i rewatched this movie 6 times in the last month bc this was his best, they need to make another movie where he's the MC and he gets the pirates back together
Actually the lead in this movie is not a dancer at all. Tony Belissimo was his body double. Weird casting considering there’s not much in acting department as well.
Not complaining about the addition of the love interest’s (forgot her name) inclusion in the dance but I don’t understand why they made it seem like they were going to lose without her lol. Realistically speaking the lights and the kids would’ve been more than enough
Honestly, this last dance battle was quite stupid to be honest. The pacing is just wrong. I think it should.have been won by the samurai as they had better group synergy.
@Hect Vega exactly. They only won because of the lights show and the kids. Which cracks me up coz dude was like "you're right we aren't ready" and he was ready to throw in the towel, when they had a whole freaking light show up their sleeves. Like wtf?! The 2 of them didn't even need to dance together, it was pointless coz it added no more substance or skill than the lights
Its not about the dance being great it's about the pirates not "answering" Its like they were figuring out who should go nextThe dance was not "wow" but it did end up buying them time to actually "think" and start the light performance LOL this is all staged but if it weren't a movie Im sure this is what wouldve happened I mean its a battle not a performance ricght
I always laugh at how they pretended like they were going to lose just to have the girl love interest somehow join the last dance battle as if they didn’t have the whole light choreography ready anyway lmao
Well in actual dance battles like the juste debut in France they have both parties give preset songs for the dj to mix in for them. The pirates were relying on the girl and the main guy to give that intro choreography to the lights which were for the next song. But since she was a no show they were all confused as to what they were gonna do as the song was playing and no dancing was happening lol
I can't get over the fact that the main hero is just a handyman when it comes to dancing. He's always on the back either backup dancing or standing behind and acting as if he knows whats going on. He is always used as a tool that lifts the dancers. It's actually quite funny to watch him try to dance. I laughed my ass out when I noticed. 😂
Oh dude fr, Luke's actor is literally just a pretty white boy. He's the first and only actor in this franchise who didn't know anything about dancing when they shot the movie. Pay attention to him, he kind of just points and yells and acts as a spring board for the Swagger kids. Corridor Digital debunked this recently that it's a stunt double that dances with the girl at the end. They couldn't keep you from noticing his face so they turned the lights of to keep you distracted.
The funniest to me was the movie trying to convince that her girlfriend dancing in the end is like a massive gamechanger for the battle, especially her goofy jump in the end 😂
Him and the main girl literally mean nothing Lmfao. I really don’t know who directed this and was like yup those two should be the main two when they are the two worst dancers on each crew. I will never understand. They could of cut their duet and they still would of won cause of moose
The two leads are like watching actors paid to dance while everyone else are dancers paid to act. I would rather watch everyone else dance than the leads that we are supposed to like.
That is the best scene i swear the samurai should have won they wiped the floor with them INSTANT ! that was instant win like damn i would've wanted to be a samurai dancer lol
Coming back to this so many years later and STILL can’t believe they center the stories more around Moose. Instead they focused on an overdone love story between the 2 white, brown haired leads, that are never even that good at dancing (except Channing and the girl from 2). Moose, the dance loving college kid that struggles to balance dance, relationships, and school, is SO MUCH MORE COMPELLING than anything else in the franchise
I love the fact that in most final battle of this series, the main characters crew always have like 3 times longer dance performance than their opponents. *It's like you don't have to make it so obvious that they're the main.* 😂
Dawg literally this was my favorite step up like literally Moose became my dude after his first scene especially with the water dance scene like he really carried the franchise
When the twins danced, the way I see them in the background, they stand out - Harry Shum Jr and Camilla appears more excited and the boy all the right appears to force himself
but that's it though right. remove the lights and they werent better, but they had the lights, and the lasers and the kid... i mean if samurai's had both of those, they wouldve won, but they didnt. so... whats your point here? they implemented lights in a cool, cinematic way into their choreography, but shame on them?
I always wondered if Step Up knew about the inconsistencies when it came to the clothing of the dancers, especially the main actors that you see up front or if no one ACTUALLY saw them. I mean it's in almost every Step Up movie that in the big dance scenes, sometimes they are wearing jackets and such but then the next scene they don't have it on, AND then back again to the clothing being on.
