You don't develop a game for years and then change all outfits for "artistic reasons" after the discs are already in production. It's clearly censorship and not intended. They had years to make this change if they really wanted to. They just said it was intended because they promised a uncensored version for all releases!

Maybe don't put designs you didnt intend to be in the game into the marketing, trailers, and initial printing? Also maybe don't put out a selling point of being uncensored, only to tone things down in a patch? People don't like to be lied to 😅

Although I don't care that much for the more revealing suits, come on! It's a game for adults. They should never have censored it in the first place. Fake prudes complaining about Eve's clothes while western games have full nudity and sex scenes. Those Twitter freaks.

The blame is on Sony for forcing censorship on the game, sure Kim Hung Tae lied about it but it was clearly done begrudginly. Either way let's not settle until all the changes are reverted.

I understand if the censored outfits in the latest patch was in the base game but they censored outfits after the game is ready. This isn’t a design choice but it’s someone forcing them to do so. The real question is why can’t they just put 2 variations of the outfits instead? There you go

He's a terrible liar, the edits were done as a concession because the DEI Sony censors were having a shitfit over the overall tone of this game. The only reason for the pullback is because Sony answers to money and their shareholders and the last thing they want now is another PR nightmare like the irreversible one they have done to Helldivers 2.

Actually they did add Two Ver 1.0 Costumes: The Black Kunoichi and the White Kunoichi. When you downpatch to V 1.0 after getting them on Ver 1.003 SURPRISE...they were already on the disk...AND they slightly different from the Ver 1.003 Versions. Who are they trying to fool? The other Two new costumes are ok...but they can't be compared to the Original Holliday Rabbit or the Autonetic Bondage Suit which is still the Best.

If the extra fabric is a design choice, that would have been in the final cut. Designing takes time to make. Unfinished designs will cause glitches. I support short clothes for free movement. Men, women, and fictional characters are allowed to have those. Even then, uncensored is not really about clothes and characters. It is about promises being made. Never lie.

I've said this once and I'll say it again: "If something was made with the intention of putting it in something, then that's the true version." In other words: Leave games the way the creator intended it to be.

If they manage to revert all if them, I'll tip my hat to the devs.

People were pissed because the game was marketed as uncensored for all regions then got trolled with day 1 censorship patch. The reduced 'spice' level of the affected suits was just the byproduct of the day 1 patch.

Hard to believe the words of someone who's bound to Sony by NDA and a Non-Disparagement clause when they're pretty much known for doing this stuff. Especially after they hinted at having issues with Sony's staff in an interview and the game itself suggesting otherwise.

You're missing a lot of the censorship. Literally every costume was censored and even some on disc/version 1 were already censored. You can see from the icons what they were meant to look like, at least in ver 1. Pre release footage shows different/uncensored costumes.

It's not uncensored, those 2 new outfits are not in the original state, and also blood was toned down so did the slur words got changed lol

Gamers are rejoicing saying it’s a “win” but it’s far from it. Look at version 1.03 and 1.00 of the Kunoichi outfit. I may liked the version 1.03 outfit more, but you can’t tell me they didn’t changed it after it went gold on disc. It’s still an alteration. Nothing changed. I am disappointed because I got the impression they removed the censorship, but they kept it. They just added new suits. Nothing changed. If you wanted to play as the Holiday Rabbit suit, it's still censored.

This is why I'm against consoles and cloud gaming, as well as anti-mod protections. On PC the costumes can be modded and this would be a nonissue.

The costume censorship is what mostly get the attention but the gore they showed before release was awesome nit many games get that right hope they just add a menu option to either tone it down or not

For those who don't know...The Uncensored Autonetic Bondage Suit is also on the Disk. When you start NG+ on Ver 1.002, save the game, close the game, delete the game, go offline and then install the Disk...you can pick up the Uncensored Autonetic Bondage suit on Ver 1.0 But you have to get the Cybernetic Bondage suit on your previous playthrough.

The only good news I want is a PC port so I can do a restoration mod. For those that are getting tricked and think this is a win well congrats for taking the bait

It's likely just the devs' attempt to pretend they didn't intend for the censorship in the first place by putting back the uncensored stuff in, but in an edited state. If they just put back the uncensored stuff as-is, it would mean that they give confirmation and validation to the customers' demands. And we all know Soy-knee can't have the agenda of their investors getting damaged like that. It's an attempt to tread the middle of the line. Just look at the red "Bunny" outfit. The cut of the outfit at the hip area is between the original uncensored bunny outfit, and the censored version with extra cloth. This is not a "win" for customers. It is just them making up excuses at this point to please both sides.

0:41 Apparently, people don't inspect before reporting. Midsummer Alice did NOT return to Cybernetic/Autonetic's (same outfit, different color) original state. The State of Play end of January trailer showed Autonetic with an exposed stomach and breasts. The disc version covered the stomach and the patch covered the stomach and breasts. The icon for the outfits in the game shows that nothing is suppose to be covering her stomach and breasts from the inside of the outfit. Alice outfit reveals the breasts, but covers the stomach. The original issue (stomach and breasts being covered) hasn't been resolved because for this specific style outfit, they seem to be obsessed with covering her stomach, which is not what the trailer showed. Pasting my comment from a previous video today: One thing since this outfit situation began, I noticed they liked giving Eve's bottomwear a high curve on her butt where its closer to the middle of her butt as far as they could go (Also, the curve goes up to her elbow). Midsummer Redhood is identical to the Bunny uncensored outfit. All clear. Comparing Midsummer Alice and Blue Monsoon bottom since they are both swimwear, BM has a high curve on the butt while the censored version covers the butt more and with a slant. Alice has a high slant on the butt, which covers the butt only a tiny bit more than BM's high curve. It's basically a mix of BM's uncensored and censored butt. They could have "easily" did the high curve. So... slight censor? As for Alice's front... Cybernetic/Autonetic outfit in the trailer didn't cover her stomach straight up to her boobs. On the disc, her stomach was covered. On the patch, her stomach and boobs were covered. Clearly with this front outfit design, they didn't want to show her stomach/bellybutton and boobs. Alice reveals the boobs, but the stomach is still covered. You win some, you lose some. Lastly, I like Redhood, just wish it was like Bunny and didn't cover her legs (Eve's legs are thicker in the Bunny style outfit). Interesting how Redhood is like bunny but with covered legs and Alice is a swimwear version Cybernetic/Autonetic, but the legs aren't covered. Coincidence?

Revoke *all* censorship or no buy. Shame on the developers for retroactively censoring the game. It throws the years of work that the entire team did, into the bin just to appease a couple of loud blue-haired journalists. Pathetic. They just censored other outfits now with this latest patch in exchange for the new uncensored ones as a final middle finger, not to mention the original outfits are STILL censored alongside the gore. This is not a "win", remember this game is now basically owned by Soyny. Now that Shiftup has F**k u money from their gacha money making machine Nikke, if they don't separate from soyny and make their next game multiplat and KEEP it that way fully uncensored with no day 1 censor patch then they will never get my money or attention.

Just dont buy it, period. I knew this game was too good to be true when it was revealed for the Playstation. And i was right (along with many others). But the devs made their choice so, no money for you even tho (supposedly) you can just get rid of the censorship patch with the physical version.

We should take this win with a hope for more in the future. Just remember to remain civil. Shift Up is acting in good faith, so we should respond in kind.

Putting back a couple outfits is still lifting the censorship. I would not be surprised if other outit were stealth censored and those two outfit are just a distraction.

Perceptions of video games are certainly different but I just have to disagree on this one: the amount of censorship compared to the disc version is pretty much overwhelming and from my point of view it's not questionable at all if censorship is actually really there. Maybe it's because everything I care about in video games and others don't. I don't know. Yes the game is very superficial compared to "Nier" from which it heavily burrows the music and its technofantasy setting, the characters are shallow and everything is "just" trimmed for being good entertainment. Yet this can also be said about the "A Plague Tale" franchise which is very different to begin with and, from an historical point of view, also complete bogus but so much fun and emotional! So it remains a great mystery to me who's actually responsible for all of this if Sony (as the publisher) did not intervene. Of the up to 75 costumes now available for the protagonist (Eve) inside the game, there are quite a lot of color variants (including the costume from the Digital Deluxe edition). Both of the new costumes in 1.03 mentioned here were not advertised for 1.03 but can be obtained with in-game currency (not real money) from Roxanne, a character whose making romantic advances to the protagonist in the game. Both are color variants of original uncensored costumes that are still censored in the game while the two advertised "free" costumes of 1.03 are at least newer designs in - again - just different colors too, black and white. In addition, I don't think "Stellar Blade" should be compared with "Bayonetta" but the "skin" suit really does resemble Bayonetta's transformation processes. So it's not that risqué and actually quite abstract from a design standpoint. Back in 2004 when "Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas" was released it was a different time then and the locked-out "forbidden" content was initially not on the regulator's radar. Something like that just couldn't happen today anymore and that EA executive was absolutely right: why has CERO allowed "Stellar Blade" but not "Dead Space" www.ign.com/articles/ea-japan-exec-criticises-japanese-ratings-board-for-allowing-stellar-blade-uncensored-but-banning-dead-space So whether it's ESRB or CERO, both already accepted 1.0. For example the blood on the protagonist's body is still completely gone in 1.03. Nothing sticks: ok, the amount of blood was not that much to begin with (nothing like Onechanbara) but it was just enough to notice it. It's also not something "maybe" visible when comparing still images from a cutscene but much more an instance that occurs during the heat of battle. It therefore feels quite different to play without it: like the character not actually being attached to the world. Well, she's also called "angel" - which may artistically fit. I mean, come on: the game is 18+ in Germany and across the boards all over the world despite its otherworldly locale.

I'm just gonna hold out for the chance of there being a PC version. If we play without patching, we get censored crap and these 2 couple fixes, but also get positives like new game plus. But if we get it on PC, no matter what state it's launched in, modders will make it the definitive version immediately.

The new update is no victory. Sony/Shift Up are baiting us with these cheap mediocre rush jobs while keeping the original holiday bunny/bondage outfits and blood censored, which is ironically even more senseless now. They want to buy your forgiveness with new outfits with hips/cleavage instead of earning it by just restoring the originals. This is proving their point that we care more about revealing clothing than the principle of censoring the original content we were sold on. This premature celebration and view that this is a victory deflates and damages our anti-censorship cause and momentum at literally its most crucial moment. I guess y’all can be happy with this appeasement bribe of distraction candy. This is a big disappointment IMHO.

Now it just needs to be ported into the PC master race.

These are NEW outfits, NOT uncensored outfits. They are NOT from the trailers, NOT from V1.0, NOT pre-day one patch. We have never seen these new outfits before. Stellar Blade is still every bit as censored as it was yesterday prior to the new V1.03. You are spreading false information. I suggest you take this video down and revise your script.

Best timeline is getting both versions of the outfits as options in game.
