huge thanks for your patience and skills. I've been carving since I could hold a knife, but following you I've noticed such a difference in my works. I'd been watching Doug outside and he was talking about how skilled you were in one of his videos. Your amazing, thank you!
Sharon, what a wonderful job you do teaching this technique. I've been carving for about 2 years now, trying everything from gnome homes in bark to Walnut fireplace mantels to life-sized busts. Your video is some of the best instruction I've seen . . . and the characters are too cute to pass up carving. I'd love to see a sample of your many characters. Thanks for the complete demonstration. Great job. Keep it up!
I found you from Gene Messer's channel, and I can see why he has you included among his favorites. Your instruction is clear in content and your cameradude is excellent. Couldn't ask for anything more : )
My compliments on your techniques and your wonderfully kind personality that suits your carvings so well. What knife are you using for these videos? I'm new to carving and looking for advice
Glad I found you...have just started carving small people...like the way you instruct...nothing left to chance...my first little guy is 1 1/2"...I struggled with it...will follow you...thanks

Great instructions with one problem please consult any manual that teaches how to use carving chissels (v tool) to learn how to properly and safely use the V tool.....
Its basswood. You can find it at your local craft stores or go to www.bellforestproducts.com and buy bigger pieces of basswood and then cut it down to what you want. Itll be cheaper and last you longer
Hey Sharon, What is the size of the wood in centimeters before you start carving it? Is there any standart for it or you use whatever you have? Thank you.
