Stephen Graham just owns the screen. He’s a fantastic actor. So underrated. There are actors with not even a tenth of his talent that are lauded as the be all and end all. If I see a program or film with Stephen’s name involved, I watch.
Been on my list for years, still haven't seen it, but he still remains one of my all time favourite actors, his performance in the virtues was one of the best I've ever seen.
If he was a posh Londoner like a certain 3 other actors he would be Oscar winning. His ability is unreal, the acting in This Is England series Milky was unreal.
Not even close he sounds even more like a cartoon character than he did Boardwalk empire. He was legitimately the only non authentic casted actor as a wiseguy in the film, & he breaks the authenticity of the film every time he appears on screen. His English accent cracks, the real guy he’s playing sounded zero like.
sin gin The Director doesn’t always have the final say in casting and whoever has the most money usually has the final say, or a split decision between the casting Director & producers . No one in NJ or NY sounds like that or pronounces their words the way he did, he did zero research on the character. He’s just an overly worshipped “trained actor”. Anyone of the background actors in the film would of been more believable. The guy don’t look Italian at all or like the real guy who was my close buddy’s Grandfather. Al Pacino even takes advantage of Stephens accent cracking by making fun of the way he pronounces “Account” in the scene when he says “That’s what I’m doin I’m taking traffic into AccounT”. Mocking graham with that emphasized T at the end. Pacinos gonna get an Oscar nod for a reason, not Graham.
@@ImpersonationFilms well if you listen to a interview with scosese he was the who recomended him for boardwalk and told Graham he promised him after gangs of new york he would use him again in the right movie then all those years later he gets the call keeping to his promise, so i guess after listening that from the horses mouth pretty much say he made the decision to use him again, dont you
@@ImpersonationFilms maybe pacino will get the oscar and deservingly so but graham is still a class act in my book, o yea since you know someone who knew someone let me tell you my sisters best friends uncles dad brothers mother walked past someone in the street who knew someones auntie mother who knew a guy who had a sister who sat next to the guy on a train who new pacino from kindergarten, what do you think of that then.
I can't name a shit film that he's Stephen Graham has been in. Got talking to him in a club in Manchester one night he was actually wearing the same coat he wore in Snatch.... genuinely a funny guy.
The problem with Moyles is that he always seems to think he's the most important person in the room. The man loves the sound of his own voice far too much, he actually turned me away from XFM/Radio X in the mornings.
Big Stephen Graham fan. Great in boardwalk empire. Great in the irishman. He's real accent always throws me off (unexpected the first time I heard it) but his Italian - American accent in the movies is NJ approved!
Britain has been producing some of the most talented and brilliant actors for some time now. Americans get a hard on when British actors deliver. It’s weird but super satisfying haha.
At what point does a great British actor get to own their success without self depreciation? Steve is a total acting genius. Must he forever be some working class lad who can't believe that he's in the same room as DiCaprio? Own it man, you're equal to them. If not better.
Why does Moyles act like it's almost implausible that Stephen Graham could act along side DeNiro & Pacino? They're just other actors... all excellent actors, but just people at the end of the day, and Stephen Graham is just as good an actor - it's slightly insulting the way he carries on.
Moyles is SO narcissistic!! Overly fawned over by his mother perhaps? Imaginary or real makes no odds, it’s done it’s damage & now we all have to live with the fallout. Stephen Graham on the other hand, what a charming fella; down to earth & real & hugely talented probably as a direct result of his humility presumably taught to him by very similar forces to the ones that spoilt Moyles? Interesting species homo-sapiens & yet maddening & awful too!!
He’s not a genuine Scouser. He was born elsewhere in england and his parents are from foreign decent but he went to school or something so he definitely picked up a bit of an accent
Wow if you didn't know any better you'd swear he was American I mean this guy disappears into the characters he plays I thought he did great in the Irishman and he played a damn good al capone too
