I am convinced that last line was spoken by an Admiral for the Commonwealth of Man. Despite their differences with the UNE, they are still Human, and the destruction of a Human world by xenos would piss them off to the extreme.
@@abirbinhabib7669 well i mean. It is human nature. We have a lot of shouting between us but as soon as something opposes us, we come together to mess it up. Then start disputes again
UNE knew the incoming attack, and that's the reason why they moved the unfitted Titan away from the system. It's a replay of Pearl Harbor. PS: A UNE Sentry Array Report is shown by at the beginning of this video. It further confirms that UNE have the ability to detect the incoming attack.
@Nathan If that should be an achievement, it should be for the first planet you destroy, not 'all'. Considering that it takes a YEAR to even destroy a planet in this manner, you're looking at 500-1000 years of work.
"With this attack we have no choice but to protect our kind, by unleashing our almighty weapon upon them, summoning the apocalypse." - Shit just got real
@@eliaswilson1001 He's referring to the scene at the end of movie Dr. Stangelove where Major Kong, while celebrating managing to get his bomber's bomb-bay doors open, accidentally releases his nuclear payload with him riding it like a bull. Out of options he starts waving his hat around, hootin' and hollerin' like the magnificent cowboy he is
I'd surmise it isn't an alliance, the UNE would want to retaliate, certainly, but they wouldn't stoop to the aliens level of slaughter, the Commonwealth on the other hand would, as shown, seek to wipe every trace of those xenos scum from the galaxy.
Commonwealth of Man would totally go on exterminatus if someone attacked the UNE. Nevermind the political issues between the two. They're still one race.
The Gamma Aliens AKA the Starfish (Confirmed in the dev diaries) have a yellow flag and the war panel shows a flag with black and purple so they are different
“The Gammas were fools. They do not understand humanity. Our loves. Our hatreds. Our desire to avenge and punish. When you destroy a colony, wipe millions from existence in mere seconds, then you’d better be prepared, because you awaken a sleeping monster that will not rest until you are brought to kneel, dead or alive. The Gamma Alien fools just signed their own death warrant. Nothing is more dangerous than a human who has lost their loved ones. And now they face millions, perhaps billions of some of the most dangerous creatures to have emerged from a galactic backwater were everything else tried to kill them. Humans have out smarted, out maneuvered, over powered, and adapted past ever other species they’ve come into contact with. So those fools better be ready. Because the reckoning is coming. So they best cower in their homes and tremble in their own skin. Mercy is off the table. The gloves are coming off. We are the soldiers of humanity and we will rain fury and destruction upon them never before seen! We are the Harbingers of their Apocalypse!!”-UEF General to his troops before the first retaliation strike following the destruction of Europa VII.
Jamie Wanless “Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes.”-Quark Star Trek DS9
This trailer got more badass with the advent of the next expansion. If the Commonwealth avenging their human comrades with a doomsday device isn't already badass enough, now imagine the vast resources of Commonwealth planets put to total-war production.
Hey Netflix and Paradox...please make this game into a full-blown series, think this as the GOT in Space but with more actual war and a lot of epic diplomacy, politicking, betrayal , twists and HUGE explosions!!!
Already have, Its a very good show , the only drawbacks are the lack of "grand space opera" vibes in it the way Babylon 5 and Star Trek Deep Space Nine gave its audience.
If you loves the TV series, you should read the novel series its based upon, I just finished reading of the first book called Leviathan Wakes, and its great. Yep, there are aliens , at least its their bio-weapon/technology, which are the source of the main conflict in the first book. For Star Trek just watch the TNG and DS9, its the good ones especially the DS9. For real space opera feel , Babylon 5 , in my opinion, is still the best out there. Star Wars, Warhammer 40k, Gundam series ( especially the Universal Century ones )and The new version Battle Star Galactica are also examples of good space operas .
I have a feeling this might actually be something that could work. Between all the default empires, we have enough established nations, planets and people for this to be a possible thing.
I mean, it was pretty obvious it wasn't Earth. The big red moon in orbit. Unless I'm missing something here. I haven't actually played this game before. But I do own it.
Isn't the human Colossus in the trailer from the Commonwealth, though? The UN doesn't have red themed ships, but it still says "our kind" so it must still be humans.
Le Derp Français Yeah, the collosus in the trailer is a Commonwealth colossus. I interpreted that part as the Commonwealth entering the war on the UNE's side now that humanity as a species was threatened.
Paradoxical Outcome Maybe they got integrated? Regardless, I think my original comment still stands, given how the UNE probably turned a blind eye to the Commonwealth's act of retribution.
@@jtr7377 When Xxnos disregard rights of human or human-affiliated sentient life, UNE disregards their usual position of keeping Commonwealth restrained from exterminating xenos.
Dying instantly when your planet explodes is one thing... But watching your planet being ripped apart by some super laser for months knowing the fate that awaits you is...
Between this and the Synthetic Dawn release trailer, you guys keep out-doing yourselves. Especially with the dialogue. News reports covering the hysteria and destruction of an apocalypse, or the blankets of fear just prior to synthetic assimilation. Speeches detailing the response to the sudden death of a global populace, or announcing the uprising of machines against their masters. Really captures every emotion you'd expect to feel from the situations brought about with these DLC. Keep up the good work, guys!
hahaha, why would I spent 20$ just to build some death star in a computer when the money can be spent to do something productive? nope, I am not going to buy it. You aint gonna get me this time, you hear me Paradox. What you are doing is pointless . . I will definitely not gonna buy it . . . *Secretly checking my bank account.
Long Live the Underdog! "With this attack, we have no choice but to protect our kind by unleashing our own almighty weapon upon them. Summoning the Apocalypse." Sounds oh so much more ominous for the attacker if played back at .75 speed.
This and the other apocalypse trailer were the first trailers iv ever seen and what made me fall in love and pretty much buy just everything on Stellaris.
It's time you learned a lesson It's time that you understand Don't ever count on anybody else In this or any other planet I once hoped for xenophilia To find a place among xeno kind But those were the childish wishes Of someone who was blind Open up your eyes See the world from where I stand Me, among the mighty You, conquered at my command Open up your eyes Give up your sweet fantasy land It's time to grow up and get wise Come now, little one, open up your eyes We all start out the same With simple naive trust Shielded from the many ways That Galaxy's not fair or just But then there comes a moment A simple truth that you must face If you depend on others You'll never save your race And as you take that first step Upon a path that's all your own You see it all so clearly The best way to survive is all alone Open up your eyes See the world from where I stand Me, among the mighty You, conquered at my command Open up your eyes And behold the faded light It's time to grow up and get wise Come now, little one, open up your eyes Open up your eyes!
Whoa. Watch the Apocalypse Release Date Trailer and this trailer back to back, and it's kinda a combination tearjerker + crowning moment of awesome/tearjerker one-two punch for humanity.
We solemnly swear to devote our lifes and abilities in the defense of the mankind, to serve the Commonwealth of Men, and to fulfil the manifest destiny of the humanity, from the depths of Holy Earth, to the ends of the universe, until our last dying breath. We shall prevail.
This is the equivalent of punching the quiet kid and then taking the present his mom gave him only for him to be not so quiet and his brother to show up and go to town on you.
Random soldier: Chancellor. We have received word from Admiral Wiggins. He has engaged General Revius. All operations are going according to plan....He has requested permission to fire. *long pause of contemplation* Chancellor:..Fire when ready.. creators forgive us all.
Admiral -Wiggins- Vay Hek: "Hello... molluscs. For too long, you have been a parasite upon the great galactic machine. NO LONGER! The Gamma aliens must learn how truly insignificant they are. Fomorian commander, *FIRE! AT! WILL!!!* "
"While the Vulpex Empire demonstrating the ability to instantly sterilise Prethoryn-infested worlds is unequestionably welcome in this desperate war, we must remember that they must have been researching and building such a vessel for a decade or more, and ask ourselves--had the Scourge not attacked, who were they planning to use it upon? And what will happen when they win?"
Your shrines will burn, your streets run with blood, your false idols shattered, your people slaughtered by the thousands, your very planet torn apart… and the barest fraction of my hatred will be satisfied. -Ba’ar Zul the Hate-Bound, Warrior of Khorne
As a materialist, I believe the concepts of good and evil to be constructed by intelligent lifeforms. Meaning that there is no universal good and evil given by nature, it is rather a varying concept that most intelligent lifeforms (and AI´s based on the thought patterns of intelligent organic lifeforms) have some kind of version of. So this is an oversimplification, but anyway: you are plain evil!
Except when everyone has said Planet Crackers and Billions die every day thus culling Trillions in Months. One Planet cracker and one planet is not a big deal but fleets of them are and entire clusters of systems is.

TheHeroOfMH well i knew it wasn't Earth from the begining Mars isnt that big and so close to it also it would have cause a hope nother level of feels for all people watching .
“We are the UNE We stand for peace and democracy in the universe! and no one should be oppresed! Everyone has a voice! Today europa VII has been destroyed by a nation who threatens the universal right of freedom! And they are a threat to mankind.. we must protect the universal right of all sentient life! We must not fail! For Freedom, and democracy!”
i've been around since the beginning, this 2.0 update truly changed so much for stellaris I wish the 3.0 update and future updates would be as good as this update was.
