Thanks . I think I will use the sets I have of my double ball end strings and then try one of these out so I can save money on strings and use ernie balls . Thanks for the links of the inexpensive adapters. I ordered one from Ebay for little over $6 shipped

The truss rod needed to be tightened a bit to compensate for the extra tension. The intonation also needed to be re-set. To achieve correct intonation the low E needs to be set far enough back in the bridge that changing that string is a little bit of a hassle. This occurs because the part of the tuner that holds the ball end of the low-E when fully unwound wants to occupy the spot that the saddle sits in. Essentially you need to move the saddle forward and re-intonate just the low-E every time you change strings. But, I'm happy to do that twice a year, the strings are coated so they don't need to be changed often. If that sounds like too much work-stick to 10 gauge strings.

Dov Zazkis. Thanks! I just ordered the guitar at 17% off. Being a jazz and acoustic player, going from 12's to 10's seems a bit much. 11's ok. Pat Metheny uses 11's but please, not 10's! There is a youtube of an asian musician playing jazz on one of these but Im not sure its not faked. Check under "Steinberger GT Jazz."

PBG I have seen several people that were able to find Gun hard cases that fit the Steinberger Spirit. I'm going to take mine to a local gun shop here soon and try and find one.

Lucky me, if I got a Spirit for myself, I could always purchase 010-gauge double-ball strings from my favorite manufacturer, GHS. Sorry you play 011-gauge, so you’re not so fortunate.

Furthermore, what’s the make, model and price of the mixer connected to your computer? Can it function as a recording interface for Cubase?

No, that wont work. Even if you could get the head-piece to fit, you'd need to figure out how to install tuners at the bridge end.
