The fact Stephen genuinely tapping and redo when he made a mistake, no tongue in cheek jokes, big smile after he finished the set like he accomplished something, is really refreshing to see on network television. Very Classy.
+Mia7189 You second that emotion twice :P! I ll gladly second it but I fear that it lead to an exponential growth of emotions who would enventually germinate the total collapse of the internet.
The sign of the cross before trying a feat was just so typically, typically Catholic that I burst out laughing. Somehow I thought Colbert would've tackled this a lot more gracefully--having seen his other moves--but the newbie touch made this really thrilling!
When I'm kind of bored or just need something to pass the time or to make me sleep, I imagine myself being a guest on Stephen's show for whatever reason. I think I'm gonna try to do something big and special just so I can meet him!
That was awesome! I wish I had taken tap lessons as a kid. The fact that she's a MacArthur Genius grant winner got my gears spinning. I do hope Stephen has Lin-Manuel Miranda on at some point. I'd love to hear him talk about Hamilton, do an awesome rap, etc.
This is awesome. Stephen is a quick study. My sister swing dances and tried to teach me the Shim Sham. I can't do the dance but I love to watch others dancing it.
+D. Black I hope he make that a regular segment. He's on Broadway now so I hope he goes out into the neighborhood. Not the way Letterman used to, but go to different theaters and be able to do fun stuff with the cast of shows.
An interesting note about talk show hosts - Dick Cavett was a tap dancer, he often came to Harkness House/NYC in 1979 when Paul Draper was guest teaching for American Dance Machine.
so since we're doing MacArthur Genius grant winners...when is Lin Manuel Miranda's turn up? #Hamiltunes for the win!!! -really though, enjoying the variety of the arts/and culture shown on Colbert's Late Show :)
