To me Baker shouldn't even commented on what took place in the locker room when Brady was there. You wasn't in that locker room. Tom came there to show and guide these guys on what having a championship mindset is and how consistent you must be to stay on top. The Bucs was a losing organization for years. They didn't know what it took to win, they was used to losing. And Baker hasn't won anything either. So he should of stayed in his lane and not speak on supposedly what took place in the locker room with Brady. When you are about winning, excellence, consistency..heck yeah you are on edge and the stakes are high..the pressure to win and to stay in top. This ain't romper room. You want to win!

Feel like a lot of ppl don’t get what he’s saying. You can have a love of what you do. You can have joy in what you do and still be successful. When winning at all costs becomes the mentality, then the joy leaves. Having winning being your only joy sounds like a miserable existence.
@chris2kgreat
@chris2kgreat 2 часа назад
@@ShaunSum49 it does sound miserable, but as shannon said, "you have to become comfortable with being uncomfortable". Winning then keep winning, winning the next one, hate losing, losing hurts more than winning heals...all sounds miserable, but the winners in this sport, winners in life, became comfortable with that

I’ve competed in many things in life (not as big as the NFL) but got to the top of my small province and got caught a glimpse of what they are saying. You need to love what you do for sure but when you want greatness, you don’t have joy, you are so locked in that you need to win. The love of the gamr is always there but overshadowed by what you need to do. If you are not stressed out, you most likely never had high expectations for a long long time. Not talking against you as a person but typing it as a general statement
@ShaunSum49

@@chris2kgreat Being uncomfortable and being miserable are two different things. Trust me, I was in championship teams in my sports. Everyday we came to work, everyday we pushed other selves and each other to be better then we were yesterday. Running till we puked, crawling through the mud, extending practice times by hours. But we never left practice feeling miserable. Our captains never put us down or made us feel less than. Our coaches never made the locker room a place of constant stress. And yet, we had fun? And we won.

I think you're not getting what these two champions are saying either. Yes, they're speaking extreme but what they're really saying is that your joy is pushing yourself to the limits to get another ring and putting everything out there on the field. They're saying it's not about feeling like you're at a party every time it's about putting in work. You may do okay focusing on fun, but that doesn't get you the chip and that doesn't put pressure on you to get the chip. They're actually talking about life. Some people are fortunate not to have to push themselves as hard as they describe to achieve their goals in life but many of us especially if we either underachieve or just stayed in the same status in life. If you're not willing to put everything on the line to work towards your goal and to be determined to do everything you can to get to that goal a lot of us will feel incomplete because it'll always be what if I had pushed myself harder and stayed more driven where would I have been or what success would I have achieved. There are multiple sides in multiple ways of looking at things but just like my father had been trying to get me to understand for all these I've been an adult I finally realized after failing so many times what he was telling me. There is a loser mentality and a winner's mentality and if you hadn't already achieved certain goals then you have to pick the winner's mentality if you want to still achieve a dream or you can choose the loser's mentality and go to your grave some regrets. What Baker said wasn't wrong, but it isn't the mindset for consistency at the highest level in the NFL and it's a reflection on real life when it comes to achieving greatness. This segment can really impact a viewer's life if they're uncertain of what they should do with their life. They're basically saying it's all or nothing.

Stephen A always make it about himself. Smh. I watch the show live and every time teddy & Shannon spoke about chasing greatness, stephen A made it about himself. I understand greatness comes in all different type of jobs n not just sports but I truly thought Stephen A shoulda just listened to understand the mind of the athlete because he tend to make every conversation about himself. Sometimes it's not about you. That man ego is crazy. I'm sure he never forgot how he got treated when espn fired him n ppl tried to black ball him but he's at a level very few can reach so no need to keep talking about himself. Let it go bro!

Here’s what I think: you can have fun and joy in your culture, but the success may not be as great. You can be more rigorous and demanding and the results will show. Some do it one way. Some do it the other. If you can live with the results then do you

Jeez guys, settle down and get a grip. Mayfield didn't say anything wrong. He has the same passion as these guys to win and wants it just as bad as they do but goes about pursuing it differently. BTW, People can have balance and be winners in life. Mayfield, or any athlete, can be winners at their jobs without neglecting and sacrificing everything else in their lives. It's so stupid to idolize Brady and these talking heads and think they are so wonderful when they neglect and ruin everything else outside of their work. Football is a sport and a business but its not more important than the most important things; faith, family, community, compassion, service, health (mental and physical), etc. These guys need to get off their high horses.

I think it was out of context. The stress was from Tom missing time in training camp to go on vacation with his family, not traveling with the bucs to go to Robert Craft's wedding. So I see Brady being hypocritical.

When you’re getting paid millions of doallrs that’s not playing for fun that’s a profession and winning should be the only goal.

Playing for fun is a hobby man. That's like recreational softball team level. When you're at the professional level that's your career that's work that's a business. It's not about the money when you're a champion because being the pro means that you want to achieve greatness or at least that should be your goal.
