DeAndre Jordan was never the defensive anchor and with him now taking on this role as the key guy defensively it has no help to the Nets! DeAndre Jordan is not the same anymore and the Nets are asking him to take on a role that I don’t believe he is capable of doing anymore! Yeah he’s making less and less sense lately. KD is important because he brought everyone to the Nets? Totally irrelevant. KD can score 40 a night but if they are giving up 80 points in a paint they aren’t gonna win many games or go deep in the playoffs, the reason this team was put together.

Anybody that has played only has to watch one Nets game knows that DeAndre Jordan can't step up if his guards are constantly getting blown by and when he "steps up" to help on defense literally NO ONE on this team helps the helper. KD is your best defender and he's ranked 308th in defensive rating. Its on Kyrie, Harden and KD to step it up defensively
I'd say you are right but bump that percentage up to 75% -80% domination in the paint. They are so weak down there. Players that are mediocre are having career nights because of that. Its embarrassing to say the least lol

Max is right. Max's take is absolutely right. They need a collective effort on D, yes, but that D is in desperate need of a captain right now. Dre gotta step up, take on the challenge and go get that chip !!
He is absolutely right. I would say the 5 spot and rim protector position in general to be the most important. There is a reason that the Nets are prepping Nic Claxton. When he comes back from Injury, watch for Claxton to quickly grab some of DJs minutes and improve their defense
I could respect Max’s take if this was 2013 Deandre, or if he could space the floor. But this man has seen better days and will only deteriorate as time goes on

Max brings up good points and makes a great argument. The one thing the Nets lack is a defensive presence. If DeAndre becomes that anchor, u can argue that his ability can will others to play better defense as well.
The only problem is that DeAndre has to play extra hard every night in order to be that great defensive anchor. Watching the game last night DeAndre did great defensively but you can tell he was pushing himself. I don’t know how long he can do that before he tires out and has to start sitting out games for safety reasons. He needs another big to take the defensive load off his shoulders.
@@dravidianking1298 absolutely agree. At some point someone has to get in those players face about playing on the defensive end. Whether its DeAndre or KD(personality I think it should be Nash) someone has to rally these guys. If a guy late into his career is willing to push himself and young guys aren't, it should tell u a lot especially come trade deadline
DJ hasn't been the same since his clippers days and even then I remember hearing someone saying that if he was on another team he'd just be a role player
They both are right. KD is the reason DJ is in Brooklyn, and he most likely signed off on trading Jared Allen, which now puts a lot more pressure on DJ to be that rim protector/rebounding center, which is what they currently need the most.
