Tavares thinks that Joe Biden's NEW GREEN DEAL (SCAM) is the gospel of the American Auto Industry! A new Trump Administration will reverse things & keep gas powered engines being manufactured!
I live in China and believe me people are buying EVs and PHEVs. Actually its 51% of the market. Why? Because they are CHEAP and good. Imagine Volkswagen ID3 cost 12k USD in China.
Carlos, PLEASE focus MORE in improving the reliability in your cars. Jesus christ. Just doing that is a HUGE start. People dont want to spend thousands on a car today knowing how horrible the reliability is with the brand.
This guy is absolutely clueless about what consumers want. I'm a middle class consumer and i don't want a EV. I want a cheaper ICE vehicle. Even if you get an EV down 40% to what ICE is it's still to expensive because ICE vehicles are to expensive. He should be concentrating on making ice vehicles more affordable for the middle class. Not getting EVS to the ridiculous prices that ice vehicles have become. This guy is completely out of touch of what the consumer actually wants! He needs to be fired.
I live in China and middle/lower class consumers are buying EVs and PHEVs a lot. Why? Because they are cheap:) And ICE cars are cheap too. Because China has competitive market, brands fight for consumers. In USA you have oligopoly.
I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2024, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2024
Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased. Alternatively, you can consult a trained financial expert for strategy.
Talk about putting the cart before the horse. They can't build what they have been building for years competently anymore. He just wants to let the Chinese in so he can sell the company to them before he is done gutting it out, and fly out on his golden parachute
I think stellantis is the only factor telling you and the dodge ceo he can’t make V8’s anymore…..meanwhile ford and gm are currently making and investing billions into their v8 program…stop eating right wing talking points and pick up a actual news article and read for once
This guy killed Dodge by trying to gaslight consumers into thinking its a premium brand. Why on earth would anyone pay $100k for a Jeep Wagoneer when you can literally buy a Range Rover for less smh.
Get it together carlos. People losing heavy faith in you leading this company to a great place. Right before you guys took over FCA here in america was doing awesome
Well I live in China and EVs and PHEVs are cheap so that everyone can afford it. Imagine Volkswagen ID3 cost 12k USD here! Even lower middle class people can afford it.
Pro-Tip: Never let your foreign CEO address the public. Dieter Zetche had the same problem, the guy ran his mouth. The Ford, GM and Stellantis UAW contract combined with Chinese EV manufacturing in Mexico, forces some catastrophic cost cutting for the Detroit Three. The UAW labor contract will drive all US auto manufacturing to Turkey, Viet Nam, India and Eastern European countries due to the lower labor cost, more government subsidies and reduced bureaucracy, less government restrictions (like DEI) and hatred for corporations that we see from the Democrat party.
About the only thing that Chrysler has going for them these days are the big trucks/SUVs from Ram and Jeep and the Dodge Challenger and Charger muscle cars. Even in those areas, their reliability has been poor as of late. It used to be that the smaller cars were of poor quality, but the trucks were still dependable.
Carlos has completely destroyed these iconic brands. Workers used to have pride in their work and were proud to say they worked at Jeep. Now it's an embarrassment. It's quantity over quality, they are cutting jobs left and right. Even a whole shift of cert line (final inspection basically for quality) has been completely eliminated. It's disgusting. They need to sell to Mr Chrysler and stay in their own country, he has no idea how the US market runs, or how the shop floors should run! Workers are being bullied, threatened, and pushed aside for safety issues. Jobs are severely over cycled, so bad a worker lost his life a few weeks ago just to be able to finish up so he could have a 10 minute scheduled break. It's sickening.
Nothing mentioned about how this company/ companies are going to get and be profitable along with desirable... first, what is your market here in the US ? If you seriously thinking you can be competitive against Tesla 😂 your digging yourself and your company deeper into the grave... All major car brands have tried and failed with EVs
More Layoffs, plant closures and moving manufacturing to Mexico, Canada, India, poor quality, overpriced vehicles, etc...all of that is his reputation right now. All he does cut things off for short term gains. The long term problems are finally here and he has no real solution 😮. He doesn't know the U.S market PERIOD! Fire him and let him enjoy his $39M bonus from last year. American jobs are being lost and we need someone else who make us cars that we actually want!
Suggestion if you put the Active Head Restraints (AHRs) in the new electric cars make them already extended no need to deploy them with 120# of force 3 times faster than an airbag. Yes I am aware the crash test dummy heads are placed so far away and they deploy so fast they fully extend beating the shock wave and don't even touch the back of the head. If you do smart cost saving things like having them fully extended to begin with to slow the head from rearward G forces and "lessen" likelihood of a whiplash.. That would be great, get rid of the fancy deployment with potential oil contaminnant that caused chemical breakdown causing random deployments on people like me just shutting the door, of course my head was in close proximity catapulted. For the Record FCA Chrysler stated the randomly deploying AHRs aka Exploding Headrests have virtually Zero chance of injury, I paraphrase. I also wish they would treat people like me fairly. CNBC should do a story on this topic.
This guy's clearly drinking his own koolaid NO ONE WANTS ELECTRIC VEHICLES, not only that but the grid is decades from being able to handle that kinda load.
In the past Legacy Auto tried EVs & realized they are not a viable option. Sure EVs are a religion to you but to most people they aren't. Particle non partisan people think about the Electric Grid, charging time, freedom of movement ICE vehicles give you & most people don't like the Government messing with the Free Market & trying to tell them what kind of vehicle they can buy.
