MLVC welcomes back to the podcast songwriter & music producer Stephen Bray for a solo interview! We had so many questions about Stephen's work with Madonna that he graciously agreed to join us again for another talk. We discuss the music he did with Madonna, do a deep dive on all of the unreleased songs that he's collaborated on with her, and also ask about his work on the award-winning Color Purple Broadway musical (and forthcoming major motion picture adaption). Follow Stephen on IG & TW: @maestrobray

Agreed, and I've been listening to Madonna since 1983, and I STILL think "baby love" sounds like Madonna. Especially chorus.

She should have done a Pinups type album and sung all the wannabe gals tunes. Or gone Ray of Light with even more obscure rock tunes. Are those cassette's she flings about on her Instagram etc the only copies of her pre pre-career stuff ?

Steve is so humble and understated…I was there with him in the NYC loft when he was first molding his signature electronic sound. That sound was the foundation of the Madonna musical journey and influenced a decade+ of music production. Such a great talent!

This was INCREDIBLE. Honestly, you both asked all the questions I had. How incredibly kind and gracious is Stephen? I've been waiting such a long time to hear an interview with him like this. Thank you so very much for uploading this! What I wouldn't do to hear those unreleased M songs!

And it is obvious he had moved on and had not thought about them much as it appeared he did not remember the time frame and periods of many of the songs they brought up.

It's a shame Bray never produced a ballad for Madonna. I have a feeling it would've been hot.
