I love how respectful Charlamagne is with our elders...but I was waiting on him to give at least a little bit more push back in regards to people selling off important parts of our culture. I mean he's only been calling a lot of us stupid for a minute now for wanting them to be held on to because "that's just good business" to let it go. I think that could've led to a much needed discussion or as he calls it...a teachable moment.

I was introduced to Ms. Mills and Stacey Lattisaw in the late 1970s, pre-Whitney Houston. As a singer, they were the girls to watch. Stephanie can do music, film, tv, radio, stage...she's a well-rounded artist. What she doesn't do is play the marketing game which is why she flies under the radar.

There are four songs from the 80s by Miss Stephanie Mills which I enjoy listening the most every single day: "I learned to respect the power of love", "if I were your woman", "Secret Lady" and "Jesse". She is one special lady and a great singer..

OMG that show was off the chain. Stephanie went on first and tore the roof off on the left side and then Chaka came out later and tore the roof off the right side. They both brought the place down. 2 powerful house vocalists. In reality Chaka is also underrated too. Ok she has the hits and awards but still Chaka should be much bigger than what she is today. This woman sings over 8 genres of music. R&B, jazz, gospel, pop, rock, funk, classical, country, soul, dance, fusion and then some makes up Chaka. I love that Stephanie has mad respect for her peers. I tell ya Stephanie, Chaka, Patti, Gladys, Anita, Phyllis Hyman, Natalie Cole, Vesta Williams may God rest their 3 souls, Cheryl Lynn, I mean these women could and can still saaaaaaaaaaaang.
