My kid has a 2006 Solara SLE convertible that had an original JBL radio with a nice tape deck and CD changer. He wanted bluetooth, but we also added CarPlay and a backup camera.
This video walks through the materials and step-by-step process of removing the dash and old radio then adding a new Boss BE62CP radio with a much-needed backup camera.
I describe my Crutchfield Ready Harness that keeps the steering wheel and Fade and Balance controls, compare the 2 available Solara Double DIN trim kits, wire a DIYBypass, and add a new USB port for wired Apple CarPlay.
NOTE: I am not a RU-vid pro, so any camera work will have to be tolerated.
