Half the shots you play in these videos: "I was very lucky to get this as quickly as I did." Sometimes it's ok to recognise your own skills. Great work, as always!
I never liked Henry back in the days because he would beat all my favourite players and was sick of seeing him win all the time but now I have grown up and matured I look back and can honestly say Stephen is the greatest players of all time A LEGEND!!! It’s great to see him back 😎 💪🏾
Rubbish, the best is ronnie by a mile , playing like a robot might appeal to some but for the masses its having that bit of style ,charisma ,personality . Yes hendry can hold is own without a doubt but nothing compared to ronnie , hendry even said that ronnie is the G.O.A.T
Charlie Robert your entitled to your opinion I too rate Ronnie very high! Stephen had class and sportsmanship to go with his talent whereas Ronnie would lose it at times but it makes for great entertainment I get that. All depends what you like Both are greats And GOATS
@@charlierobert3571 I too am a Ronnie fan, but you cant compare Ronnie and Stephen. They dominated different eras, Stephen dominated the 90s completely, nobody could touch him. Not even Ronnie at that time but Ronnie is the most naturally gifted player.
Ronnie's flaws is a personality flaw witch a lot of greats of sport have, but on the table hes flawless absolute genius which separates him from the rest , your right everyone has opinions 🙂
@@charlierobert3571 Ronnie has never scored 7 centuries in a match, Hendry did it in a best of 19 match with 6 centuries in 8 frames at one point. Hendry has 7 world titles to Ronnie's 6. Hendry has won the triple crown in a single season twice, Ronnie hasn't even done it once. Hendry achieved 7 world titles in 10 years, Ronnie's best in the same time frame is 4. Hendry once won 5 consecutive ranking titles, Ronnie's best is just two in a row. Hendry has scored 16 centuries in a single tournament, Ronnie's best is 13.Ronnie has only one more ranking title than Hendry and plays in an era where there are 20 ranking tournaments per season. In Hendry's prime there were 8 in a season. Hendry is still the youngest player to ever win the world championship. Most Centuries in a World Championship (16) Most Centuries compiled in one match (bo19) (7) Most World Titles (7) Most World Finals (9) Most World Titles in a row (5) Most Matches won in a row at the crucible (29) Longest unbroken run inside the top 16 of the world rankings (23 seasons) Youngest World Champion (21) Most Years Ranked Number One (9) Most Years in a row Ranked Number One (8) records he holds quite a few unreachable Hendry will always be king and the greatest player ever to play the game.
That safety behind the green had to be one of the best safety I've ever seen in snooker. Bravo to you to manage to replicate it just 4 attempts. Lots of love for the channel from Penang, Malaysia.
@RickTheRedBrick, we are talking about shots made in big important tournament like WSC, that's a pressure shot. Not some doctor Martin shoes tournament. There's a difference. Shots attempted by this guy, he has no pressure at all is just attempt to do shots in how many times that's all. Black ball for 147 thousand pounds. Try it genius.
@RickTheRedBrick yeah, Hendry simply wasn't a spectacular shot-taker. Yet only Ronnie compares to him in terms of a (successful) no-reverse-gear approach to play. Trump is one of the most spectacular shot takers of all time. What age is he now? He's only recently reached the level of consistency and self-belief that Hendry already had as a teenager.
What a great video. I'm a huge snooker fan been watching since Steve Davis won his first World championship. And Stephen hendry was my favorite untill ronnie come along. But who ever Stephen is playing apart from ronnie I always supported him. I think its great hendrys coming back. Hope he wins more tournaments and maybe makes a 8th WC. thank you for a great insight into such a difficult game that sadly I can't play but throughly enjoy watching.
We all have our preferences. My jaw drops with ROS's play, yet I have always felt completely absorbed by the way Stephen plays. His talent, willpower and intensity are mesmerizing. This was a great vid, thoroughly enjoyed it , thanks!
Watching from a fully locked down Safety Beach, Victoria, Australia. Loved discovering your channel recently. Grew up in Scotland watching snooker in the 90's. Can't wait for Hendry's return.
I think it’s probably a mix of a few things for Hendry. I don’t think it has much to do with ROS going for records, he’s been retired 8 years and seen quite a few of his records go already without attempting a come back. He must be enjoying his snooker again after the seniors. He said his main reason for retiring in the first place was the fact he didn’t enjoy smaller venues/competitions. That must have changed. I also think ROS comments about the lack of quality lower down the ranks may have rang a bell for him, he might be coming out with the “I’m just enjoying it and seeing where it goes line” but at the end of the day he was one of the most ruthless and competitive players ever to play. He won’t be coming back just to make up the numbers, he must fancy his chances.
Well whatever may be the reason for Stephen Hendrys return but the snooker scenario will be much better with his presence. Stephen Hendry had a dry spell from 2004 to 2012 before he retired let’s hope he wins some this time round.
Hendry of old expected to win everything whereas this Hendry won't be thinking like that at all but rather to enjoy the game whatever happens win or lose!
@@colincanyon2519 He'll be wanting to win. If you were playing in front of people. And you were the best around. Do you think you'd not try, and want to dominate again.
@@glyntaylor-williams3593 It's not about winning everything for Hendry now that ship has sailed a long time ago obviously, but he will want to compete and win matches here and there and earn some money on the side, not that he needs it lol..I've played the game competitively for 30 years myself so I kind of know where he's at right now..
It's not always the shot itself that makes it great, it's that they thought of that particular shot and went for it.. cheers for another great video dude 👌
I remember Hendry potting a red and with the black unable to go in the opposite corner he used the top cushion to slow the ball down with loads of top right bringing the white across the table to pot the black in the same pocket as the red. An unbelievable shot I've never seen anyone else play and imo his best shot. Can't remember who it was against or when but will never forget that shot.
For me Hendry and O'Sullivan are the two greatest players of all time. The Iceman is truly the greatest professional the game has ever seen and I am honoured to have net him personally while in his prime. Great video, thank you
When i started watching snooker stephen had already retired so couldnt see him play. But the archives showed one of the greatest player snooker ever had. I come from a very small town in uttar pradesh india and in love with this great game. Hopefully i will get a chance to see it live in UK someday
You missed one of the sporting machines. He will never get the early standard back of course but I reckon he would be pleased to beat a few tour players and a top 16 scalp.
@@richardedwards9389 agreed. The first video i watched of him was his 147 against bingham in WC12. Man what a composed player he is. I was so upset that i couldnt see him in his prime. But at least with him returning i will be able see his game again
Ronnie is an artist. Hendry is a scientist. I can't wait to see them in a match. If both are on form it will be unmissable (unlike my blacks off the spot)
I love your channel! So much to learn from you! I am moving shortly to Maple Ridge, BC. Where I will be acquiring a games room to play billards, and start working on all the tips you have here on your channel.
2:32 This is an amazing shot. My observation is that Hendry stays down on the shot and you seem to cue harder but some up . Maybe staying down keeps the cue lower for longer and gives more backspin?
If I can have a request I would like u to do a snooker equipment guide. Like price range from tables, cues, equipment's etc and where you can get it❤️....🙂👍
Hendry is a fantastic player. Any records don't really matter because he will always be considered among the greatest - we are lucky in that all of the major matches are recorded so we can see his amazing skill. As others have noted, he probably saw that an older player like Ronnie O'Sullivan can still compete and have a lot of fun.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to you, I’m a pool player have my own team been playing for 10 years or more but I’ve always had problems with my action, recently have started to wear contacts as I have something called Keratoconus so I can now see clearly, I watched some of your videos on technique and put them into practice on my table and I’ve seen very positive results and am getting out of the very bad habits I’d gotten into, so thankyou and keep up the great content
Very good recreations! At 3:03 u should be very reflective of Stephen’s shot because yes it’s a LOT of backspin but he holds himself together and let’s all of it follow thru the white ball whilst not raising up immediately after the shot.
Watching from Colombo, estate of Paraná in Brazil... In my opinion Stephen Hendry is the greatest snooker player, but I don't desagree when people elects Ronnie's as the greatest... Both players are extremely successful and brilliant! It's a matter of personal taste elect the player that you consider the greatest, because numbers alone don't tell you the whole story... Your videos are great! Really love your work!
Plzzzz show us u playing a match against someone.... Love ur videos 😍it helped me improve my game as i wasnt very good, looking forward to buy your book.. Ahsan from rawalpindi, pakistan
A big problem is the way things are at the moment I haven’t played a match at all since February. Not sure if there will be anything I can compete in for a while either.
