This is the perfect example of men historically being logical thinkers and females being emotional creatures

The marketing alone would have brought so much attention to the game if Caitlin was on the team. Look at what the NFL did with the Taylor Swift thing. There's your evidence!
@stephenchisadza4975

The objectives of Team USA are not the same as for the WNBA which is a multinational organization. Furthermore, Caitlin is famous in the US but that does not mean she means anything to the rest of us.

Terrible example. The NFL and Kansas City Chiefs were already incredibly popular well before Taylor Swift became a part of it
@markjones5678
@markjones5678 3 месяца назад
@@jctslice no shit! No one said anything about the Chiefs popularity. All I'm saying is that the NFL took total advantage of the Taylor Swift thing. You can't deny that. They rode that shit! What did she have to do with the NFL? Other than dating Kelce nothing but she has a following out of this world. In this social media age and all those swifties watching, the NFL certainly wanted to keep the Chiefs in the mix. That's marketing!

@@markjones5678 and also, a part of it is because she's good looking haha. The male audience increased in part because she's hot lol. With Caitlin gone, the NCAAW basketball league needs to take a similar approach and try to market Hailey Von Lith more now. She's a hell of a player, but also very hot haha

The WNBA should not be a thing. Other women’s sports can be watchable, but basketball requires the physical abilities of men in order to be interesting. however, I agree with SAS.

Magic and Christian did as being the hottest in college and put on an Olympic teams 😂

It's simple. She doesn't belong on the team. Sports is about earning your spot. The game doesn't revolve around one person.

Emotional women aren't ever logical. Caitlin Clark on the team only helps the WNBA. They dropped the ball. Simple
@stephenchisadza4975

(1) Why do you assume the selectors were all women? (2) it is a micro aggression to assume women are more emotional than rational decision makers (3) The WNBA is not the same as Team USA. The two organizations have different objectives. The WNBA wants to grow the game but Team USA wants to win
@markjones5678
@markjones5678 3 месяца назад
@@stephenchisadza4975 I didn't say anything or refer to any selectors. My reference was to the women in the video. People like you only read to respond. Never to understand. SMH

@markjones5678 3 месяца назад
@@stephenchisadza4975 1 I didn't assume anything but you did or you wouldn't have responded that way. 2 Aggression ? Man stop! However men are typically more logical than emotional unless they are emasculated. 3 Whether it's the WNBA or a global event like the Olympics, marketing is marketing! Stop making excuses.

Yeah, in viewing, but if they were to lose because of her bad shooting performance or usual turnovers, then the negative reactions would overshadow any gains they have made. Didn't her own coach have to bench her for poor performances?
@louie793
@louie793 3 месяца назад
@@charlesbowie1100the rookie on team usa doesnt ever play much so i dont think they would have to worry about her blowing a game with her shooting. Its about the viewership the wnba would of gotten with her on the team because of how shes affected the viewership since college to now. Marketing is the point i guess

if you want to talk about the purity of game i get what the ladies are saying but if it’s about getting eyeballs on the league for growth then SAS is correct!

If Caitlin Clark is on the olympics and doesn't play, her fans will be as outraged as they are now. It'll be more needless media coverage. The WNBA office made the right decision.

Key word media coverage the one thing all those 7 straight gold medals didn’t get them much of … I guess another one will really move the needle lol
@charlesbowie1100
@charlesbowie1100 3 месяца назад
If the WNBA is only about Caitlin Clark, then it is already a failure. You can't grow interest in the game if everyone is looking for an individual instead of the other talent of the players. None of these men in positions came out this strong for the women before now, so they are part of the problem not the solution.

There’s a racial tone this cause Michael Jordan was the baby of the NBA,took it global and still was under paid by the NBA and the other players didn’t benefit from the success. Michael had to make all his money from the endorsements. Jordan also went through his share of getting his ass beat up on court but of course he wasn’t this little white girl who all the people are putting on a pedestal. She didn’t deserve to be on the team cause she didn’t deserve,remember The men team that bullshit back with Christian Laetner and everyone was like what the fuck! She has to put in work and earn it and the women damn sho would’ve felt some type of way if they would’ve put that girl on that team

I grew up in a third world country in the 80s. Whilst Jordan was the biggest name, we also knew Magic, Bird, Dr. J, Sir Charles, Drexler, and in the 90s Shaq and Penny, Kobe, Vince Carter and T-Mac were also big names. I know someone who was mugged for their black Ewing 33 sneakers. So no, it was not the same for Jordan. The Dream Team was not so much an introduction to these names but was really about the US redeeming themselves because we already knew these people.

They should put Clark and Reese on the team, but I believe tryouts started 3yrs ago so they don’t qualify
