It took a few week's planning to finish this. Just fine-tuning the piano alone took me a few days, but it's worth it in the end. :)
I haven't played the visual novel yet... I will start playing it after the anime finishes! No spoilers please.
Q: What piano are you playing on?
A: It's a Roland JUNO-DS88 synthesizer. Audio edited in SONAR X2.
Q: How do you make the scrolling notes?
A: The MIDI display software is called Synthesia, with applied effects in After Effects. I will do a behind-the-scenes video soon!
