The only wires I used from the stock harness were the alternator wire, starter wires, then the old distributor wire (believe it was brown) for the "key on" wire. But it will be different from car to car, so Hope this helps! I don't mind answering any questions!

what did you use for the oil pan? i have a 5.3l out of a 2002 silverado and im looking for the right oil pan kit to fit so it doesnt hang as low from what ive heard
@@tristantheblaze9756 very nice! I am using the stock truck oil pan, but I do not recommend that. It's about 2" lower than the subframe. Meaning if I run over anything the pan will hit it first. Ive read that the 98-02 f body and I believe the Hummer pan works great on the f body's, if you're looking for a budget pan. Holley also makes a 2nd gen f body ls swap pan. Believe that one is around $400-450. As long as its a rear sump pan unlike the gto pan which is a front sump, and not as low as the truck pan. With the pan a new oil pick up tube will be needed as well.
I have a tsp pan (top street performance) in my 79 was 300 with the baffel . Basically a Holley knock off . I’d recommend it comes with pick up bolts lam gasket. I did use the f body windage tray . You can use truck tray but have to cut off the front 1/3 of it basically
The stock truck intake does not hit the hood unless you keep the evap sensor, then that part hits the hood. Keep in mind, i am using the holley motor mounts with stock frame brackets. The 4.8 that I have is out of a 1999 silverado. GM specs them at 285hp. Now mine has long tube headers and a tune so it might have 300hp now.... its not fast but has potential.... Most of them come with the 706 or 862 heads which are great heads for porting and on top of that the 4.8's have the flat top pistons which is usually a trend with nitrous applications.... more than what you asked for....
