Hes very talented actor, but most known for his comedic role with Stephen Chow. His ashes will be laid to rest in Malaysia where his wife family reside.
As a Cantonese native speaker, I really feel so sorry for all who don’t understand these language and I would say the subtitles can just reflected 50% of Stephen Chow‘s humor.
Ohhh it's literally everything he says. Legit Cantonese humor one of the best. So glad I under the language. So many 2nd generation can't even speak it. So sad.
As someone who can't speak the language, if Chow's humor can bust through only 50% that's basically 100% for us. His tone and body language is funny even without word.
I used to watch his movies as emotional therapy when I felt depressed. I came out a lot better after just watching one. So now I have 33 of his movies in my collection.
Here's a fact: a lot of guys here in my country keep a whole collection of his movies, just him and not anyone else. Not Avatar, not Transformers, not Mission Impossible. Just Stephen Chow's slapstick movies. And they can watch and watch and watch again. Never gets old.
the next line is even funny, he gave all the stuff to the thief willingly cause the thief said he have a family to feed. then police said send him to pyscho hospital
Wife: What's wrong with the steam-powered one? Husband: Every time near the climax the steam engine runs dry. Wife: What's that R gear? Husband: It means reverse... Hey! Don't use that! (The bed collapsed)
@@ikmaen because it was your destiny to be the one,the only lone rogue thinker swimming through a sea of comments and reach a depth no sapien has gone before... And beckon on my virtual door that 36 other travelers had not the courage to do. You've entered the 36 chambers young warrior. Now, PREPARE YOURSELF!! lol but na I forgot I made this comment my damn self, and I revisit these clips pretty regularly. Thanks for the smile :)
You'd think that the language barrier would make the jokes less funny, but I found myself cracking up at every bit. The hair dryer/ razor scene had me dying.
As the Director and writer he could write smart hero roles for himself. But he always add dumb and comedy texture to his roles. And became icon. Genius
Safe to say he's done with acting and now moved to producer role. Love to see him act again even though just like he said, don't know what role he can play nowadays.
Glad he moved to other role. Jackie Chan should follow him, honestly he's done enough (too many) movies and the roles are always very similar, nothing new.
Part 2 and 3 I can watch on repeat, especially that scene in part 2 where he joked about getting a post as a traffic cop and she really put him there. XD
Jim Carrey and Stephen Chow are the only 2 comedians who made me laugh until tears come out from my eyes.I still remembered vividly when i watched their movies in the cinemas.I think if there are more comedians like them, many ppl will enjoy a longer life due to constant laughter. Both comedians are great. And Mr Bean too.

@PURPLESNXKE no shit Sherlock u scroll thru the 1.8k+ comment just so u can said that “nobody said”? Did u scroll thru all the comment when u said that
You can rewatch all his movies and will literally get the same laughs just like you watch it the first time. There are new actors that try but non came close to Stephen Chow.
@@waiselei if you want to be a successful actor, don't alienate such huge market. I could be wrong but I don't think I've seen any movie since that antagonize the mainland, I could be wrong though. 1997 UK returned HK back to China but under the agreement of 1 country two systems
Weird that this suddenly trending on everybody's feeds now (circa March 9, 2019) but I ain't complaining! What a welcome dose of nostalgia! (Thanks, Mr James!) Btw, I've always loved the hubby/wifey dynamics at 6:55, so loving ^_^! The only other onscreen chemistry that is comparable IMHO was on TV's 'Medium' (Joe & Allison)
You don't find many jokes that age well or seems in line with the current trend nowadays, but heck, Stephen Chow did it years and years ago but we still laugh the shit out of it. Respect
at 2:28 the translation should've been: "no wonder you're so handsome" instead of smart edit: leng literally means “pretty” and zai refers to “boy/dude” for anyone who doesn’t know cantonese
it can be easily misunderstood, if it’s any consolation the subtitles should’ve been “no wonder you LOOK so smart” because the way they phrased it, most people would just associate “smart” with intelligence *shrugs*
i love him. he's literally genius. a talented actor. i watched almost all of his shows from the very beginning. i even watched that children's TV program he was in when he was around 22😂😂
My childhood🤧. I think i've watched almost all of his movies when i was a kid. He's so hilarious, that's why i love him until now (i'm 33 yo). How nostalgic😊
One of he funniest was when Stephen pulled out a nostril hair as a bet against a kungfu lady. He won the bet because his nostril hair was longer than the lady’s hair plucked from her head. Can’t remember the name of that movie.
I think he was the best comedian in China. The knocking head 7:32 looks really hurt. If there were many NGs on it likes what are usually happened in his movie, you just can't imagine how obsession he put on his artifact.
This genius man basically changed the name of cockroaches(蟑螂) in China. Everyone calls them Xiao Qiang(小强) now. (From the scene he mourns for his pet cockroach)
Stephen chow, jackie chan, jet li movies in the 90s make me want to live in Hong Kong but once i move there i regret everything, I move back to Malaysia two year later.
@@lyhthegreat No, im not blaming those protesters. Its because the living cost there is so fuckin high, the house is expensive, and goverment does nothing that could help the citizens especially poor people.
I just love this guy!! he's so funny and his films are so entertaining, you can watch them so many times without getting bored! I wish i grew up watching his films, it's a real shame i only figured this guy out 2 years ago!
i don't watch any movies/dramas nowadays anymore, all terrible. Only old movies are the best. Another level, no more the entire movies industries already dead. All i can do is watching old movies/dramas.
