Exactly I'm very severely Disabled and lived alone for nearly 20 years did get very very lonely at least I have my Staunch Catholic Faith and Rosary Beads to keep me going and Memories of all daft happy playful times of Christmas past my Carer's are loving and make sure I have wot I need so does my Brother's and their partner's who don't live close. I say to all you youngsters and some younger adults look out for your Elders and Special Needs or any one else that's vulnerable if funds allow make them nice little carry out Scottish word for goodie bag I use to do it every year the excitement and sheer joy on there faces is priceless I use to buy face flannels, small bath towels about twice size of normal tea towel in bulk really cheap, Iceland sells packets of individual wrapped biscuits that has 2 or3 biscuits each packet called Hills 10 packets for£1 or Amazon full catering box of 100 packets about £16, Royal Regal sells 18 slices Maderia cake individual wrapped in 6 packs so far only Sainsbury's sells it for £1.25 I also use to put in packet of Garibaldy or Fig Newton's and lemon puffs or pink wafers all these all ages of Elderly really love, small box tea bags and few sachets of hot chocolate and Horlicks along with 2 Pints milk in pint form and individual size jeans, marmalade, cereal etc etc with bit imagination it can be done very cheaply I always managed to make for £25 tried to thanks to bulk buying and special offers easily for 3 to 4 enough munchies with some toiletries but I only got Boots baby soap 4 bars for pound or their baby bath or if it was just munchies about 4 or 5 again all this is depending on budget and wot I've managed to bulk buy, i totally understand cost living won't stretch that be lucky to get 3 parcels in most certainly not in way forcing it on anyone just hint of wot my friends and I did. Even if nothing to give like Little Drummer Boy just oneselfs company for half an hour is all it takes to do welfare check and see if all is hunky dory. I watch this little cartoon every Christmas there's another one I watch new this year is series on Elf on shelf who is behaving for once and Santa himself reading to all Boys and Girls out there me included such fun. Bring so much comfort sometimes much more than your family. Ps; please don’t let your children inherit your money ! There are so many good charities out there that you could give it to. @@urmibora Wearing a mask makes it difficult to communicate because we can't see each others face. Even old friends are difficult to identify. We don't know if people are smiling or frowning. We have to speak louder and that takes more energy. I made a few masks in my favorite color and I wear the same jacket when I go out. More people recognize me that way and respond to me. They don't have to guess who I am. From a distance I recognize one lady by her favorite purse and one gentleman from his knit cap. We just have to be more observant and more patient with each other. Hi Bobbie , yes cats are the best! I have Henry , Mathilde and Sterling for company this Christmas day . I decided to cook a Turkey for all the neighborhood cats . They are always friendly but their people not so much. My wood stove is not working properly and I need more wood . Snow is coming and i hope the power doesn't go out. Not a single call today and only one person gave me a gift. That's okay but it hurts sometimes to be forgotten or ignored by so called friends. Funny how there never seems to be an extra chair at their table. I wouldn't do that to them but they never want to come to my home for dinner. Not sure why as I'm a good cook and not skimpy with food . My birthday is on Monday and noone has remembered. Doesn't matter but I wish someone could look at the woodstove. Its getting really cold in my home.
