Excellent video as always and great information given. I've started doing this a few weeks ago and I bought everything from Ali Express including 12 meters of foil for ten U.K. pounds and they also do many different colours too. I use the Alclad Gloss white primer which stays sticky for around 40 minutes or so and I can also spray it through my airbrush. I've also used their black gloss primer which gives another darker effect to the lure. The only thing I do different to you is after I use the iron I then go over both sides with a hairdryer set on very hot. I then take a hand held rubber roller similar to a paint roller but smaller at around 10 cm wide and I go over the lure with this. Doing it this way I can use a lot more pressure and it insures all of the foil sticks to the lure. I did start off with a different primer with not very good results but with the Alclad it works really well as having it slightly tacky is they key. I also wait about 15 minutes until the lure is cold to the touch before pealing off the plastic backing, too early and some of the foil comes off with it. Thx for this one. I need the ironing pads, I bought some foil last week and I’m 2 out of 5 good stamps, the other 3 patchy. I stopped to watch videos and learn more. I don’t care for the spray adhesive either, as you showed not the same smooth finish as heat. Back to the store for ironing pads

Hello ; Everything is perfect with hot or transfer printing holograms. However, 2k acrylic varnish burns the hologram, sometimes it becomes very dull and the hologram becomes invisible. Your advice is important to me. Thank you.

What clear coat do you use before painting? I have tried lacquer but I loose the holographic effect

I use 2 coats of Autoborne as my heat activated adhesive. Water based and works great.

Any idea my friend why i did not succeed 100%?I managed to transfer the foil,bad there are holloe spots where the foil failed to stick.I have a philips iron too and used on wool setting too

Hi, I tried this technique last night and side one came out perfect 👍. Side 2 as well BUT in the process of doing side 2 , I ruined side1 . How do you prevent this. I didn’t realize how fragile the foil is. Also do you apply a clear to the foil after application. If so what do you recommend. Thanks

Use a hard board on the top, to push them. Its easier, and the foil will be more beautiful on them.

Dang it, I just got in more holographic foil in today. I ordered more cause I think the last crap from China wasn’t for hot stamping. Anyway I have bought 4 irons(took the other 3 back of course), but all the people on u tube make it look so easy m. I’m struggling like a SIB, really frustrated. Started off with a 29.95 dollar iron, each time I take them back I move up finally figured out it’s the wattage I’m looking for, I’m up to a 1725 watt iron but nothing ever comes out the way all the stampers lures turn out. It’s pretty much cut and dry the process of hot stamping lures. Don’t know why in the hell it’s so hard fir me to get the damn foil to stick. I clean the lure off with a acetone wipe down. I even wear powder free gloves, so frustrated. Found out the hard way the small silicone pads will break a window, so don’t get mad and throw it. Would love to know what I’m doing wrong, the iron cuts off if not moved every couple minutes I hate that, looking for a silicon pad with a built in heater that reaches 375-400 degrees if they even make one

I dunno I do not or try not to dispute anyone’s process cause I may hv to resort to it one day. But I don’t like spraying my lures with anything, don’t feel you have to if the irons get pads hot enough. But will be trying your process this afternoon. Anyone interested, I’m working with a company to make a plug in pad that’s 1/2” thick 6” x 10” silicon heat resistant pad 12volts, and will reach a temp of 400 degrees, anyone interested you can comment me hopefully I can figure out how to retrieve any messages. Price is uncertain but going to try abs keep it under 75.00 U.S. dollars
